Chapter 415
I Am The Luna
Chapter 0415
Depending on what needs doing, Iâm not sure how much sheâll be able to take, considering how weak
she isâ¦
âYou arenât chipped. How did they know?â Zade asks as I place my medical kit
down.
âI donât know. Thatâs why I was confident they wouldnât know. I wanted to leave safely, just start afresh,â
Adriana explains.
âRight⦠and what happened today?â Zade asks quietly. I can sense the anger in his voice, even
though heâs keeping his voice as level as possible.
Her heart thuds as I move her shirt fully up and my stomach turns. Itâs worse than I thought. I donât
know how sheâs surviving⦠sheâs been shot several times and not one wound is healed the bullets
must still be insideâ¦
If it was one bullet, even if I managed to get it out, if bits of the poison from these bullets remained it
would heal. However, sheâs not in a state to heal⦠and thereâs
too manyâ¦
This is bad.
âI donât know how they found me⦠they are all members of the Arkan⦠I didnât know you were coming,
or I would have tried to warn you,â Adriana explains. You never answered the message.â She sounds
desperate and guilty now.
I turn to them, trying to calm the worry I feel. âShe needs proper medical attention. We need to get her
to a hospital where they have the correct-â
âNo, Doctor, thatâs not a choice. They know our faces,â Adriana says clutching at her bloody waist as
she tries to sit straight. She herself is going to collapse soon. Iâm not even sure how sheâs sitting. I
guess sheâs another strong woman, the Sable sure were strongâ¦
I glance at Zade. âShe could die,â I say through the mindâlink.
((
âIâm sorry for putting you in this predicament, but you are the only option. Sheâs right, we canât take her
to the hospital. Thereâs nowhere safe for us.â Zadeâs quiet voice fills my mind.
I sigh, looking down at the woman on the bed. She must be in her midâtwenties, if that.
âI will do my best thenâ¦â I say as I get to work removing the bandages and dressing that is doing
nothing to deter the bleeding. âBut this is risky, and I canât
+15 BONUS
promise anything.â
âYou are the only option we have. I canât take her to a hospital. They will know she isnât human with
how many bullets are in her. If you can just do whatever you can⦠Please.â
âNo, of course, Iâll try. I justâ¦â I look at Zade. âShe could die.â
We have no choice. If we move her in this state, sheâs as good as dead anyway. Iâm sorry to drag you
into this.â
âNo, itâs ok⦠Iâll do my best,â I say with determination. I will do my best. She will not die- not on my
watch.
âIâm going to search the bodies, see if I can find anything useful. Thereâs a high chance theyâll return
when they realise their men have not returned. Do you need anything, baby girl?â
âYes, can you bandage up Adriana and then please fetch me some water and
towels?â I reply, tying my hair back as I get to work, realising just how much our kind need our own
hospitals where we can be treated properly. I need a hospital of my own to treat our people.
My anger at the situation is bubbling strongly inside as I began working on Ada, starting with the bullet
wound to the chest. Someone â possibly Adriana, has
â
tried to get this bullet out and probably from all of them itâs not as badly infected, which is a good thing,
but there seem to be pieces left inside.
Zade steps back inside, and I look up when he places the bucket of water beside
two towels and some Tâshirts.
