Chapter 428
I Am The Luna
Chapter 0428
âOh⦠Iâm sorry.â I wish he told me. Shelby treated me well and always made me feel
welcome.
âYou had a lot going on, besides Miss Linette has been taking good care of her.â
âThank you, Patrick,â I reply. âWe have two injured sheâwolves who need medical care, preferably in
their quarters. I will tend to them, but I did message ahead regarding the herbs I needed?â
âAll ready for you, Miss Valerie, but we do have doctors on hand. You need rest.â
âThat would be great. There are a few checks I want run on one of the ladies by your doctors. and I will
handle the treatment of the other,â I say with a smile. Patrick glances furtively at
Zade.
âOf course, Doctor Scott. We will bring the ladies in,â he says, motioning to the left and I hear footsteps
and see two stretchers brought forward. Zade reaches into the back of the car taking Ada out first
before he places her on the stretcher and then lifts Adriana down. âAnd I will get a doctor to come right
away.â
I nod as Zade grabs our luggage and locks the car.
âDo you need help⦠sir?â One of Atticusâ men asks him.
âIâm good,â Zade replies.
I can feel eyes on me, but tenfold more so on Zade. He keeps his hood up, although Iâm certain
everyone here knows who he is, and I donât think heâs trying to hide.
I step closer to him, taking his hand slowly and lace my fingers with his as I lead the way inside
Atticusâs mansion and upstairs, guided by Patrick.
I had already told Atticus I had two injured women with us, and he had promised heâd have rooms
ready, and he delivered. They are put in large comfortable rooms to the left of us. Zade places the bags
down in our allocated room before we head to Adaâs room.

I check in on her, telling the doctor exactly what her situation is and what tests I want to
my way run. He nods as he takes notes and Iâm confident heâll do his job. I then make Adrianaâs room
and Iâm relieved to see the herbs and the tools are all here for me.
I smile. I can smell Atticusâs scent from these halls and it feels homely. I might have shouted at him, but
itâs always nice to see him. I get to work applying the herb balm as Zade leans

against the wall, watching me.
It hasnât even been five minutes when I hear the sound of Atticusâs footsteps. You canât miss the sound
of his brogues against the wooden floors. He knocks on the open door, and steps
inside.
âI do apologiseâ¦â he trails off, and I turn when his heartbeat quickens. 2
the smel He turns away the moment I turn to look at him, and Iâm surprised to see frown. on his face. I
glance at Zade, wondering what happened?
âWelcome, the both of you,â he says, clearing his throat and holding his hand out to Zade.
Strange.
I shake my head getting back to work, but pause when I realise he hasnât approached me.
âAre you still mad at me?â I ask.
âI was never mad at youâ¦â he answers, but still, he stays in the doorway.
âOh ok, then no hug?â I ask and this time Zade looks up, observing Atticus sharply.
My brother runs his fingers through his hair before smiling and approaching me. I stand up, and he
hugs me, his heart thudding oddly.
What is wrong with him?
âYou ok?â I question, now feeling concerned.
âYeah, I just⦠didnât realise that you had⦠people who were injured this severely with you.â
I sigh as I pull away and look at Adriana.
âYeah⦠this is Adriana, and her sister Ada is in the other room. Both were targeted by the
âI Arkan, the human hunters. Just look at her injuries. They show no mercy Atticus.â I explain, my anger
towards the hunters bubbling within me.
He nods as he backs up, and for a moment, I wonder if blood got to him. No, thatâs silly. Heâs been
around blood pretty often.
âWell, itâs good to have you here. My staff will bring you food. You and your friends will be safe here. I
bid you both a goodnight and Iâll see you tomorrow.â
He nods at Zadeâs before leaving, and I just stare questioningly at Zade.
âThat was weird.â

âMaybe heâs just throwing a tantrum since you didnât take his calls earlier?â
âNo⦠thatâs⦠I donât know.â I shake my head, realising I didnât even get to ask how his mom was doing.
Maybe heâ just stressed and tired.
Once Iâm done with Adriana, I sigh a breath of relief. Her fever was already going down, and she
looked calmer, too. By tomorrow evening, Iâm certain sheâll be much, much better.
