Maddy’s P.O.V

Everyone was hushed. The trees swaying in the wind, and the birds chirping was all I heard. Shifting in my seat helped me cope with this, very uncomfortable silence. Savvy crossed her legs. I noted that it was very rare for Savvy not to be talking. Kay was clearly avoiding speaking first, by surfing the web on her iPod. Hope was fixated on a blue jay that was hopping on the ground beside her.

“Wait, I was thinking.” Savvy said putting an end to the silent courtyard.

“You thinking ... that’s never a good thing.” Savvy gave Hope a glare. I smiled, we loved making her mad.

“What were you thinking about?” Kay asked.

“What if this is what Flora wants? She knows that we all have secrets. I mean who doesn’t have something they dare not to tell not even their friends? But, what if we are doing exactly what she wants us to do?” Savvy asked. “I mean think about it! We have things that we have never told each other … What would a group do if they were faced with an enemy? They would meet and let out what they are hiding.”

“I don’t get what you mean.” Savvy sighed at what I said.

“Flora wants us to spill to each other! So we’ll break up!”

“What are you saying? Do you have a secret you're not telling us that’ll break us up?” Kay asked, Savvy closed her mouth and looked at the ground. “What are you not telling us?”

“This is what she wants,” muttered Savvy.

“I think you’re right,” stated Hope. “But, now that we are all here, tell us, what are you hiding, Savvy?”

“I’m not doing this! I’m not going to fall into the trap that Flora has set up for us.” Savvy argued.

“I really think it’s too late!” Kay yelled.

“Fine, you want to spill secrets, Kay tell Maddy what you did!” Kay glared at Savvy.

“You promised you won’t tell her!” Kay fired back.

“You’re the one that wants us to let all the cards out on the table.”

“What did you do, Kay?” I asked. Kay gave me a look full of sorrow.

“I-I-I-“ Kay shuddered.

“Just tell us,” egged on Hope.

“Oh, don’t you dare expect Kay to tell you. When you haven’t told Kay or Maddy what happened to you.” Savvy said in the mixed of her anger. Hope immediately stood up.

“You asshole! That’s none of their business!” Hope shouted.

“Oh, but you told me. I think they have a right to know!” shouted Savvy.

“Guys! Stop!” Everyone went soundless as my words echoed in the empty courtyard. “We are acting like three-year-olds. Obviously, we need to take turns, and talk.”

“I think you’re right …” Hope said, with a tear falling down her face. “I've never told anyone. Only Savvy … You guys have to promise me that you won’t tell a soul.” We all nodded. “When I was six, my cousin … Ban … he … ummm …” Hope started crying. We all went over to her and gave her a hug.

“Did he hurt you?” Kay asked. Hope shook her head.

“He just made me … touch his … di-dic-k,” All of us could put two and two together.

“Hope. Why didn’t you tell us what happened you?!” I questioned. She stopped her sobbing.

“I just didn’t want y’all to freak out.” I had to smile through the tears coming down my face.

“Well, we are not freaked out. I’m just shocked and tempted to go hunt down that bastard that dared make you touch him.” Hope leaned over and gave me hug, crying. I wrapped my arms around her and comforted her. Kay rubbed Hope’s back

“Shh, we’re here for you, always.” Kay muttered.

“I kissed Dylan.” Savvy said out of the blue. I glanced over Hope’s shoulder, my eyes bore into Savvy’s with shock. Like a reflex my eyes shot to Kay. She was not looking at Savvy, but at the ground, Kay's hand slowly slipped off of Hope’s back. Soon, Kay’s knuckles were clenched into a fist. The tips of her knuckles where white from how hard she was balling up her fist. “Listen, Kay I didn’t know it was-“

“Go,” Kay interrupted Savvy sentence. “I would advise you to leave my site, now, and stay the hell away from me.”

“Kay, listen, I am sorry. It wasn’t like what you might think I thought he was-"

“It's to late to apologize! Plus, I don’t give a fuck! You never think, Savvy! You kissed the guy I like! Right now I’m holding myself from strangling you! I love him! You know that!!! But then again Savvy you just have to be so stupid! No wonder your mom left you! Because you’re stupid!!! I can’t believe you kissed the guy I love.”

“Oh, come on, Kay! You don’t truly love Dylan! You just think you, do because it hurts you that the guy you really like, is seven years older then you, and rejected you after you gave him your virginity!” Savvy shouted.

“You son of a bitch! I’m going to kill you!” Kay started towards Savvy, I ran over and grabbed her.

“Kay, stop.” Kay’s eyes tore to mine.

“No, let her take a hit at me! I will rip you to shreds!”

“Savvy stop!” I yelled.

“If you only knew.” Kay said to me, with that Kay ripped out of my grip and walked out of the courtyard.

“I'll leave my front porch light on for you Kay! You're welcome to come over anytime and get your ass whopped!” Savvy yelled after Kay.

“What the hell Savvy?! That was not your secret to tell!” Hope shouted when Kay was out of ear shot.

“Oh, cut the innocence. We all know there are more lies we're all holding. This meeting was pointless … Guess Flora won.”

“Yeah, because of you.” Hope said in anger.

“Really, you’re going to blame me?! Nice Hope, play the naive one!” Savvy was livid by now.

“I think we should all go home, and talk about this later.”

“You can all find your own rides home.” Savvy stormed off.

“She’s pissed.” I mumbled.

“No shit.”

I walked into the gym, with a shred of hope that Troy would be in here. Sure enough when I glanced around, I saw him throwing hoops on the other side of the gym. I grabbed a basketball from the rack and made my way over to where he was. Before he saw me, I attempted to throw a ball in the hoop.

Swish, was the sound it made as I made a perfect shot. Troy looked behind him at me.

“I didn’t see you there.”

“I’m a ninja with mad skills.” I stated. He chuckled.

“I bet.”  Something was telling me that he taken what I said and made it perverted. I rolled my eyes, and grabbed back my basketball. “I didn’t see you at lunch today. I went to lunch afraid of what you were going to blackmail me to do.” He said with a smile.

“Yeah, I had … A meeting.” I stated, and tossed the ball in the goal.

“What kind of meeting?” He asked.

“One that ended in total chaos.” I admitted.

“Sounds like it was fun.”

“Oh, it was a ball.” I added with sarcasm. He laughed.

“Wanna play one on one?” He asked me. I smirked.

“Depends, what does the winner get?” I asked.

“The winner gets whatever they want.” I shook my head.

“Ha-ha, no.” He smirked at me.

“Do you doubt your mad ninja skills?” He asked me. I sighed and threw my ball across the gym.

“Never would I doubt them. I was just … You know what, never mind. Ready to get your ass kicked by a girl?” I asked with a smile on my face. Troy started dribbling the ball.

“You do realize I’ve been ranked number one city-wide.” I shook my head.

“You do realize that I grew up with more brothers then you can count on your fingers. I whopped every single one of them, never lost.” I added. He gave me an analyzing look to see if I was lying.

“Well, baby, get ready to have your first lost.” He said.

“In your dreams, buddy boy,” With that I ran over to him and snatched the ball. I dribbled it. “Maddy just stole the ball from number one ranked Troy.” I was acting as the commentator. “She shoots! She scores!” I yelled in triumph. "The crowd goes wild!" Troy glared at me.

“That was cheating! I didn’t know we started!” He whined with an excuse.

“Well,” I ran over to the ball and tossed it at him. “The game has begun, and you, my none-friend are losing, to a girl.” I smiled as he started dribbling.

“Not for long.”

My goal is to be updating a lot, I love this story, and I can't stop writing.
