Maddy's P.O.V ... Yelling Makes All The Pain Go Away
I Dare You! / I Got You! {Completed}
Maddyâs P.O.V
âJust come clean, you lost, to a girl.â I stated as I got in Troyâs car. He didnât mutter a word, just got in the car and looked at me with a frown.
âYou totally cheated.â I smiled with victory at the fact that he was actually pouting.
âI didnât cheat. You, my non-friend just lost. I think I'll collect my winnings.â I said, he raised an eyebrow at me.
âAnd what exactly is it that you want, Mrs. Cheater?â He asked with a sly smile.
âDrive and Iâll give you directions.â I stated, Troy turned on the car. With a loud sigh he began driving. Soon we pulled up to a dirt road. âYou should stop the car here. We'll walk from here.â I stated, knowing that the road would turn into a trail that wasn't big enough for a car to drive on. Troy and I started walking the endless trail.
âDoes this trail ever end?â Troy asked about 10 minutes later.
âYes it does Mr. Sore Loser.â I added with a smile. He gave me a quick glare before glancing behind me and gawking in awe. I turned and saw we had made it to the top.
âWhere did you find this place? ⦠Itâs â¦"
âBeautiful.â I finished his sentence. My eyes scoped out the sight that was before us. We were currently on a cliff called Falling Cliff. It over looked the whole city. âMy brothers showed it to me after â¦â I didnât want to finish that sentence.
âAfter what?â Troy asked. I sighed loudly and shook my head.
âNothing ⦠Okay, this is what I want you to do since I won.â I quickly changed the subject. âGo to the edge of the cliff and yell, I lost to Maddy Delaine Huggins.â I stated. He gave me a questioning look.
âThatâs it? Thatâs all you want me to do?â He asked. I smiled and nodded.
âYep, now do it, Mister.â I demanded. He chuckled and walked to the edge.
âI lost to Maddy Delaine Huggins!â His voice boomed through the air. I grinned and then walked next to him. I inhaled deeply.
âGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!â I yelled until my face was red with the lack of oxygen. I felt so much better after I yelled. Yelling seems to always take away  a tiny bit of stress, anger, or pain. Of those three, I was full of pain. Pain from the fact that I had a deep feeling that our group wouldn't be the same again.
âWhat was that for?â Troy asked, as his eyes shifted to mine. I sighed.
âThat was me releasing some anger â¦â I honestly said.
âSo that's what you come up here for? Releasing anger?â He questioned. I sat down and dangled my legs off the cliff.
âYeah, that and because itâs the most beautiful place to go at night. You should see the stars here when it's nighttime. I remember my brother Jamie bringing me here.  Man, we'd spend hours out here.â I chuckled. Troy sat down next to me. âOne time ⦠I was heartbroken. I saw the guy I liked with another girl. He didnât know I liked him though ⦠I was so upset. Jamie brought me here, and we didnât talk just focused solely on the twinkling stars above.â
âWho was the guy that you liked?â Troy asked. I shook my head.
âYou donât know him,â I lied. He bought it and nodded.
âWell, we might have to come back at night to see those stars.â He stated. I looked at him with a smile, hoping he would live up to that promise ... if it was considered a promise ...
â ... Maybe.â With that I stood up. âI need to go home. My brother is in town and I want to visit with him before he leaves.â I said.
âChristopher?â
âY-yeah, how did you know?â
âHe answered the door when I came this morning." I giggled at the fact that I completely forgot about that. He chuckled too. "I donât think you'll miss him leaving.â Troy smirked.
âWhat do you mean?â I became curious as to what Troy knew about my brother, that I didn't.
âWhat? You donât know?â His expression was fully of shock.
âKnow what?â I asked with curiosity.
âTroy is marrying my sister, Holly. They announced it, like, a month ago. Well at least she did to my family.. I think Holly has even sent out invitations.â
âI think you're highly confused. My brother would never settle down.â I exclaimed. Troy shook his head.
âWell, he is. I guess you can say he's changed."
âNo, you donât understand, he will never change. Heâs like you, I can never see him in the future tying the knot.â I confessed.
âAre you telling me that you canât see me getting married one day?â Him saying that made me laugh.
âYou? Settling down? Ha-ha, when cows jump over the moon!â Troy walked till his chest was touching mine.
âWhat makes it so hard for you to conceive the idea of me settling down?â
âBecause you like to get rid of girls as fast as you get rid of condoms.â I boldly stated.
âYou make me sound like a cold-hearted player.â
âWell, you, my non-friend, are a cold hearted boy.â His eyes had a flicker of amusement. âAnywhoo, I want you to take me home, now. My dad has probably already sent a search and rescue team out to find me.â I said sarcastically. He chuckled.
âOkay.â Was all he said as we made our way to his car. I couldn't help but remember what I told him:
I saw the guy I like with another girl. He doesnât know I liked him though...
Little did Troy know that the guy was him. He was the reason my brother dragged me out of the house in the midst of my sadness and brought me here.
I liked Troy...still did, and seeing him with girls, broke my heart every time.
But he would never, and I mean never find out I liked him. I just couldn't have myself falling for him anymore, and then getting my heart broken again and again.

âMaddy?! Where did you go?â My brother Jamie asked once I walked in the house.
âI went to Falling Cliff.â I admitted, he sighed in relief.
âDad freaked out when you didnât come home after 3. He called all the girls, but they didnât answer their phones. I think he was seconds from calling the cops.â Jamie said as we walked into the living room. I laughed, but knew he was dead serious. Upon entering the overstuffed living room, Christopher jumped off the sofa and headed over to me.
âMaddy, can I speak to you in private?â He asked with eagerness in his voice. I nodded and he led me to my room. âMaddy,â Christopher said closing my door. âIâm getting married.â He told me.
âI know, I found out by Troy. Why didnât you tell me?â I asked.
âBecause I was hoping I wouldnât have to tell you.â He stated with a hint of ... sadness?
âWhat do you mean?â I asked.
âI donât want to marry Holly. Sheâs basically forcing me to marry her. Maddy, I am screwed when it comes to this girl. She's like my stalker. She told me that if I didnât marry her she was going to ruin me.â
âHa-ha, a girl controlling you, wow.â I stated in awe.
âMaddy, you donât understand, I donât love her ⦠I love someone else.â I analyzed him, wondering if he was lying. In his baby blue eyes, I saw he was not lying. Christopher was serious. He was in love with someone else.
âWho do you really love?â Â I questioned, with a smile.
