I Got You: Troy's P.O.V ... You and Me
I Dare You! / I Got You! {Completed}
Troyâs P.O.V
Maddy sat on the couch with her brown hair cascading around her face. I watched her green eyes sparkle as I handed her a Dr. Pepper. She opened it with a pop. I couldnât look away from her as she gulped it down. Guilt ran through me as I wondered if I had been giving her a right amount to drink. But then I remember giving her something to drink less than an hour ago with breakfast.
Soon she sat it down on the coffee table and gave me a thankful nod. I smiled and sat down on a loveseat next to her. She looked at me with her forest green eyes.
âSo? ...â I muttered not sure of how to start our talk. Maddy gave me an analyzing look.
âSo?â She mocked. I chuckled and leaned back.
âMaddy, I have a job, an apartment I plan to get ... I want you to come and live with me because I want to support not only you but the baby.â Maddy let out an elongated sigh.
âUmmm, I like that you want to support your child, but you are moving way too fast with supporting me and asking me to live with you.â Her voice was soft and I could tell she was really thinking and considering her word choice.
âSlow,â I mumbled. She nodded.
âYeah, I want to take this slow. There is no need to rush this, because I know that rushing things can lead to an unhappy ending for both of us ... I-I ... I want to make this work.â A sly smile crept on my face, her words made my stomach turn in happiness.
âMe too,â I replied. We talked for an hour about what we planned to do, with not only our baby, ourselves, but about us. I learned that Maddy wanted to be a writer. She told me her dad was encouraging her and she thinks that she can do it while staying home and taking care of the baby. I admitted to Maddy that before I found out about our child I was planning on joining the Coast Guard. But that meant I would be away, and I couldnât bear the thought of leaving her and the baby.
âIf you arenât going into the Coast Guard, then what will you do after high school?â She asked me.
âI will keep my job at the neighborhood grocery store and take classes at the University.â I told her.
âWhat will you study to be?â She questioned.
âA doctor, I always thought if I canât work for the guard, I would like to be a doctor.â She nibbled her bottom lip. I had a feeling she was thinking about something and wanted to tell me, but she was hiding it back. âWhat is it?â Maddy didnât reply. âMaddy? ... Butterfly? ... Maddy?!â She shook her head as she stopped daydreaming about something. She blushed which surprised me as our eyes met. âWhat were you thinking about?â I asked.
âNothing,â she stated. âTroy, when can I go home?â She asked me with a quizzical look. It pained me to hear she wanted to leave, but I knew I couldnât keep her here.
âWhenever you like,â I answered in a solemn voice. Maddy sighed and stood up.
âMy brothers are probably searching near and far for me-â I cut her off, knowing she was about to leave.
âHave dinner with me, please.â I said in a begging voice. Maddy fiddles with the hem of her shirt before nodding.
âJust dinner, nothing else,â I smiled at her.
âMaddy, I donât think it matters what else we do before or after dinner, you are already pregnant.â I joked, but once the words left my mouth I saw Maddy didnât think of it as a joke. She clenched her teeth in anger. âButterfly, Iâm sorry, I was just joking.â Maddy closed her eyes as if to calm down before nodding.
âMovie?â I heard her breath. I didnât think I even heard her right.
âWhat?â I questioned. She opened her eyes revealing that she was now calm.
âI would like to watch a movie. I mean dinner time is not for a few hours, so too pass time, how about we watch a movie?â
âYeah!â I ended up shouting, she grinned at me before giggling.
