Guests screamed as the helicopter nose dived towards them. They jumped from their seats and ran through the rows of chairs, knocking them out of their path. The propeller whirled as it tried to lift the aircraft back into the air, but it was too late. The pilot tried to turn his controls to avoid the ceremony, but it only turned it on its side. Its belly scraped against the Astroturf and sent the chairs flying over the rooftop's edge. News reporters and fans below looked up as a chair smashed against the road, the white plastic turning to dust. Police officers spotted the carnage on the top floor of the building and called out orders in attempts to make it into the elevators. But with guests on the top floor slamming the buttons in their panic, the elevator was stuck between the middle floors.

While the pastor ran off in fear, Sue and Tony stood on the platform in their wedding attire. With the tension long gone and Tony's handheld device deemed useless, Sue watched as her wedding became a disaster. She grabbed the skirt of her white dress and pulled it up to be able to descend the stairs of the platform. The helicopter spun out of control, its tail's propeller heading for the flowergirl. Lila dropped her basket of petals and was frozen in her spot, the blades merely metres away.

'Lila!' Laura cried, running over to take her into her arms. The mother looked up once she took hold of her daughter and shielded her away from the spinning death-trap.

'Laura!' Clint was too far to be able to intervene. He watched helplessly as the two most important girls in his life were faced with their probable deaths.

But before the propeller could tear them to shreds, Sue ran in front and produced a forcefield out of her held up hands. The propeller collided with the wall of shimmering blue and the propeller came to a halt. Sue's elevated heel broke as she leaned back, the helicopter's weight heavy against her barrier. She clenched her teeth in concentration and glanced over her shoulder Laura, who looked up from Lila's shoulder with tears in her eyes.

'Are you okay?!' Sue asked and the woman's head lowered into a nod. Lila continued to cry as Clint appeared next to them, taking his wife into his arms and pulling Lila away. He met eyes with the bride who held the propeller at bay and lowered his head into a nod in gratitude. If it wasn't for her, his world would have been strips of human remains.

As Clint ran off with Laura and their daughter, The Avengers came to the aid of guests. Natasha made sure that Cooper and Nathaniel was taken out of harm's way, while Peter took advantage of the commotion. A man was bumped into by the frightened crowd and was sent over the edge of the rooftop, letting out a cry as his feet left the floor. Peter used the web-shooters hidden under his blazer sleeve and encased the man's torso in the sticky, clear fluid. Through the fear and panic, the man couldn't see who pulled him up and over the edge of the rooftop. This kept Peter's identity a secret, and the boy made sure to run off before he could be seen.

Johnny helped Pepper away from the platform while Wanda used her scarlet mist to stop debris from falling onto the streets below. She stopped a large, Greek-style vase in its path and danced her fingers to pull it back on to the rooftop. Screams and cries from the streets echoed as other debris fell into the masses. Wanda did her best to grab as much as she could, but she couldn't hold everything.

Vision couldn't assist in the chaos. Thor shook his head when the being went to help with some guests who were nearly crushed by the aircraft. He reluctantly shrunk away and sunk through the floor, heading down into the building to avoid questions about his existence. Thor used his mighty strength to pull the doors off the helicopter, where the pilot and co-pilot groaned from their injuries.

'I-I don't know what happened, man...' the co-pilot sobbed, seeing the devastation around them. 'T-The power... it just cut out and... oh my god...'

'Do not think this is your fault,' Thor clamped his hand on the man's shaking shoulder. 'This was beyond your control.'

Tony eyed the silver culprit that was soaring away the city and turned to see Johnny helping a troubled Pepper sit down on the stairs.

'Johnny!' he called, and the man looked up. Tony jolted his head to the right, where the man saw the beam of silver in the distance.

'This is Dolce...' Johnny ran his hands down his blazer in reluctance. Tony narrowed his eyes at the Storm, and the man threw his head back in a sigh. He turned to Pepper and squeezed her hand, muttering that he will be back as soon as possible. Pepper, whose forehead was in her hand, nodded without a word.

Johnny turned towards the edge of the rooftop and broke into a run, igniting his flames and flying into the air. His beige suit was incinerated, revealing his blue hero suit underneath. His inferno engulfed his body and he flew away from the ceremony. A stream of flames were left behind and he curved around a skyscraper to head towards the river.

With the helicopter in the middle of the destroyed wedding, guests fell into lonesome chairs and reunited with their loved ones. Tony looked around at the destroyed flower displays and the torn-up aisle. What took months to prepare, was destroyed in a matter of seconds. All the money that was put into the ceremony was gone and Tony and Sue still weren't married.

The Stark caught sight of the white dress near the platform. His heart ached as Sue sat on the same stairs as Pepper, her hands in her lap and her eyes looking at the mess that was her wedding. The hem of her dress was ripped, and her broken heels sat next to her. Tony swallowed as he walked over and stopped on her step, where he looked down at who was supposed to be his wife.

Sue felt the familiar ball form in her throat and her eyes fill with tears. The flowers she had spent months deciding on were spewed over the grass, and the ribbons that were tied to every chair were in piles. She saw Lila crying in Laura's arms, her flower girl basket discarded with petals flying away in the wind. Clint stood beside his wife who clenched their daughter close, while Cooper held Nathaniel who had miraculously slept through the whole ordeal.

All the guests fixed their clothes and held handkerchiefs to their cuts. Peter looked around at the mess and spotted who were supposed to be the bride and groom. He saw how Tony shrunk down to be beside Sue, who laid her head on his shoulder as tears leaked out of her eyes. Tony put an arm around her and laid his head on top of hers. He wished he could take it all away for the woman he loved endlessly.

'Miss Storm really can't catch a break,' Peter said aloud, feeling bad for the woman in white. Thor, who stood with the pilots of the helicopter, looked to where Peter was looking and hummed in agreement.

'It was an unfortunate turn of events,' Thor said gravely. He looked out to the buildings around the rooftop. Johnny was still on the chase somewhere, and Thor wondered if there would be answers when he returned. He cursed himself for not being able to anticipate an attack. But with SHIELD holding the defences, he thought that everything would be secure.

'Storm said he lost it,' Nick Fury's voice made Tony turn his head up from his sobbing fiancé. Fury stood with his hands in his pockets, looking down at the couple. His one eye was sorrowful, and his lips were tight. Even he was upset that the ceremony was ruined. It was under his security, yet they were in the same situation as if he hadn't been.

'Went out of the atmosphere,' Nick continued. 'Some sort of silver surfer. Whatever that means. But its what I talked to you about, Stark-'

'I say this with all due respect, Director,' Tony cut the man off. 'We've had a rough day. I didn't want a part of it, but somehow, your 'anomalies' have ruined my wedding day. So, I want you to take your agents and leave. Quietly and without a fuss, would also be nice.'

Although Tony's voice was stern, his eyes pleaded up to Nick. With each shake of Sue's shoulders and every sniffle of her nose, his face drooped into an even deeper frown. Nick let out a breath of air and gave Tony a look that said there would be a discussion on the topic later. He then turned away to gather his agents, leaving the two on the stairs of their broken wedding.

Tony stayed silent as he held Sue. He knew that the talk of the event would be endless on news outlets and from the government. As if they needed anymore intervention after the Sokovian accords. But they didn't usually care about what the news said about them. But he feared for Sue, who was silent with her cries and kept her head down facing her lap.

'We'll book another venue,' Tony decided to say, his voice full of care. 'I'll plan it all. We'll make it work. I promise. I love you, Susie. I do. Please, don't give up.'

Sue said nothing. Her chest ached and her head pounded with pain. She tried to plan a wedding, and the UN tried to sanction the Avengers. She tried to have a wedding and a helicopter fell on to their ceremony. Nothing about her life will ever be normal. With the world of aliens, robots, gods, and silver surfers, all Susan Storm wanted was a human wedding.

The day was proof that Susan's world was a circus. She spent every battle protecting everyone and helping everyone, and in return, she just wanted to be happy. But the world that she will bring Tony's child in to, will always be dangerous. No matter how many forcefields she made or how much armour Tony built around the world, it will always be her circus, and her monkeys.
