Sue was shocked at the strength of the first Outrider she encountered. It charged at her on all legs and arms, its brothers and sisters doing the same and fixated on humans to gobble up. She tried to not let fear take hold at the sight of its sharp teeth and wide jaw. One bite and a limb were gone, or her insides were ingested. No matter how strong her suit was, it would be no match for the alien's chomp.
Her first attack was meant to be fatal to the beast. She encased it in a sphere of shimmering blue, raising it off the ground with her hand stretched outwards. The Outrider bashed against the walls, its tongue flicking and jaw attempting to latch onto an edge to rip. Sue wanted to move on to the next assailant, which she could see coming at her in the corner of her eye. So, she went to shrink the ball and crush the alien, but it's four arms pushed outwards and broke through the lining. Sue pulled her arm back at the rebound and the Outrider landed on its back legs, towering over her.
It lurched forward with a roar, two of its right arms raised to attack. But Sue disappeared and side-stepped. The Outrider couldn't stop its pursuit in time and followed through with its hit but sliced through nothing but air. In her invisibility, Susan encased her hand with a large disk. Its edges sliced through the Outrider's middle, and she forced her arm to follow through its thick abdomen.
The Storm's arm emerged the other side covered in thick, green blood. The abdomen's middle was gone, and the Outrider fell to the grass; dead. Its long tongue laid out of its open jaw, but Sue didn't have time to be disgusted, as she was knocked over by a falling Wakandian solider. At the unexpected, she materialised into view and let out a groan as she hit the ground. After a few rolls, she got into a crouch to see what had hit her.
An Outrider feasted on a dead Wakandian soldier. With its teeth piercing through meat and its gruesome tongue licking over bone, Sue felt anger pour into her veins. As another Outrider jumped at her from the left, she held one hand out to produce a half-dome around herself while concentrating on the feasting alien. At the feeling of its chest expanding from the inside, the Outrider looked up and roared. Its mouth was covered in blood and its claws were still latched into the soldier's armour. The other Outrider collided with her forcefield and attempted the same technique it did on the barrier around Wakanda, throwing itself against it until it faltered.
An explosion of guts and blood blanketed the ground. Sue's forcefield continued to expand out of the Outrider's body and dispersed once there was nothing left of its form. Surrounding soldiers and aliens turned when they were caked in Outrider guts. The sight of their dead brother/sister enraged the aliens, and they attempted to get through their opponents to Sue, who turned to the Outrider that she held at bay behind her.
'What a woman,' M'Baku stared in awe at the Storm from across the battlefield. He watched as she pierced through the other Outrider with a spike of transparent blue, before turning invisible to weave through the fighting.
Each of the Avengers battled for Wakanda. The Outriders were powerful in their masses, but the humans were dynamic in their skill, abilities and dominance. From above, Rhodey, Sam and Johnny worked together to take out clusters of raging beasts. Outriders fizzled from streams of fire, their cries of agony teaming with the burning infernos that Johnny produced from his hands. He swooped low and Outriders attempted to swat at him, but their arms were singed and burnt to their shoulders. The smell of burnt flesh wafted through the air and Sam's nose crinkled in disgust.
'God, that stinks,' the Wilson coughed, flying down to let his wings cut through the heads of aliens.
'Barbecue, anyone?' Johnny snickered through the earpiece. Those who weren't neck deep in Outriders let out a laugh.
'Very funny, Johnny,' Bucky's voice came through the Storm's ear. 'Can you get down here? These things just keep on coming.'
'I got it!'
Bucky looked over his shoulders, expecting to see Sue nearby as she willingly volunteered to help. Outriders lunged at him, and he used his black gun to rain their bodies with bullets. But when one fell, two more appeared from behind it. He resorted to using his metal arm to punch through their ribcages and strangle their thick necks. Even though Bucky was a super soldier, he was still only one man.
Before another three could lunge at the Barnes with their jaws open, they bounced back with a metre between left between them. Bucky saw the shimmer of the forcefield when the aliens collided with it, and he swivelled his head around to find the woman who was responsible.
'Where are you, Storm?!'
'Here!'
Sue appeared next to him and jumped into a spin, sending a rain of invisible spikes through the air. They pierced through the Outriders' chests, but they only stumbled. They continued forward, their tongues leaking with saliva. Sue ducked as one jumped over her and she turned to face its belly. With one swipe of an invincible spike, the Outrider's guts spilt and its body dropped to the grass.
Bucky ripped the throat out of an alien to his right, seeing Sue land in a crouch before standing tall. Her hair was littered with flecks of alien blood and her suit shifted from red to blue as she moved. The Winter Solider knew Susan was powerful, but he had never seen her fully in action.
Any hesitance Sue had before the fight was gone. Her veins ran with the chill of her powers and she had never moved in the way she did before. She had little combat training, but the thing she did know were progress in the fight. She felt confident in herself, something she hadn't felt in a while.
'Weren't you pregnant like four months ago?' he asked in bewilderment, and Sue rolled her eyes.
'What's the matter, Robocop?' she tilted her head with a mocking smirk. 'Never seen a woman fight before?'
'Oh, I've seen women fight. Just not like you.'
'Save the affair for later, guys,' Steve ran past them, his voice in their earpieces.
'Wha-It's not an affair!' Sue cried. 'I would never-'
'Incoming!'
Bruce's cry in their ears made Bucky and Sue whip their heads up, seeing the Hulkbuster running in their direction. In the suit's large arms, were four Outriders that squirmed and clawed at the titanium-alloyed metal. Bucky and Sue backed away to give Bruce a path, and the suit reared his leg back and dropped the squirming aliens onto its foot. In a dropkick, the Outriders were sent up into the air, all four arms flailing and their jaws chomping mindlessly. Johnny, who just so happened to fly past, created a ball of flames and burnt their bodies to ash.
'Sorry, guys,' Bruce's suit looked down at Bucky and Sue, shrugging the suit's large shoulders sheepishly. 'I grabbed them and didn't know what to do with them.'
Sue went to reply, when a rumble erupted from the sky. A beam of light shot out from the ocean-blue and hit the grass with a force that shook under everyone's feet. Outriders paused and the Avengers with the Wakandian army looked to the glowing light, dreading what would emerge. An axe was thrown and electricity shocked surrounding aliens. Their bodies convulsed and were torn apart, before the axe retreated back as the beam of light dispersed.
In its place stood Thor Odinson, with two beings that were unfamiliar to the Avengers. Thor's hair was short, his golden locks gone with his planet of Asgard. His once missing eye had been replaced with another and his hand was clasped around the handle of the axe named Stormbreaker. By his side, was a racoon-like creature that stood on its hind legs. It held a foreign technology-powered gun, and although it barely reached Thor's hip, it was ready for a fight. On Thor's right, stood what could be described as a collection of tree roots. Large, black eyes sat in the head of wood and its legs were long compared to its abdomen.
'Hahaha! You guys are so screwed, now!' Bruce cried, looking at the Outriders that backed away from the arrival of the demigod.
'Bring me Thanos!' Thor's deep voice ordered, and he charged, the racoon and the tree creature running with him.
Sue and Bucky grinned at the return of the Asgardian. Believed to be dead, Thor sliced through aliens and was more powerful than ever. Sue was pulled back into the fight, when a claw ripped into her forearm that hung by her side. She hissed at the pain, and she sent a wave of invisible force outwards. The impact was enough to send the Outrider's chin upwards and snap its neck, a squeal coming from its throat before it died instantly.
She felt the sting at the cut that leaked down her suit, but she ignored it and turned to the next assailant that lunged at her.
'New haircut?' Steve made polite conversation with Thor as he used his Wakandian shield to cut through Outriders.
'Notice you've copied my beard,' Thor replied with a motion to his face. 'Oh, by the way, this is a friend of mine. A tree.'
'I am Groot!' the tree-root creature announced.
'I am Steve Rogers,' the Captain replied politely, unaware of the limited language the Groot was capable of.
'Thor!'
The demigod turned his head at the call of his name. Susan held a squirming ball of three Outriders, the outline of light blue quivering at the heavy weight inside. The Storm held the squished aliens up high, struggling to reduce its size from the sheer strength of their grotesque skin.
'Since you're here, a little help, please?!' she pleaded with squinted eyes at the concentration.
Thor obliged and charged his axe. Lightning slinking up the handle to the sharp edges and his eyes flashed an electric blue. He then willed a flash of lightning to strike the ball, the charge fizzing as it electrified its contents. Sparks flew and the Outriders melted into mush at the bottom of the ball. Sue let the blue disperse and the remains fell to the grass in a disgusting sludge that wafted steam and smelt of rotten flesh.
'I caught word of your birth, Susan Storm,' Thor smiled at the woman across from him. 'I expect he was graced with a name of the mighty gods.'
'She is called Morgan.'
'Morgan?'
Sue nodded, turning to send a sphere through the skull of an impending Outrider. Thor pondered the name before nodding, catching Sue's eyes when she turned to look back at him.
'She will be known as Morgan the Mighty, then.'
