Here comes Troyâs car. He gets off and walks to her.
A satisfied smile curves his lips as he crouches down beside Karin, patting her head. âYou are really waiting for me?â
Karin looks at his face without any expressions. She wants to say something but she canât as if a clog is stuck in her throat, not to mention her sweet smile she prepares.
âWhatâs the matter?â
He looks concerned as he finds her weird expression.
After a moment of deliberation, she answers, âIâm fine. Itâs just that Iâve stood for so long that my legs are numb.â
Trying to cover her anxiety and upset, she bends down to rub her knees.
âItâs my bad. Let me help you.â
âNo. Letâs get in.â
She stumbles and almost falls down to the ground, but Troy quickly grabs her from behind. Then he crouches down in front of her. âClimb up on my back,â he firmly demands.
She has no choice but to climb up on his back and get upstairs with him.
âHow do you like it?â
âWhat...â
âItâs the first time Iâve brought you upstairs with you on my back. How do you like it?â
Sheâs dumbfounded. âGood. I wish youâd do it for me more.â
âCome on. Iâm exhausted for once.â
After entering the bedroom, Troy places her in the bed and sighs, âItâs the first time Iâve treated a woman like this.â
âIs it my honor?â
âYou bet.â
He kisses her on the forehead with a smile. âIâve got work to do. Then Iâll come to keep you company.â
âOkay.â
Before leaving the bedroom, Troy looks back and says, âIâll be back soon.â
âYep.â She nods.
Lying in the bed sadly, she stares at the message, which reads, âLeave Troy, or youâll regret.â
She calls the strange number, but it has powered off. The bad guy threats her. If she doesnât leave Troy, the bad guy will send her photos to Troy.â
Suddenly, here comes another message. Sheâs startled and her phone slips out of her hand by accident.
But she decides to bring it up and face it.
âAre you sleeping?â
Sheâs relieved as itâs from Troy.
âNo.â
âFine. Remember not to get asleep until I finish my work.â
âDo you want to tell me something?â
She asks with fear, but then she realizes that if Troy wants to question her about the photos, he wonât look so happy.
âNot telling you but fucking you.â
She sighs and ignores his perverse message before deleting the message from the strange number.
Covering her forehead with her overlapped hands, she continues her deliberation. Sheâs got too much on her mind that she thinks that she sees her grandma walking to her with a smile.
âKarin, tell me about your troubles, and Iâll help you...â
âGrandma, I have a secret I canât tell my lover, but I donât want to lie to him. If I tell him, heâll break up with me. I really donât know what to do. Iâm going crazy...â
âJust follow your heart and tell him. Your love canât feed on a lie, you know?â
âShould I abandon this relationship with him?â
âItâs up to you as itâs your business...â
Then her grandmother leaves as she begs in screams, âDonât leave me, grandma. Please donât leave me...â
âKarin? Karin?â
Someone is gently calling her name. She suddenly flickers her eyes open and finds itâs a dream feels so real. She really needs some directions.
âA nightmare?â
Troy holds her tight in his arms, wiping out all the sweats on her forehead.
âNo.â
She takes a deep breath. âYouâve finished your work?â
âYep.â
âThen have a bath and go to bed.â
âWhy didnât you text back with me?â
Troy pinches her cheeks to show his dissatisfaction.
She lowers her head to dodge his gaze. âWhy to text with each other since we are in the same house...â
âHow boring you are.â
âIâm having a bath.â
âTogether?â
âNo.â
âThen neither will we have a bath.â
Troy overbearingly grabs her by the arms and looks into her eyes, saying, âDonât you know Iâve made of lust for you.â
âSo?â
âYouâre responsible for me.â
She coyly looks down. âDonât joke like that.â
âA joke?â He widens his eyes. âDo you think Iâm kidding?â
He suddenly put her on his shoulders and spins around as she screams, âPut me down. Iâm feeling dizzy.â
âI wonât stop until you promise youâll please me in the bed.â
âPut me down first.â
âPromise me first.â
âHow dare you!â
âBecause you love me.â
â...â
She says huskily, âCan you come back earlier the next evening?â
âWhy?â Troy holds her in his arms as they lie in the bed.
âI want to tell you something...â
âDo you have to fool me every day?â
âI mean it. I really want to tell you something.â
Without any reply, he falls asleep.
She finds his eyes look beautiful at night even if theyâre closed. Those eyes make her feel warm.
At all costs, sheâll tell him the truth this time.
She hasnât told her decision to Billie or Robert, for she âd afraid that theyâll stop her.
Feeling peaceful and calm, she waits for Troy at the doorway the next evening.
Troy comes home earlier and walks to her with a smile.
Karin walks up to him first. âTroie, letâs eat out.â
âDonât you want to tell me something first?â
âLetâs talk about it over dinner. I donât want Yuma to overhear it...â
âYou want to tell me a secret?â
âYouâll know it.â
Then they drive to a restaurant where Karin enjoys the delicious food with Troy together. She really wants to save the happiness they have shared forever.
âWill you tell me the secret after dinner?â
âWhat about going to the cinema after dinner?â
Troy frowns. âWhy canât you tell me about it now?â
âI will.â
She looks calm, however, sheâs anxious on the inside. Sheâs afraid sheâll never have the chance to eat out or watch movies with Troy like a happy couple.
On the way to the cinema, Troy warns her, âIf you donât tell me about it after the movie, youâll be a dead body.â
âDo you really want to know it?â
âOf course. You act weirdly today, and Iâm worried about you.â
She smiles. âRemember to buy me popcorns!â She redirects.
Itâs ten oâclock when the movie is over. Troy hastily asks, âCan you tell me now?â

Troy rubs his forehead and sighs. âYouâre driving me crazy.â
Before Troy drives her to the destination, Karin suddenly asks him to pull aside.
Troy feels confused as he pulls aside and follows her steps to get off the car.
Standing under a sycamore tree, she sighs, âThe second time I met you, you walked to me with sycamore leaves scattered on the ground. Your presence shocked me to death.â
Standing behind her, Troy feels bad as he hears her words. âWhatâs the matter, Karin?â
âI have a secret you donât know...â
âWhat?â
Karin slowly turns around with tears in her eyes. Sad as she is, she has to tell him the truth tonight.
She takes a deep breath and tell him what happened between her and William. Then sheâs not brave enough to meet his gaze as she can feel the cold in his eyes...
Silence spills between them. Karin breaks it first.
âTroie, I donât ask you to forgive me. I just want you to know Iâve never meant to cheat on you. Donât suppress your anger and disappointment if you want to reprimand me or beat me...â
