Chapter 1335 âBoss, Bernard is the head of Siren Organization. When 1-2 found out, instead of offing him, he actually put a bounty on me. That means heâs betrayed Area Opaca. Did you take care of him?â
1-1, without missing a beat, gave a slight nod, âI did.â
Hearing that 1-1 had dealt with 1-2, Sophie was over the moon, âI knew I could count on you.â
After complimenting him, she rose to her feet and made her way over to 1-1, placing her hands on his shoulders, âBoss, Iâve done a lot for Area Opaca. Donât you think I deserve a reward?â
1-1 looked down at the hands roaming his shoulders, âWhat kind of reward are you thinking, Ms. Ratliff?â
Completely oblivious to the murderous look in 1-1âs eyes, Sophie leaned in close to his ear.
âSince 1-2 is out of the picture, why donât you let me take his place?â
âSure, but...â
Seeing him agree but with a condition, Sophie was a bit anxious, âBut what?â
1-1 didnât rush to answer. He just picked up Sophieâs hand, and gently patted her palm.
âMs. Ratliff, didnât I say that operators are not to interfere with the playersâ fates?â
Sophie realized that 1-1 was blaming her for killing Eleanor and quickly started to explain.
âBoss, I broke the rules. I sent someone to kill her after the game was over. It was because of Bernardâs underhanded manipulation.â
âHe let Eleanor choose correctly, and then let her go. I thought she was someone who should have died in Area Opaca, so I went after her.â
âIs that so?â In response to Sophieâs justification, 1-1 simply chuckled.
This eerie laughter was absolutely terrifying in Sophieâs eyes. But she thought, having exposed the head of Siren Organization, her merits would outweigh her faults. 1-1 wouldnât really harm her, would he?
~
Who would have thought that no sooner had she thought this, than 1-1 suddenly grabbed her by the throat, slamming her head onto the conference table.
âHow dare you kill indiscriminately without my approval! Youâre asking for death!â
1-1âs grip was incredibly strong, and within seconds, Sophieâs face turned red and her body started convulsing.
Cameron, who had been standing nearby, thought 1-1 would commend them for their work. He never expected this outcome. Scared out of his wits, he rushed forward to try and save Sophie, but was held back by one of 1-1âs men.
Unable to fight back, all Cameron could do was plead for Sophieâs life, âSir, please spare my daughterâs life for the sake of what weâve done for Area Opaca!â
Indeed, they had helped Area Opaca with the list of Siren Organization members, but that was not a reason to brag. So 1-1 didnât even spare Cameron a glance. Instead, he was determined to choke Sophie to death.
âSheâs not dead!â Desperate, Cameron suddenly shouted out, âEleanorâs not dead!â
âI saved her! Please spare my daughter!â
Cameronâs pleas fell on 1-1âs ears, and he slowly released his grip, âNot dead?â
Cameron broke free from the manâs grip, rushed over to the barely-breathing Sophie, and started performing CPR, all the while tremblingly responding.
âShe should be alive. She was still breathing when I rescued her. Iâm just not sure if anyone came to save her after I left.â
Cameron eventually couldnât overcome his guilt, and halfway through his escape, he uncontrollably turned back.
He exerted tremendous effort to pull her out of the sea and onto the shore. After giving her minimal first aid, he abandoned her and left with his men.
The video was edited. There was no other way. He didnât want to disappoint Sophie, nor did he want Eleanor to die.
âWhere is she now?â
âIf no one else has rescued her, she should still be on the deserted island.â
1-1 signaled to one of his men, who understood and immediately left to find Eleanor.

Sophie, who was slowly regaining consciousness, lifted her bloodshot eyes and glared at Cameron, âWhy didnât you kill her?!â
âI...â Cameron didnât know how to face Sophie, and stuttered in response.
Upon seeing this, Sophie, filled with rage, grabbed Cameron by the collar, yelling hysterically.
âYou knew how much I hated Eleanor! Why didnât you help me kill her, why?!â
âBecause...â
âBecause Eleanor is his daughter.â
The words that Cameron couldnât voice, were spoken by Sheldon, who was standing nearby.
Cameron looked at Sheldon in surprise, his eyes filled with confusion, as if asking how Sheldon knew.
