Chapter 9: Chapter 8~ Warts are viruses

Renata sat there a second…then huffs “You’re rude! I thought my smiling face and sunny disposition would have you opening up. That would have been the easy way. But you chose to make it difficult’”

She stares at him intently…just waiting. She looks at her mate and smiles beautifully..just as he smiles back… The rogue coughs..and a bubble floats out of his mouth. The rogue yells “what the fuck!” as more bubbles pop out of his mouth. Renata says “Yeah..that? That’s only going to get worse….the longer you hold out. I must warn you though…eventually, you will drown.. and that’s that ‘never intentionally kill’ thing I was referring to a second ago. So…anything you wanna share with the class?” Still nothing..she walks over to Orion and he opens his arms and she snuggles in..they have a complete conversation about shopping…him needing new clothes…she wants to get a swimsuit for the pool no one told her was here…anddd

The rogue starts grabbing his throat and gurgling…she whispers oops and pulls back on the fluid..he yells “Andrew..My name is Andrew..and I was hired to recruit rogues to attack this pack “ Renata smiles and says “my work here is done! And look at the timer!! 2 minutes and 38 seconds! I just made 50 bucks! Life is good!” She kisses Orion and whispers “I’ll leave you to it”.. She opens the door and every single one of the guys are hysterical! She just shakes her head…but she smiles!

Orion tells the rogue “Andrew..start talking..because I really will choke you to death! My mate is kinder than I am” and Andrew spits out “ that wasn’t kind! That was vicious! I couldn’t catch my breath! That shit kept foaming in my throat! What did she give me? How did she do that?” Orion said nothing…

Andrew finally says “Fine! I was approached a little less than a year ago by this guy. Says he has a need for some men with special abilities.. He offered cash! Lots of cash…in the past 8 months I have recruited over 180 men. Then…orders came in to conduct sporadic attacks on this pack here. No real reason other to cause trouble and wreak havoc…to draw some big guy here. Don’t know a name. Just some important big guy..that guy who paid me said I’m supposed to let him know when the alphas here call him in.

Orion asks why the alphas father was targetted? Andrew replies “I was told that would bring the man he wants here…but we watch every day and there’s no new warriors or nothing here. So whatever that guy wants, ain’t happening “

“What’s the guy’s name and where did you meet him?” Orion asked…Amdrew replies “don’t know his name. He always wore a hoodie..the bar was dark.. can’t even give a good description. Met him at a dive bar in a little town up on Lake Erie in Pennsylvania.”

“And he never told you the name of the man he’s trying to draw out? Or the reason? Why does he want this guy?” Orion asks.. Andrew responds “No! And I didn’t ask…he paid me enough money to know better than to ask” … “Good enough…we are done for today” Orion leaves the man sitting there.

Seated around the conference table..Orion says “ Brian…research that little bar..see is they have any cameras we can hack.. Aaron..get with Matthew’s head tracker.. The rogue said they are watching the pack. I want all of them brought in….or dead! Their numbers should be diminishing, since some have died in the attacks here. Hell…we took 23 of them out of commission today alone!”

Matthew pipes up and says “Can we discuss bubbles popping out of that rogue’s mouth? That was some funny shit! Did y’all know she was going to do that?” They all laugh.

Abraham shakes his head ruefully and smirks “We don’t know everything she can do…she can heal…even plants…she hears them if they are hurting. When the plants are too far gone for her to heal…it physically hurts her and she cries. When she cries…it rains. And now, we know she can literally choke a man to death with bubbles! And had he died..it would have been entirely his fault, therefore she would not have ‘intentionally’ killed him” And the entire room busted out in laughter!

Kenneth says “And you lost 50 bucks!” “Yeah! That seems to be becoming a pattern! I should know better! Luna only bets a sure thing! And..Never call her short..or any names pertaining to size…I was told she’s heard all of them..’ pocketrocket….little bit…peanut…she’s fun size..pocket size…elf…she can fit in a suitcase to travel..or a pet carrier, so she can have air. She needs a booster seat at McDonalds…she’s a cheap date because she can order from the kids menu…and can she even see over the steering wheel…however did she get a license.. So..yeah..I set her off about her height!” Abraham laughs.

Kenneth was laughing so hard he had tears racing down his cheeks and says “Stop! Stop! My Goddess. That shit’s funny!” Brian says “you want funny? Wait until she rambles…she gets lost in her head and it’s hard to stop her. Aaron can..he brings her right out of it. Me? I’m just running around behind her…helter skelter…hoping she doesn’t follow through with half the shit she threatens!” And everyone laughs again. Kenneth looks at Orion “Hands full, baby brother?” Orion grins “And loving every second!”

By the time Orion crawled into bed, he was three sheets to the wind. It took him all of ten seconds to fall asleep. His drunk mind completely convinced himself it was because of his mate in his arms and Not the alcohol…Okay…maybe a bit of both!

The morning came early…but his beautiful mate had made sure he had water and ibuprofen to soothe his head.. He showered and went to find his love. And, just like he knew he would, she’s in the kitchen…grinding her coffee beans and cooking breakfast for everyone.. And everyone just happened to pop in because they smelled coffee.

Kenneth said “Renata, we are all going into town today to get Orion some ready to wear until the tailor can get him fitted…because…apparently 6’8 wasn’t tall enough…he had to have a growth spurt after marking his mate.” Earning an eyeroll from Orion and a giggle from Renata.

And before anyone could blink, Renata spoke “Yay! I need some things too. Are we going to a mall or boutique? Can we get ice cream? Is there a phone store? I need a new phone. I need panties because mine keep getting torn off. Is there a lingerie store? Or section in a boutique? What about a Victoria’s Secret? That would be good. Dash into VS and grab a dozen new panties and body spray! I need a swimsuit…a one piece though…….and Aaron says “Little fairy come out of your head” And absolutely everyone lost their shit! From Kenneth’s “oh my Goddess” and Matthew’s “Fuck brother!” Then Charles’ “That’s absolutely precious!” To Renata’s “what?” The laughter was uproarious!

They piled into 2 cars since they decided to go to an actual mall…and that was north by 30 miles…Renata and Brian wanted to sit in the “way back” and play something called ‘punchbuggy’ which apparently, Brian sucked at because he kept getting punched. Then it was an “I spy” game..to which the 3 up front heard “It better not be Matthew’s SUV again Brian! It better not be! That will be the third time! The third time, Brian! If it is, I’m giving you warts!” Brian returns with “It isn’t! I swear!….. Okay it is. But please don’t give me warts! Please Please Please! I will play fair on the way home. I promise!” She says “Fine! You promised! Everyone..you heard him promise. So, I won’t give you warts!…………..Warts are virus, dumbass…fairies can’t give viruses!” And everyone lost it..all over again!
