ii. Mi Amor {1}
I love you | StudxStud
A/N: Sahari's lesbianism is a journey so in ii she only sees herself as a tomboy bc technically that's all that she is. She's also still heavily in the church so she's gonna be a tad bit homophobic. Please don't be too mean or extra ignorant. Thank you and enjoy :)

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP 5:00 Am.
Sahari kept her eyes closed as she hits the snooze button and turned to her side. When it goes off again 5 minutes later she slowly raised up. She faced straight with her eyes still closed as she internally fights her sleep.
Then she feels her golden retriever's paw on her hand and she slowly opened her eyes. "I'm up Shine" she rasped, rubbing the top of their fury head.
She gets out of the bed and goes to pee. After she lets Funshine out from the back door, she brushed her teeth. Then put on her sweat pants and hoodie while the dog ate.
She grabbed his leash, her house keys and her iPhone 6.
After locking the door she stretched in the driveway and it woke her up. "Ready girl?" She mumbled as she puts on her baby blue headphones, her left ear not fully covered. She opened YouTube and goes to her gospel playlist. Before she pressed play she said a prayer in her head. Thanking God for waking her up and asking for protection over her and her dog, like she did before every morning run.
"Amen" she took a deep breath and tightened her grip on the leash. She pressed play and began to jog.
You Alone Are God by Marvin Sapp now playing.
"There's no question of Your greatness
No searching of Your power
All the wonder of Your glory
To You forty years is but one hour
Your knowledge is all encompassing
To Your wisdom there is no end
For You alone are God
You are God alone..."

Walking back into the house, she washed her hands then grabbed a water out of the fridge. Jayla was standing behind the door making Sahari jump. "I do that every morning and you still fall for it" Jayla giggled while Sahari chugged the water.
"Do you want me to make you something while you shower?" "Egg sandwich please" Jayla nodded and Sahari went to her bathroom and started the shower. She grabbed the hanger with her uniform on it out of the closet and sat it on her bed then started to undress.
After she showered, lotioned up, and put on her school uniform she took off her durag. She swooped her edges into her cornrows.
She grabbed her stuff then walked into the kitchen and heard Juno and Jayla talking. "You can wait, this is hers" then a giggle. "Eww it's too early for this" Sahari mumbled, slight disgust in her face. "You want some too?" Juno asked, walking up to her and before she could escape he pulled her into him and kissed her forehead making her groan and squint at him.
"I have to go" she shook her head and grabbed her wrapped sandwich, mumbling a low thank you. "Have a good day Mousey Pooh" Jayla gave her a hug and Sahari playfully rolled her eyes at the name. She got in her car, prayed over her food then took a bite while starting up the car.
Dewland Academy was a predominantly white, christian, private high school. They were mostly known for how amazing their sports were while still being "so Godly". Every student wore a white collared shirt, with the school logo on the right side, girls wore a navy blue ankle length skirt and boys wore navy blue slacks.
Fortunately for Sahari she got to wear slacks. Juno made a huge donation to the track team and the dean magically found a "condition" in her file and she no longer had to wear the skirt.
Sahari parked her 2015 Toyota Camry and finished the last two bites of her food. She grabbed her backpack out of the passenger seat then locked the car. When she was walking up to entrance the first bell rang making her walk faster because she didn't feel like hearing Jayla's mouth later on.
"Good morning! Please grab your papers on your way in, we will begin as soon as the second bell rings" Mrs. Hill spoke loudly as the students walked past her.
Sahari sat in her assigned seat, 3rd desk in the middle row. She was getting her folder out of her bag when she heard someone sitting behind her. "Psst" she ignored it, pretending to be digging far into her bag "psst Sahara" she felt the teen named Alex breathing on her neck. "Yes" she mumbled, not bothering to correct him on her name because she'd been his classmate since freshman year so she knew he knew what her name was and just didn't want to use it.
The white teen smiled "can I see your homework? My dog ate mine" he joked making his friends in the back snicker and giggle. Sahari rolled her eyes, but still handed him the paper.
"Good Morning, today is January 14, 2015. Today's lesson will be based on..." most of the class zoned out, but Sahari focused on her teacher and listened. Most teens would hate to have math 1st period but Sahari loved it, thrived on it. It got her mind going. Which is why she was in the Maths club for years, she only stopped going last year because it was starting to get in the way of track.
Today was what the school called "A Day". Meaning the students only had periods 1,3,5,7 and the classes were 1 hour and 20 minutes long.
Sahari's 7th period was yearbook and she loved it because it gave her the privilege to walk around the school. She wasn't supposed to wear her headphones during class, but she still did. She would sit on the bench on the field and take random pictures of the bugs, trees, sometimes the sky. It was her favorite thing to do to pass time at school.
Usually Sahari would be annoyed when she didn't have after school pre-season workouts, especially when she wasn't informed until the day of, but today she had plans after school.
She took off her uniform and put on a black and red memorial hoodie that had Cateleya's older brother on it, ripped black skinny jeans and red huaraches. She put on her gold jewelry which consisted of her nameplate, her initial, a cross and a butterfly. Then added 4 rings, two on each hand.
"Have fun, be safe. We're only a call away" Jayla made known as the couple sat the couch, cuddling. "Yes ma'am" "and tell Ms. Mendez that we're praying for her" Sahari nodded and left out.
She pulled up to her old neighborhood and parked her car infront of Cateleya's house that was already packed with cars.
Cateleya was sitting on the stoop, talking to a younger man Sahari had seen her with countless times. They seemed to be talking and laughing before she noticed Sahari's car and stood up while smirking. It gets the man's attention and they both looked Sahari's way before Cateleya's walks over to the car.
Sahari's stomach immediately fills with butterflies and she nervously starts fixing stuff about her outfit that didn't need to be fixed. When Cateleya opens her door she's hit with an overwhelming smell of Cateleya's cologne.
"Mi Amor" she greets in her usual gentle but slightly happy manner. She didn't wait for Sahari to greet back and pulled her out of the seat by Sahari's small frame. "Hi Lee" Sahari's wrapping her arms around Cateleya's upper body. Cateleya's arms tighten around her waist and she squeezed, which felt nice until she purposely squeezed tighter. Making Sahari pull back and mug her.
Cateleya chuckled and smiled while Sahari walked away and went towards the house. "Wassup Trackstar" Omar, Cateleya's homie greets, pulling out his lighter. "Nothing much, how about you?" "Shit.. chilling. Making that paper" he shrugged like it was his usual. "That's wassup" she mumbled, nodding "we'll be back, don't come in my ma face smelling like weed nigga" Cateleya warned her friend and Omar waved her off, not needing the youngins advice.
The house was blasting Ice Cube while being packed, everyone wearing red, black and a little white. Some faces were familiar to her, some not so much. "Want something to eat? Drink?" Cateleya asked into her ear and she shook her head "no thank you... wait did your mom make some of that mora juice?" "Uh maybe. Let's go ask her" Cateleya replied then grabbed Sahari's wrist so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd.
People kept stopping Cateleya to say hi or their condolences and after the 4th person she just straight up ignored them, getting annoyed.
Ms. Mendez was sitting at the dining table, laughing with a group of older women. "Mija so good to see you" they hug and Sahari inhaled the older woman's scent of perfume and cigarettes. "Hi Ms. Dez" Sahari took in the older woman's eye bags, and exhaustion on her face. She was wearing a red ruffled dress with a pin of her son's face on it.
"Mami ¿Hisiste Mora?" Cateleya asked and her mother smiled "la refrigerador" Cateleya nodded and they walked to the kitchen. "I like your outfit" Sahari announced while Cateleya's head was in the fridge. Cateleya found the juice, but took a minute to look up because she felt herself blushing.
"Thank you Mi Amor" Cateleya spoke with the same gentleness as earlier. She poured Sahari a cup then they stood close together, leaning backwards on the sink. Cateleya's phone dinged and she pulled out her SE "they going to the sto, you wanna go?" Cateleya asked and Sahari lightly nodded.
Not really caring where they went as long as she was with her friend.
"You want something?" Cateleya asked, chips and skittles in her head "no thank you" Sahari mumbled. She was standing by the ice cream, just waiting patiently.
After paying the group which consisted of Sahari, Cateleya, Omar, 2 other homies and another teen girl they walked out.
"I know you said you don't want anything but..." Cateleya handed Sahari a box. It was the mini box of green apple lemon heads, her favorite. "Thank you" she smiled, making Cateleya smile.
"Why you talk so low?" "Trina" "what?? Don't tell me y'all weren't think it" she chuckled making the two boys do the same.
"Mind your fucking business. Just cause you talk loud as fuck don't mean everyone else wants to. Fucking puta" Cateleya defended and the boys laugh louder making Trina roll her eyes.
"Why you always defending her? She can speak for herself. She's gonna leave your broke ass in a few months anyways" Trina put her hand on her hip, face turned up. "Broke? You wish, you just asked me fa money a couple days ago" Cateleya waved her off.
"You're so mad and she didn't even deny it. Just watch" Trina rolled her neck "Trin why you being a bully bruh" one of the boys asked while smiling. She smirked smugly "I'm not, but I don't understand why her quiet bougie ass keeps coming around? She just comes to show off. It's like we get it you go to a nice school and drive the newest cars. Better be lucky no one has stolen that muthafucka" Trina continued.
She was so pumped up because the boys were laughing she didn't notice Cateleya coming closer to her. She cocked her hand back and hit Trina dead in her lip. "Say something else bitch, ima black your eye next" Cateleya threatened and Trina covered her throbbing lip.
"Trina just go home man foe she beat yo ass" Omar advised, shaking his head.
But she didn't need to because Cateleya already planned on leaving. Without even having to look at Sahari she already knew she was uncomfortable and closed up. Which was the last thing Cateleya wanted especially at the hands of her so called friends.
"Let's go" Cateleya mumbled to Sahari as she stood there watching everything unfold, wishing she brought her headphones so she could tune them out. "Ima hit you later" Cateleya dapped Omar as he nodded "bye Trackstar" and Sahari waved.
On the walk back to her car Sahari felt bad, she didn't want Cateleya to leave her friends for her. "You don't have to leave. I wasn't even offended" she made known. She had been called stuck up and bougie for years. People just didn't understand that she was quiet, only spoke when spoken to and hated small talk unless it was with Cateleya or Rayven, and sometimes her guardians.
"You wanna go get some chilli cheese fries?" Cateleya asked, ignoring what Sahari just said.
Sahari lightly sighed, but still nodded. "Can I drive?" Cateleya asked and Sahari gave her the keys.
"You know I could've paid for us" Sahari made known lowly "you think I'm broke too?" Cateleya playfully asked. "Not like that, you just never let me do something nice for you" Sahari brought up. "I don't need you to, just being in your presence is enough. You came here today to be there for me and my family, that's enough for me" Cateleya shrugged.
Before Sahari could reply their number was called and Cateleya went up to the food truck.
"Wanna go watch the sunset?" Sahari asked as she was walking back over: Cateleya felt better about today already.
They were sitting on a mini cliff, legs hanging, white container of food on their lap.
"I'm surprised you're really eating this" Cateleya mentioned as Sahari was pulling her fork out her mouth. "Why?" She asked, even though she knew the answer. "Food that doesn't give me models isn't any food I wanna eat" Cateleya repeated the words that left Sahari's lips many times.
Sahari chuckled "season hasn't started officially yet... I also miss our food trucks" Sahari explained. The people in her neighborhood would definitely call the cops on the food truck owner if anyone tried it over there.
"Hmm what else do you miss?" Cateleya asked, swallowing her food. "The candy house, ugh a koolaid pickle" Sahari sighed as she reminisced one of her favorite childhood treats. "I had one last night, it really was good. But is that all?" Cateleya asked and Sahari nodded even though she knew what her friend wanted her to say.
"Wow okayy" Cateleya nodded, turning her head towards the sun that going down. They watched in silence for a few seconds before Sahari burst out laughing.
"You are so conceited. You want me to say I miss you so bad... You're over my house every other day" she smiled and shook her head. Cateleya snickered, even though her plan didn't work.
"Speaking of... Can I stay over tonight?" "You don't want to stay with your mom?" "She's just gonna drink and blast music all night, ion feel like hearing all that right now" Cateleya sighed, poking at her food.
"Well in that case I'm always down for a Cari night" Sahari replied, and Cateleya was about to smile before she paused. "Wait- is that our names together?" Cateleya smiled widely.
"Mhm" "sooooo cornyyyyy" Cateleya laughed "straight off the cob" she continued and that one actually made Sahari laugh.
"Shut up" she mushed Cateleya and playfully rolled her eyes. "Yahari" is way better" Cateleya smiled and nodded, feeling the name. "Hell no. Ghetto as heck" Sahari's face scrunched up then she shook her head.
"Oh like Sahari isn't?" "It's in the Bible" "I call bullshit" Cateleya smacked her lips making Sahari laugh loud and hard. Reminding Cateleya of the first time she ever made her laugh.
"Just for that you're going to the track with me in the morning" Sahari smirked "que? Me?" Cateleya asked as she pointed to herself. Sahari chuckled "yes" "the devil is a lie" "stopp" Sahari grabbed Ceteleya's arm.
"I might have to stay home..." "Stop playing" "you tryna kill me" "I didn't say you had to run- "oh you want me to be your #1 fan girl?" Cateleya asked, wiggling her bushy eyebrows.
"Something like that" Sahari smiled and they made eye contact. "I love your brows you know" "only cause you don't have none" Sahari gasped while trying to stop herself from smiling.
"Tuh last time I compliment you" "you wouldn't stop even if you were paid to" Cateleya responded and Sahari could only smile because she knew it was true.
