Chapter 13

Dom's POV

(Dom and Stef's bedroom)

*Stef scream's*

"It's almost out, just hold on babe." I say trying to calm Stef as Kate tries for the third time to remove the claw from the deep hole on her side.

A stray tear rolls down her rose red cheek. As gentle as possible I wipe it aside and stroke her long, beautiful, black hair.

"One last pull, and it will be out." Kate says never lifting her eyes from her work.

"On three."

Stef squeezes her eyes shut.

Seeing her in this much pain is literally tearing me and jay apart, but I know that we have to be strong for our mates.

"One..." Kate begins the count.

Stef bites down on her hand.

"Two..."

I can't take the suspense, I can feel the stress building up in my shoulders.

"Just pull the damn thing out already!" My patients explodes into a million tiny pieces, and falls, unseen, onto the bed.

Kate doesn't bother to question my self destruction.

"Three." Yet she still finishes the count then yanks the claw from its recent position.

Stef winces but doesn't scream in pain.

"It's out, now all we have to do is serialize the wound the patch it up."

Stef is about to release her hand from her mouth when Kate stops her and says...

" You might want to keep that in there."

Stef does as told.

Kate pulls out a big bottle of alcohol, medical alcohol that is, and opens the top.

"This is going to sting, but only for a few seconds." God I wish she would just get to it, this is why I couldn't be a doctor. I'm to impatient.

With out a cotton ball or towel she tips the liquid over, releasing it from the bottle and onto Stef's exposed skin.

Stef's back arches off the bed and shakes as the stinging subsides.

"There we go, all done love." I coax while stroking her hair again.

A bandage is place over the wound.

"Now, since it's late you don't need to change the bandage tonight, but some time tomorrow and after every three hours you will need to change the bandage until the bleeding stops." Kate instructs packing up her tools.

"Ok, thanks Kate." It's only right that I thank her, I mean I did snap at her just a few minutes ago, and she sort of saved my mate.

Stef manages a 'thank you' before Kate leaves the room.

"This won't affect my heat tomorrow, right?" She asks between a small yawn.

"Hopefully not." I stand up from the bed.

I send a quick text to my father saying...

She needs to get some rest, call me in the morning with details.

"You need to get some rest." I state as I remove my shirt an pants.

She watches my every movement from the light switch then to the other side if the bed.

I climb in and lightly tug her by her thighs to my chest.

"What did you do to that guy?"she asks.

"Well I roughed him up a bit, but I had to keep him alive, so they could take him in for questioning. But believe me If it wasn't for my father I would have ripped the piece of shit to pieces."

It's quiet for a few seconds then a small "oh." Falls on my ears.

(The next morning)

*Ring Ring*

*Ring Ring*

I'm awakened by my phone ringing, the caller ID says dad.

I gently climb out of the bed and pad over to a window in hopes if not waking Stef.

I slide the green bar to answer.

"What did you find out?" I whisper, getting straight to the point. It's way to early for hello's.

"Well the kids name is Jonathan Brooke, he's 17 years old, and he's from the light dynasty pack about two hours away from where you are."

"So he's not a rouge?" He was alone so its a possibility that he ran away or something.

"From what we know, he's not a rouge."

"Then what the hell was he doing here, by himself?" Things aren't adding up.

"That's what he wouldn't tell us."

"Well if he doesn't wanna tell you, maybe if I beat the shit out..." Im cut off.

"That won't help, we're planing on taking him back to the light dynasty pack to make sure they don't have any motives on making a move against us, then if they don't they can do whatever they want with him."

Damn it I was really hoping I would get to finish the bastard off.

"Listen, Dom we have to do this today, before the dynasty pack puts out a MWS (missing wolf search) and everything backfires on us, and it looks like we're keeping him captive."

Your fucking kidding me.

"Cant you all just go without me, you know her first heat is tonight?"

"I know, I'm sorry Dom, but you both are apart of this case. And as the up-and-coming alpha of our pack it's your duty to be present, you and Stef both." He explains.

I know he feels bad about this but it's his, and my job to do what's best for this pack.

"What time?" I stare out of the window looking at tall trees and soaring birds.

"It was seven, but we can move the time back to try and get you both back home before the full moon, but the earliest I can say is five."

I run an uneasy hand through my growing hair.

"Ok, have everyone meet over here at four and we'll go from there."

"See you then." I don't say an ok or a goodbye I just end the call.

"Shit." I want to throw my phone out of this window.

"Dom, is everything ok?" Her soft tone changes my attitude instantly.

"No, I have some bad news." I continue to stare out of the window.

"What is it?"

"We have to go to the light dynasty pack, which is about two hours away, to handle some things." I scratch the back of my neck.

"Today?"

I nod.

"But the full moon is today?" I can hear her shift in the bed.

"I know, but we should be back before the moon rises."

I hope.

"Ok." The uncertainty in her voice makes me want to just call my father back and tell him that I don't give a shit what he says, and that we're staying here.

"Yeah, you and Danny can ride with us." I tell max as Stef and I leave our bedroom.

"Ok cool, so alpha wright called a team of 18, that's three groups of six, and three cars plus yours." He explains to me as we descend down the stairs and out the front door.

"That's fine, just make sure he's contained in one of those cars."I say referring to Jonathan.

I look around to see my father has brought some of the best worriers we have in our pack. Just in case.

"Listen up!" Silence fills the air.

"Now, we are not going to light dynasty land to fight! We are going to get answers! If any of you step out of line I will personally kick your ass." I smile after the last part.

"If something comes up and we do have to fight no one, I repeat no one gets left behind! Injured or even on the brink of death no one gets left behind! Do I make myself clear?!" The alpha within me really shows right now.

"Yes alpha Dom!" Everyone says in unison.

"Let's move out!" I take Stef's hand and intertwine it with mine, as I lead her to my BMW.

Max and Danny follow close behind.

"I'll drive up, you can drive back." I tell max as I open the car door for Stef. He does the same for Danny.

Before max and I climb into the car I ask him...

"Hey, Danny's first heat is tonight too right?"

"Yeah, this whole dynasty trip thing was sort of a surprise for us too." I guess max and I are in the same boat.

(30 minutes into the drive)

"Hey, Dom?" Max says tapping my shoulder from the backseat.

"What max." The drive has been pretty quite until now.

"I kinda have to piss."

"Max what the hell I told you to go before we left the house." I whisper/yell so I don't wake the two sleeping girls.

"No you didn't." I really didn't.

"I know, but I should have. We can't pull over now, we're on a time schedule." We really don't have the time to stop.

"But I really have to pee." He squirms in the back.

"Well you better not piss in my car, cause we still have an hour and a half to go." I put two hands on the wheel as I chuckle.

Max mumbles something under his breath.

"What was that?" I look at max through the review mirror.

"Nothing." He crosses his arms and pouts like a child.

The rest if this drive should be interesting.

Helloo! Let me know how this chapter is because I wrote it even though I have a 'cold' and a MASSIVE headache. And to top it all off I have school tomorrow. I know sad right? Anyways I was on the website this morning and we have reached 4k!!!!!! I'm just soooo excite XD
