Dom's POV

"Your not blaming yourself for this Stef, there should have been guards at every door, like I ordered!"

"But Dom listen, I told the guys to take a break. It wasn't there fault." She pleads.

"I shouldn't have left you here." I tug my hair out of my face.

I don't care if she told them to take a break or not. They were given direct orders from their alpha and they failed me.

I guess if I wouldn't have left in the first place this shit wouldn't have happened.

I sit down on the end of our bed.

She limps over to me in her walking cast.

"Listen, you can't blame yourself and you can't blame the pack. The only one at fault here is me..."

Instantly I start to cut her off.

"Shh..." She puts a finger over my lips to silence me.

I stay quiet as she continues.

"I just missed you so much Dom." She says wrapping her arms around my neck.

Her touch alone takes away some of the stress, not all but some.

"I missed you too Stef." Wrapping my arms around her waist I pull her as close to me as possible.

She pulls back to touch my face but I stop her when I see the dark bruises that mark her tan skin.

"It's ok Dom. I'm ok."

She might be saying that now but I can only imagine how much pain 'he' caused her to do this much damage. The more I analyze every bruise, and every scratch on my mates body the guiltier I feel.

"I'm so sorry Stef." I then kiss every single bruise on her arm.

A warm smile forms on her face.

"What are you doing Dom?"

"Apologizing." I breath.

She stays quiet while I pull up her tank top to kiss the small bruise on her hip.

"Come on." She says yanking me off of the bed.

She pulls me into the bathroom and peals off her tank top then my shirt.

"You know you can't shower in that thing right?" I question pointing to the thick black cast on her leg.

"We're not taking a shower. Can you get the bubble bath?" She smiles up at me.

Underneath the sink I pull the bubble bath from the cabinet.

She turns the knob labeled H for hot water and I pour in some of the bubble bath.

"Pants off." She instructs.

I laugh at her cuteness as I take my jeans off.

Looking at my reflection in the mirror I notice my hair has gotten longer.

"I need a hair cut."

I push my boxers down then step into the hot water. My long legs leaving minimal room for Stef.

"Close your eyes." Another demand.

"I've already seen you fully naked Stef."

"Oh just close our eyes Goldie locks." She says mocking my hair.

I close my eyes and sink lower into the hot water.

After our time in the bath we've literally spent a half hour laying in bed talking about my hair. I explained to her when I was really really young my hair was long, brown, and curly, but over the years it's grown straight and changed to a blondish color.

"I really think you would look cute with..." Stef is interrupted by a knock at the door.

I tell her to stay put as I scoot out of the bed and open the door.

Max stands before me.

"Max I'm really not in the mood to..."

"Can we just talk?" He says not making eye contact.

For the past couple of hours I've tried not to think about the situation and only focus on Stef but I guess now is better than later.

I close the door behind me not wanting Stef to hear our conversation.

"Listen, Dom, I know your pissed at me right now but I...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry,"

He's trembling now.

"Later after you came back I thought to myself if I where you and something where to happen to Danny... I don't, I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to her." I've never seen this side if max and we've been inseparable for 18 years.

"Max look at me,"

He looks up at me.

"It's ok. Everything is ok." He laughs like he doesn't believe me.

"That's just it, it's not ok. When I saw Stef on the ground covered in blood I immediately thought of Danny and how I might not be able to protect her as well as I thought."

"Dude are you about to cry on me?!" I say pushing him backwards.

"No."

I know this is a serious moment but I can't help but laugh.

"Your such a dick man." He wipes his eyes and laughs with me.

"Listen we'll talk later but right now I need stone, and bell here and in my office in fifteen."

"Yessir." He jogs down the hallway and down the stairs.

As soon as I push the door open an ear piercing scream leaves Stef's beautiful lips.

"What the hell is going on? Why are you screaming?"

I stand at the end of the bed looking at her laying in the bed.

"Look!" She yells tossing me her phone.

"What is the 1975?" I ask reading the black and white print on the phone.

"Omg?! Your kidding me right?" I look up at her.

"Nope I'm not kidding you." I scroll further down the page the see...

"You've never heard of this band?" I shake my head no.

"This show is next week?"

"Well then we have to go. It's the only way." She completely ignores my comment.

I scroll back up to the top and look at the bands picture.

The lead singer, I suppose has a weird hair cut but it kinda works for him. I probably couldn't pull that off.

"Their from Manchester....in England."

"I know cool right? Matty's accent with and the songs just fit together perfectly." She explains as if I know this band.

"Is matty the um, lead singer here with the hair?"

"Yeah, cute right?" She grins.

"Hell no." I chuck her phone on to the bed.

"What? He's cute." She stands up on the bed.

"Whatever you say but I have a meeting in a couple of minutes..."

She cuts me off.

"Can I come?" She limps closer to me.

I'd love for her to come but we're gonna be talking about her.

I take a couple steps over to the dresser.

"You can come after the meeting." I say putting on a white T.

"Yeah, ok."

She stairs at my abs the whole time.

Fuck she's so damn cute.

Hello! I have soo much news. First off I went to The 1975 concert in Columbus, OH last night and it was amazing!!! Like I said before I have a lot if plans in line for this year, and I'm so excited. I'll be in Detroit twice this year, I'll be in Florida, Philly, Atlanta and a few other places!!! Let me know if you guys are doing any traveling anytime soon, I wanna know!!! Big shout out to the 1975 and crew. They put on a great show last night.
