Chapter. 39

Stef's POV

"Come on, It's warm enough now. Let's go to the beach." Dom whines dancing around the kitchen.

"Maybe I don't want to go to the beach."

I sit at the island and poke at the sandwich that Dom has made for me.

"Why not! The sun is out, it's warm, I wanna see you in a sexy bikini..." He whispers the last part.

"What will we do at this beach?"

I smirk and look up at him.

"We will have fun, I promise." He says walking towards me.

"Fine I will go."

He starts kissing my cheek

"Only, If Mia comes." I smirk.

He ponders for a moment.

"Sure, why not?"

I nod and murmur. "She's gonna love it."

The car is all packed and ready to go. Max, Danny, and Mia are in the car waiting for us. And I'm waiting for Dom.

"Maybe we shouldn't go to the beach. I mean it might rain or something." I suggest sitting on our bed.

"I've checked the weather twice today, it's supposed to sunny all day."

I watch him pack the sunscreen.

He looks so excited. So I don't wanna be a party pooper.

"Ready!" He holds his hand out for me.

I smile, take his hand and leave the house.

When we get in the car I sit in the backseat with Danny.

Dom starts the car and starts driving.

The closer we get to the beach the more nervous I get and the more this bikini rides up my ass.

Dom was right the sun is shining and people are out enjoying it.

"We're here!" Max shouts and jumps out of the car when Dom parks.

I frown and get out of the car.

I take Mia's hand and all together we walk on the sand and found an open area to set our things.

"Are we gonna build a sandcastle stefanie?" Mia squeals jumping around in her little pink and white polka dot onesie.

"We're going to build the best sandcastle ever!" I tell her as Dom lays a towel on the sand.

I take off my shorts and tank top leaving a hot pink strapless two piece bikini. Mia and i are sort of matching.

I look to my left and see Dom laying on his back shirtless. Toned 8 pack in view.

After a few more seconds he looks over at me and smiles.

I love him to death.

"Wanna get in the water?" He asks sitting up.

Immediately Mia jumps up and yells "me!"

I hadn't noticed max and Danny we're already out by the water. I look away.

"Let's go." Dom holds out both of his hands, Mia takes one.

Quickly I try and think of a way out.

"Um I'm going to put some sunscreen on first."

He looks down at me concerned.

He will try and read my thoughts I know it. I try my best not to let him.

"I'm not really comfortable leaving you here by yourself." He says looking at our surroundings.

"I'll be fine I just want the spf to soak in."

I smile weakly in hopes that he'll just go.

I don't want to ruin anyone's fun with my problems. Not even Dom.

"Are you sure?" He says questioningly raising and eyebrow.

I nod.

After another long look at me he and Mia turn and start towards the water. In the process he pulls Mia up onto his shoulders.

I watch the moment in awe.

They both smile and laugh as they play in the shallow water. Dom never letting go of her hand.

I take a couple of pictures of them with my phone then lay on my back and close my eyes.

The sunlight that was once warming my body is blocked by someone.

I squint and look up. Dom is standing over me.

"Where's Mia?"

He looks over at the water.

"She's with Max and Danny." He says pointing to them.

I spot them.

Out of nowhere he picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.

"Where are we going Dom?"

He doesn't answer.

I start panicking when the sound of the waves gets louder.

"Dom!"

"We're just gonna get a little wet." He laughs.

"Take me back Dom!"

I'm gonna cry I can feel the tears brimming.

"You don't want to swim with the fish?" He jokes lowering me down a little.

"No!"

He still thinks I'm kidding but, my heart is pounding, and the tears have started falling.

I can tell he's already knee deep in the water.

I don't want to be here. I can feel it. A shark is just waiting out there to eat me, or maybe a giant whale.

I wrap my arms around him as tight as possible as I shiver in fear.

He lowers me a bit further.

"Dom please!" I beg.

This time he realizes how serious I am.

"What's wrong pup?"

I feel him stop.

"Take me back now!" I hide my red and teary face in the crook of his neck.

"Okay."

He turns around and starts back.

I open my wet eyes and see sand on the ground.

"Let me go." I say wiggling out of his grasp.

Once I'm on the warm sand again I run over to our things, grab Dom's keys, then basically sprint to the car.

All while Dom is yelling my name.

Knowing he'll be not to far behind me I hurry into the car and lock the doors.

Once I'm inside the car I gather my breath and just let the tears flow.

"Stef?!"

As expected Dom is right outside the car lookin in at me.

I lay on my stomach shielding my moist face from him.

He jerks at the door handle and knocks on the window.

"Stef baby I'm sorry. Whatever it is I'm sorry. Just let me in." His voice Is muffled through the window.

I don't wanna tell Him. It's stupid.

"Please unlock the door."

I hear his concern and sit up and wipe my noes.

Not wanting him to see me like this I turn the other way but unlock the doors.

The door swings open and the cars weight shifts a little.

"Hey, come here." His voice is soft and comforting.

I shake my head.

The last thing I wanted to do was let him see me cry over something so stupid.

"Stefanie amber Moore..."

I know he's serious so I scoot closer to him.

When I'm in his reach he pulls me by my hips onto his lap.

"Tell me what's wrong pup? Don't bullshit me, I want the truth." He states wiping away a tear.

It could be better to tell him now.

I take a deep breath and cross my arms.

"I'm afraid of water."

"Why?" He asks stroking my thigh.

"Because of the things that live in it Dom! Big things that will eat me. This is just a dangerous place all around. Why swim in water where you can't see the bottom. Finding nemo lied to everyone."

I pant after my rant.

He giggles.

"Don't laugh at me!" I whine putting my head in my palms.

"I'm sorry I just never would have guess you to have a phobia of water."

He pulls my hands away and lifts my chin.

He looks me in the eyes.

"I can't swim Dom. I would drown myself before a shark could chomp me to pieces."

I use my hands to demonstrate a shark eating me.

"If you don't know how to swim we'll take lessons." He says taking my hands in his.

"Nope I am seventeen. I think I'll just keep my distance from water."

He kisses each of my hands.

"I'm sorry pup. I drove you to this." He apologizes again cupping my tear stained face.

"You didn't know."

He takes the keys from me.

I'm in the water.

I'm drowning.

He's at the shore, yelling my name.

Why won't he help me?

My feet are in a panic looking for something to hold me up but there's nothing but the deep, dark depths of the sea.

"Help me!" I cry out but he doesn't hear me.

Vibrations crescendo through the water.

"No!"

He's pointing now.

Confused. I try to stay above water to understand him.

He keeps pointing towards me.

The vibrations become louder.

It's when i finally turn around I see the giant whale before me, with its mouth wide open, ready to devour me.

Why didn't he save me!?

I start fighting. Swinging my arms and legs arms.

Why didn't you save me?!

He watched me die.

"Stef!"

He shouts.

Maybe I'm not die yet.

But I see nothing but darkness. I must be dead.

The hot tears fall but I keep fighting.

"Step baby wake up!"

Wake up? This isn't a dream. Is it?

A pair of cold hands grasp my shoulders and shake me.

Light creeps into my view.

He's above me now.

He didn't save me.

"That's it stef open your eyes." He says touching my cheek.

I look up at him the at my surroundings.

There's no water. No whale.

Just the bedroom and Dom.

"It was a dream?"

"It was only a dream." His holds me in his arms tightly.

If it was a dream why didn't he save me?

I'm confused and weak.

"I will always save you Stef. Aways."

His voice wavers like he's about to cry.

Oh man.

"I hit you?" I ask as he lays back down and pulls me close.

"You hit me repeatedly. I thought you were just flinching in your sleep at first but then you started screaming."

"Screaming?" I bite my nail.

"I was scared but I will always save you Stefanie Wright."
