Chapter 20: Eyes of a Shadow

Chapter 20: Eyes of a Shadow...

I held Jayden's hand as I led him to the small clearing I went to whenever Kegan would hurt me or if I needed a place to clear my mind. He silently walked beside me and I could see the internal battle he was fighting on his face. Like Iris said all I had to do was aid his wolf and help him heal.

Simple, right?

The twigs under our shoes snapped and the leaves rustled in the wind. The forest floor was beginning to get covered in colours of red and yellow. I walked to the big rock I had found as a kid and stopped in front of it.

"This was where I came whenever I wasn't feeling well or when I really missed my parents. The forest always brought me closer to them and made me feel safe. I thought if we were going to help bring you closer to your wolf it should be here." I squeezed his hand and watched him look at the rock. He took my other hand and brought me in front of him.

"If this doesn't work I'm sure there will be another way to break the bond. Don't beat yourself up about it." He said brushing my cheek lightly with his hand. I watched his eyes as they stared into my own and I knew he was saying that for his own satisfaction more than mine.

I gave him a tight smile and nodded. He dropped my hands and closed his eyes. I watched his tense expression and how he brought his eyebrows together in concentration. I watched how the wind carried the longer stands of his hair to his forehead and his strong jaw line tensed when he sensed my stare. He had stubble decorating his defined jaw line making him look older than he actually was. I placed my hand on his cheek and reached up to place a light kiss behind his ear before whispering.

"I'm going to start now."

I pulled back and grabbed his hands in my own. I closed my eyes and tried to find his wolf in him and look past his human side to his animal side. I searched his entire being and scoured his aura. I kept hitting a block when I looked for his soul. I couldn't sense or feel any warmth coming from his subconscious.

"You're blocking me. Allow me access to your mind. Don't be tense."

I saw him nod his head and I tried again searching for the wall built up by his wolf. I kept running into it and I couldn't find a way around it. His wolf wasn't responding to me and Jayden was allowing his human side to conceal him. I made a sound in the back of my throat and I tried again to knock down the wall his wolf created.

"I can feel you inside my body and I know it's not working." Jayden said and pulled his hands away from me. He stepped back and leaned against the rock. He hung his head low and his posture showed exhaustion.

"It's your wolf. I know where he is and he has built a wall around him to protect himself. Your human side has become more dominant. I just need to connect with your wolf." His wolf wasn't recognizing me as his mate but if I were to appeal to his animal instincts then maybe he would feel comfortable enough to let me in. Getting an idea I walked over to Jayden and wedged myself between his legs. I placed my hands on his chest and opened the top three buttons to his shirt.

"Wha─" I didn't let him finish and I ducked my head down to his neck and began planting open mouthed kisses along his pulse. I pulled the elastic band out of my hair and let it fan around us so my scent would be stronger. I heard Jayden groan and he sat up taller on the rock bringing me closer. I pushed his hands off my hips and moved them back on the rock.

"You're not allowed to touch me." I whispered fanning my breath on his ear. I opened another button of his shirt and placed kisses along his chest. I felt him groan and his hands came up to my hips again. But before he could touch me I pushed them back in place at his sides. I felt him becoming impatient and his chest vibrated with an anxious groan. His love for me as a human was still overpowering his primal lust from his wolf. I kissed up his chest until I reached his mouth. I placed light kisses along the side of his lips not fully kissing him but teasing his wolf. My hands found their way under his shirt and I felt his abs clench.

I whispered in his ear in an air voice, "I am so ready to mate with you. All I want is you."

I felt him groan but this time I senses a stirring inside of him and the wall that his wolf hid behind was beginning to crumble. Testing my luck I pulled his ear lobe between my teeth and bit down. I felt a deep growl coming from within Jayden's mind and feeling that I was almost there I pulled back staring into Jayden's pitch black eyes. Giving him one last look I slammed my lips against his. I moved my lips coaxing his wolf and I felt him response right away. His lips were soft and his breathing was deep. My hands went to the remaining buttons on his shirt and within seconds I pushed it off his shoulder and pressed myself against his bare chest.

Jayden's hands were low on my waist and they lingered at the base of my sweater. I guided his hands up and he threw my sweater where his shirt now laid. I wrapped my hands around to his back and I felt my body burn with desire. Where ever our skin touched I felt desire pool in my core. He bit my bottom lip coaxing a deep moan to escape from my lips. His hands were in my hair and I felt his tongue slip between my lips and massage itself against my own. My nails dug into his back and I felt a vibrating growl escape his chest right before I felt the wall around his wolf crumble.

Jayden growled and pulling back for a split second to give me a wolfy smirk he grabbed my legs and hoisted me up against his body. He had me pressed against a tree and my legs wrapped tightly around him. Jayden was gone and he was running only on his lust for me. I sensed his wolf and the lust he felt for his mate.

Jayden placed wet kisses along my exposed chest and he pulled the straps of my bra down. I shivered with desire and pulled him closer to my core which was calling out to him. I felt something sharp on my shoulder and I looked at Jayden to see his canines were elongated and his eyes showed a territorial gleam.

"I want to mark you as mine." Jayden's voice was laced with his wolf and his words resonated deep from within him.

"I'm yours." I said leaning my head to the side giving him access to the unmarked skin where my neck connected to my shoulder.

I felt Jayden's hold on me tighten and wave of pleasure passed through me making my legs go weak. I was breathing hard and my body was burning for him to mark me. I dug my nails deeper into his back and I felt his hands move to my back. He held me in place as he unclasped my bra and dropped it beside us. I pressed my breasts against his chest and I heard a growl of pleasure escape his lips right before he bit down into my shoulder.

I felt my world crumble and I screamed out his name in pure bliss. I felt his tongue slowly drawing out blood from my neck before licking the wound clean. My body pulsated in pleasure and I felt as if I was on cloud nine. My nails drew blood from his back and when he pulled back I saw some of my blood was still on his canines. He kissed me and I cleaned the remaining blood completing the blood exchange. I ran my tongue along his canines and shuddered with pleasure when the wind blew against my fresh mark.

"I love you so much." Jayden whispered between our lips. I smiled and he drew ducked his head kissing the top of my chest. "So beautiful." He trailed light kisses down my breasts making the fire within me build up again. "We want you so bad."

"We?" I moaned weaving my hands in his hair. He trailed kisses up to my neck and stopped at my lips.

"Yes, we. My wolf and I want you really bad." He said smirking. "And judging from the claw marks I can feel in my back. You want us too."

I blushed but feeling happy that he connected with his wolf I returned his smile and said, "Want to race me?"

"Sure, let's see how this wolf of mine looks."

He placed me on the ground and I quickly collecting my clothes. I focused on my wolf and within a second I stood in front of Jayden in my hazel wolf. I nodded my head telling him the shift and I saw him begin to take off his shoes and then unbuckle his jeans. I turned around when I realised he was stripping down naked.

Angel, in less than an hour I am going to have you under me screaming out my name like you just did moments ago. I'm all yours, might as well take a look now.

I sensed his laugh through the link and I heard a thud behind me. I turned around and where Jayden stood moments ago stood and dark brown almost black wolf. The wolf had distinct grey eyes and the green was gone.

You have the most exotic and beautiful grey eyes.

Eyes of a Shadow. All wolves from the Shadow's blood line have grey eyes when they shift. I guess Iris was right. My wolf just needed his mate.

I trotted towards him and nuzzled my head in his neck. We looked at each other and the same thought passed through our minds and without saying a word we raced to the pack house.
