Gentle Beast Chapter 30
âHey, where are you taking meâââ
JÇ XiÇo Åu beat against Rhodeâs shoulders and struggled in his arms.
She did not know him at all and they had never met, why did he come take her away without reason?
âBe honest!â Rhode slapped his hand rudely on JÇ XiÇo Åuâs ass, striding out of the house, declaring impatiently, âYou must have known our rules when you came to the tribe. The females here are all shared, including you. . . Donât be so fussy. Havenât you already done it with Ryan?â
JÇ XiÇo Åuâs face flushed a brilliant red for a moment then she helplessly panicked, âOf course not! . . . I am Ryanâs friend, not a female of your race!â
âFriends? That guy hasnât even had you yet?â Rhodeâs brow shot up, then his entire face shifted and he carried JÇ XiÇo Åu to the other side, âThen just let me be your first.â
JÇ XiÇo Åuâs eyes went wide and she slapped Rhodeâs shoulders, âDonât! You let me go!â
Unfortunately, her strength was far too weak and the leopards had thick skin. She was entirely insignificant.
The violent struggle only attracted the attention of others along the road.
Unfortunately, it was only their âattentionâ.
None were willing to come up and help her.
Not to mention that this was commonplace for the leopards, but they were also an indifferent and independent, withdrawn race. âMeddling in otherâs businessâââthose four words did not belong to them.
The reason it was attracting attention was because it was a little unusual.
As soon as Ryan had brought her in, the young female had been stamped with âLeader Ryanâsâ seal.
Most leopards were too terrified to openly rob the man. With the only exception being Rhode, the fore-bringer of his own death type of lunatic.
JÇ XiÇo Åuâs heart gradually began to sink, deep into a surge of desperation.
Not far ahead was a sloop-roofed house, and according to the path Rhode was walking, it was likely his house.
Seeing herself draw closer to Rhodeâs house. . . she would never have a chance to escape once she was inside.
JÇ XiÇo Åu clenched her teeth and looked at him. Regardless of the beastmen along the street, she took the army knife out of her space and swept out the blade. She lifted it high and stabbed down with all her strength at Rhodeâs shoulderââ
âAh. . .â
The sharp blade pierced flesh and Rhade gasped on cold air.
He turned and saw the knife sunk halfway into his flesh, blood gushing from the wound.
JÇ XiÇo Åu did not stop and instead clenched harder and forced it even deeper!
âDamn it. . .â Rhode took hold of JÇ XiÇo Åuâs hand and cursed, âYou suicidal woman!â
He pulled out the knife and flung it far away, looking at JÇ XiÇo Åu with angry flames flashing in his eyes.
JÇ XiÇo Åu shoved with all her bodyâs force and it wrenched at her abdominal wound but she persisted, âPut me. . . down.â
Rhode had thought she was a temping sheep and hadnât expected to be bit back. He licked his teeth and sneered, âDream on!â
He kicked open the door of his house and walked into the house, tossing JÇ XiÇo Åu mercilessly onto the bed.
*
Rhode did this with far more intent than to just anger Ryan.
Ryan had been besieged by the wolves and seriously injured. Everyone thought he would die, but not only did Ryan come back intact, but even stronger than before.
During the entire period of his injury, only this one female was in contact with him.
ââTherefore, it all had to do with this girl.
Rhode firmly believed that JÇ XiÇo Åuâs body hid some secret.
He leaned over and his long claws pinched her chin as he looked over her entire body.
Her face was small, shoulder thin, and her breasts werenât full. Other than her slender waist and thin legs, she had no advantage. She had no hair, naked as a boiled egg. . . she had yet to reach maturity.
Rhode couldnât help but smack his lips in suspicion, âRyan can actually see you?â
JÇ XiÇo Åu was powerless to argue with him, so she pit her lower lip until it bled white.
When Rhode threw her onto the bed, her waist slammed into the edge of the bed and the wound that had just begun to heal had torn open. Her face was pale with pain.
Rhode saw her trembling, and thought that she was trembling with fear, licked his teeth in delight.
âSo now you can be scared? Girl, where did that courage go?â
â. . .â JÇ XiÇo Åuâs voice was too quiet.
âWhat did you say? Speak louder,â Rhode raised his eyebrows.
JÇ XiÇo Åu repeated herself but he still could not hear it clearly.
Rhode impatiently bowed his head, âIf you want to beg for mercy. . .â
A tear rolled down JÇ XiÇo Åuâs face. Her voice was weak and she was almost paralyzed, âPain. . . donât press me down. . .â
Ryan kicked open the door then. Standing in the doorway, this was the scene he saw.
The stout male pressed over the pretty little girl, her face pressed to the bed and her body held tight until there was almost no gab at all.
The girlâs eyes were flushed and tears hung on her lashes, making her look pitiful.
âBangââ!â
The wooden door fell heavily to the ground making a heavy, muffled sound.
Rhode followed the sound with his gaze and saw Ryanâs icy visage, slightly stiff.
He expected Ryan to come but not quite that fast.
Rhode soon recovered his exposure and snarled, âSorry, Ryan. I already ate her. . .â
As soon as his voice fell, he was grabbed by the neck and thrust over to the window.
Ryan lifted him from the bed and lifted him high, then smashed him fiercely to the groundââ
The floor made a loud noise and the whole house shook.
Rhode groaned and was just starting to sit up when Ryan planted a foot on his face and shoved him back under the bed.
âRhode, do you want to die?â
This was the first thing Ryan said since entering the room.
Rhode spat out a mouthful of dirt and sat on the ground, âRyan, donât forget that the females of this tribe are shared. The patriarch is no exception. How can you alone enjoy this femaleâs ability? Why not let me have a piece of it?â
Ryanâs expression did not change and he leaned over, his firm arms lifting JÇ XiÇo Åu from the bed.
When he saw blood pouring down from JÇ XiÇo Åuâs abdomen, his eyes went dark.
âIf I told the tribe this girl had an unusual ability, guess what they would. . .â
âShut your mouth.â Ryan lifted his right foot and stepped heavily on Rhode shoulder hard.
For a moment, Rhodeâs face twitched and a sharp pain came from the scapulaââ
Then came the crack of broken bone.
Ryan: âYou let me hear your nonsense again and I will tear you to pieces.â
*
Back at his cabin, Ryan gently set JÇ XiÇo Åu down on his bed.
The girlâs belly was bleeding badly and her whole face was white, cold sweat almost soaking her entire body.
Ryan hooked his claws in her clothes and opened them up. The originally stitched shut wound had opened up and blood leaked continuously.
From start to end, JÇ XiÇo Åu, apart from the tears in front of Rhode, had not cried.
Ryanâs finger pressed around the wound.
Finally, he set aside her clothes and walked out of the cabin.
Soon, Ryan returned with the doctor Bethan.
Bethan saw JÇ XiÇo Åuâs wounds and the dark circles around his eyes were even darker when he told her, âYou. . . didnât I tell you to take care of yourself?!â
JÇ XiÇo Åu lowered her eyes and her lashes drooped against her cheeks. When she heard Bethanâs words, her shoulders curled up.
Ryan whispered: âDonât blame her.â
Bethan listened and he turned to ask, âSo itâs you thatâs not taking good care of her?â
Ryan was silent, and he did not answer. âCan you fix it?â
âIâll try,â Bethan said not lightly, âHer body was already not healing too well. This time, I cannot give much assurance.â
âBe sure to cure it,â Ryanâs voice was heavy with unquestionable command, âCure her and your race will be provided food for three winters by the leopards.â
Bethanâs eyes brightened, âDeal.â
Although the bleeding of JÇ XiÇo Åuâs wounds was serious, Bethanâs originally sutures were very good and it had not caused more damage.
Bethan first stopped her bleeding then slathered on anti-inflammatory medicine and told Ryan:
âIf she has a fever overnight, wipe her body down with a damp cloth. Avoid touching the wound until her temperature drops back to normal.â
After Bethan left, the room returned to silence.
JÇ XiÇo Åuâs motionless body laid on the bed, her hands and feet obediently placed to the side.
She was frightened by what Bethan had just said. If her wound was to crack open again, her belly would have a hole forever.
Even when Ryan came to check her forehead, she did not moveââ
Fortunately, she had no fever.
Ryan retracted his hand and asked abruptly, âDid Rhode touch you?â
JÇ XiÇo Åu glimpsed at him slightly and shook her head, âNo.â
âSorry,â Ryanâs voice was quiet and he spoke slowly, âIt wonât happen again.â
JÇ XiÇo Åu licked her lips but didnât say anything.
When Ryan got up and was about to go outside, she whispered, â. . .Ryan.â
He paused and she cautiously, carefully asked, âYou. . . your females. . . are all shared?â n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ryan pondered for a moment, then said slowly, âNo.â
He added: âYou are not.â
