Gentle Beast Chapter 38
Courtship. . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
JÇ XiÇo Åu had never thought that word would ever apply to her, so she said helplessly, âBut Iâm human. . .â
âReproductive isolation isnât a problem,â Ryan interrupted her, âAfter years of evolution, the races have very little obstacles between them. You donât have to worry about that.â
Alongside humans, the races of the Bornia continent also paid great attention to lineage.
Just one thing, Ryan did not tell JÇ XiÇo Åu truthfully.
Although the interrelations between races could produce offspring, the offspring had great uncertainty.
Could be gifted, or mentally handicapped, or mediocre.
Either way, they were never accepted by the races.
âNo, I donât mean that,â JÇ XiÇo Åu wanted to weep but had no tears. Who wanted to discuss reproduction with him!
Even without the segregation, she did not want to have a baby with a leopard, ah. . . n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
She hadnât even grown up yet!
âI canât be yours, Iâm going to leave sooner or later,â JÇ XiÇo Åu forced herself to calm down and sort out her thoughts, trying to have a good conversation with Ryan.
She did not know why Ryan would say that, nor did she know why he was suddenly âcourtingâ her. But she knew she could not accept it. Not when one was a leopard and one human. She wanted to go home and would leave sooner or later.
Ryan was silent, then said, âIf you still want to leave after finding Pat, I wonât stop you.â
JÇ XiÇo Åu was slightly surprised. Was he telling the truth?
But, after she thought about it, if he helped her find the turtle called Pat, could she still feel comfortable leaving?
What kind of woman was she to use him and then toss him aside?
But, even without leaving, she could not convince herself to stay. After all, her parents werenât there and she was unfamiliar with everything.
JÇ XiÇo Åu, after thinking, finally made her decision and grabbed her backpack, walking around Ryan to step outside the house, âIâm going to go find him.â
She just walked out the door when she came to a stop.
A white-striped female leopard stood outside the courtyard. She saw her come out and looked up. The leopardâs eyes were beautiful and her skin was white. Her face and neck were marked with obvious scars. JÇ XiÇo Åu did not know how long she had waited there. The leopard gave a shy smile and asked in the leopard language, âMy name is Olympus, is Ryan Chief in?â
JÇ XiÇo Åu did not understand, she only learned simple words, and blinked, âWhat did you say?â
The leopard female named âOlympusâ was also startled and did not understand JÇ XiÇo Åuâs words.
Olympus was one of the females rescued by Ryan from the saber-toothed tiger tribe.
Due to the brutal treatment of the tigers all year round, her temperament was somewhat timid and very different from the usual leopard females.
If it were Suzanna, she would have broken into the house early in the morning and not wait obediently outside the door.
Unfortunately, JÇ XiÇo Åu was not in the mood to talk to her and hurriedly walked out when Ryan did not come outside.
Then, Ryan also walked out, his tall figure blocking the entire doorway and the pressure around him low.
As soon as she same Ryan, Olympus bent her mouth in a smile and stepped forward, âChief Ryan, Iâm Olympus. Thanks for saving me from the tigers. . . I. . .â
Ryan strode past her and she did not know if he listened to her, âItâs not to my credit. Itâs the others that rescued you, you donât have to thank me.â
Having said that, he walked out of the courtyard.
In a moment, he came back holding the girlâs small buttocks on his arm and her upper body tossed over his shoulder. The action seemed rude but it protected her body well.
When he passed by, Olympus heard him say something to JÇ XiÇo Åu but unfortunately, because they were using human language, so Olympus did not understand it.
âIf you have any dissatisfaction with me, you can just mention it. Donât always think about running away. Even if chasing you doesnât take much effort, your body is not all that good and even small stints will cause problems.â
JÇ XiÇo Åuâs small face was red, though she didnât know if it was from shame or anger, and she suppressed, âRyan, I saved you!â
Ryanâs voice was deliberate, âI will never forget.â
Then why. . . was he still doing this?!
JÇ XiÇo Åu shouldnât be so mad. If she had known Táo Táo would become like this, she. . . she wouldnât have tried saving him and wouldnât give him milk to drink or jerky to eat!
But no matter how annoyed she was, JÇ XiÇo Åu could not resist Ryanâs strength and let him carry her into the house.
âRyan Chief. . .â a voice interrupted from behind Ryan and JÇ XiÇo Åu.
Ryan looked sideways to find Olympus hadnât left yet and stood opposite them. He had no recollection of this female and asked, âWas there anything else?â
Olympus quickly explained, âElder Scarlet said there werenât enough empty houses in the clan. Crissy and I donât have a place to life. The elders told me to ask you to let us stay here. Once there are new houses, we will move away. . .â
One had to say, Elder Scarlet was kind to Ryan.
The females in the tribe were scarce and they gave Ryan two.
Ryanâs house was not small. There was a bedroom to sleep and there was a warehouse. If it was tidied up, people could live there.
âThere was space,â Ryanâs voice was calm and without inflection, âBut now it has already been taken.â
Olympus looked at JÇ XiÇo Åuâs body and hesitated, unable to keep from asking, âThis female?â
Ryan was noncommittal.
He really wanted to clean up the warehouse, but not to let JÇ XiÇo Åu stay there.
It was best for his woman to live with him.
The warehouse was going to be converted into a kitchen in the future. This squeamish human couldnât eat raw food, and to take care of her appetite, he had to learn how to use a kitchen.
