Chapter 10 - The dinner

Laurens Pov:

| February 14th | Friday |

It's now next week,Friday and Sean will be here any minute.Which I'm really excited about but also scared because it means that Jade will soon come over for the dinner.

I then suddenly hear the front door open and I quickly run downstairs.

"Sean!"I said happily and hugged him tightly.

"Hey Laur."he replied and smiled widly when we pulled away.

"How are you?"he asked and I smiled,thinking of Jade.

We hung out literally every day after school and she makes me so happy.We haven't made it clear if we're girlfriends..but we're getting there.

"I'm great."I told him and he smiled.

"And how're you?"I asked him.

"Exhausted from the long drive but I'm good.How's Amy?"he said and I smirked.

"She's good."I told him and he smiled."And still single."I whispered and he blushed a bit which made me laugh.

"So..mom.When is this girl coming?"he asked and she was about to answer him when the bell rings.

"Now."she replied and walked over to the door and opened her.

I looked behind Sean and smiled when J saw Jade.

She's wearing exactly what she told me and her tattoos are perfectly showing.

"Hello."she greeted mom and glanced to me with a smile.

Mom eyed her tattoos and then gave her a small smile."Hello..please come in."she said and Jade walked in.

"And you must be Sean.I've heard a lot about you from your sister."Jade said and shook hands with him.

Mom looked at me with a smirk and gave me two thumbs up.I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile when Jade walked towards me.

"Hey you."she said with a wide smile.

"Hi."I replied and smiled too.

She then wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me into a hug.I wrapped my arms around her waist and placed my chin on her shoulder.

"Happy valentine's day,baby."Jade whispered which made me smile.

"Happy valentine's day,Jade."I responded quietly.

Mom then cleared her throat and I rolled my eyes."Shall we?"she asked,mentioning to the dinner table.Jade and I pulled away and we all sat down at the table.

Of course sat mom,Jade next to Sean but at least allowed me to sit on her other side.

Mom,Sean and Jade mostly talked and I just sat there listening to them.The only thing that stopped me from going upstairs was that Jades hand rested on my thigh the whole time.

"So..I didn't knew you have tattoos Jade."Mom started and Jade nodded.

"There are a lot things you don't know about me Ms.Mitchelle."she replied and I tried not to laugh.

"And what?"mom asked,trying to be not angry.

"For example that I don't want to be your sons girlfriend."Jade said and mom looked at her speechless.

"You told her?!"mom said angrily while turning to me.

I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out."It was my right to know."Jade said and mom turned back to her.

"Ms.Mitchelle with all my respect,don't you think your son is old enough to find his own girlfriend?"Jade asked her and she gave me the dead eyes.

"Lauren you're grounded."mom said and I scoffed.

"What?!"I asked angrily and Jade squeezed my thigh which makes me look to her.

She gave me a small smile and I couldn't help but return it.

"Please don't punish Lauren for that.It's not her fault that I don't like Sean."she said to mom and then turned to Sean.

"I hope we can be friends though."she added and he smiled.

"Of course."he replied and I smiled.

"Why don't you like him?He's perfect for you."mom said and Jade rolled her eyes.

"No.You think he's perfect for me but you don't even know me."she responded."So how can you think he's perfect for me?"she continued.

"You're pretty and smart.And so is he."mom said and Jade,Sean and I frowned.

"So your explanation is that we should be dating because we're both pretty and smart?"Jade asked and mom nodded.

"Well then I could be dating Lauren too.Because she's pretty and smart as well."Jade said which made Sean chuckle.

"No you can't.Boys and girls belong together and not girl and girl or boy and boy."mom replied and we rolled our eyes.

"Mom we don't live in the 80s anymore.People can love who they want."Sean said and I smiled.

"Not in my household."she replied and I scoffed.

"Well..it was nice to meet you Sean..but I'll go now."Jade said and then stood up.

"You're sure?"I asked her and she nodded.

"Yeah..sorry."she said with a sad smile.

"It's okay."I told her and she smiled.

"Can I do something crazy?"she whispered,so that only I could hear it and I nodded.

"Oh and Susan?"Jade called mom and she looked at her.

"Yes I can."Jade said and then cupped my cheeks while leaning down and kissed me deeply.

I hear mom gasp which made her smile into the kiss.Jade put her hands down on my chest and then pulled away.

"See ya."she said while making a peace sign and then walked out.

"What just happened?"Sean asked and mom stood up.

"Lauren you'll never see her again."mom said and I looked at her with an opened mouth.

"What?No!You can't do this.She's my friend!"I told her and she rolled her eyes.

"Friends don't kiss each other."mom said and I sighed.

"She only did that to provoke you."I responded and she scoffed.

"Just because she doesn't want to be with Sean!Why do you have to decide with who we can be friends or together?This is our life!"I said angrily and she looked at me like she wants to kill me.

"I just want the best for you!"mom shouted and I laughed.

"Since when do you care about me?It was and always will be about Sean!It feels like you only have one child!"I yelled back and Sean walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Calm down Laur."he said and I stepped away from him.

"You're on her side?"I asked him and he looked down.

"Fuck you.Both of you!"I said and walked towards the stairs.

"You know what?I know Jade for three weeks and have the feeling she knows and cares about me more than you two ever did."I continued and then rushed upstairs in my room.
