Chapter 15 - 18

Lauren's Pov:

| February 20th | Thursday |

Today is my 18th birthday and I'm so frickin nervous.It's also the first day when I see mom again.

"Baby wake up."I hear Jade whispered and I smiled.

I turned around and smiled at her."Happy birthday."she said and leaned down and kissed me softly.

"Thank you."I mumbled as she pulled away.

"I made breakfast."she said with a smirk and my smile grew.

I got up and smiled down at her."You're amazing."I told her and she crossed her arms.

"Do you think that just because I made you breakfast?"she asked and I laughed.

"Of course not."I replied and kissed the corner of her lips.

We then walked into the living room and I immediately smiled when I saw the breakfast.

"You made omelettes?"I asked with a pout and she smiled.

"Anything for my birthday girl."Jade replied and kissed my cheek.

After a few minutes we finished eating and we're now sitting on the couch.

"So..I got you a present."Jade started and I smiled.

"You didn't have to."I told her but she shook her head.

"I wanted to."she said with a smile.She then grabbed something out of her pocket.

She handed me a box and when I opened it I couldn't help but smile.

"You told me that you always wear rings and you love them so I decided to buy you a ring."Jade said which made me smile widly.

"I love it."I told her and she smiled widly.

"I'm glad you do."she replied and I smiled while putting it on.

It's now later that day and Jade and I are now standing in front of my house door.

"I'll be by your side the whole time.Maybe not as your girlfriend but I'm here,okay?"Jade said and I smile.

I gave her a soft kiss and then ringed the bell.After a few seconds the door opened and Sean smiled at us.

"Happy birthday Lauri."he said with a smile and I chuckled.

"Thanks."I replied with a smile and he pulled away.

"Good to see you again Jade."he said and hugged her too.

"You too man."she replied with a snicker.

"Come in guys.The guests will come in a few minutes."Sean said and we got inside and he closed the door behind us.

Mom then walked over to me and hugged me while congratulating me,

"What is she doing here?"mom asked while crossing her arms.

"She's my guest."I replied while walking back to Jade.

"Please don't complain about it.Not today."I said to mom and she sighed.

"Fine."she replied and I gave her a small smile.

"Doesn't mean I like her."mom added and I rolled my eyes.

"You literally hate her because she doesn't want to be with Sean.Before she rejected him you literally loved her.Even more than me."I said while crossing my arms.

"That is not true."mom said and I scoffed.

I was about to say something but the someone ringed.I walked to the door and opened the door.I was greeted by my grandparents and aunts and uncles.

I greeted them and they then stared talking together in the living room.

After some time,Moms friends Karen and Nicole came too and I tried my best to avoid them.

"So..how do you like your birthday so far?"Jade asked while sitting down next to me on the couch.

"It's okay, I guess."I replied with a shrug.

"Do you wanna go?"She asked but I shook my arm.

"No, not yet.And besides..Amy said she'll come and I don't want to leave her alone with my family."I responded and she smiled.

"Okay."she said and laid her head on my shoulder.

The bell then ringed again and Sean opened the door.He was greeted by Amy and she gave him a quick kiss.

She walked in and Sean closed the door behind her.I then hear mom gasp and she looked at them shocked.

I quickly stood up and rushed to her."Not today."I told her and sighed before walking away.

"Thanks Laur."Sean said and I nodded before sitting back down next to Jade.

Sean is sitting on the armchair and Amy is on his lap.

Then suddenly,Karen walked over to us and sat down on an armchair next to the couch.

"I don't think we've met before."she said while looking at Jade.

"Um..I'm Jade."Jade said with a small wave.

"Nice..to meet you."Karen said but stopped for a moment when she saw her tattoos.

"Likewise."Jade replied with a small smile.

"So..how do you know Lauren?"Karen asked and Jade looked at me with a smile.

"I'm her neighbour.I moved here a month ago."she replied and Karen nodded.

"And what are you doing for living?"she asked.

"Um..I'm going to work at a dance studio after the holidays."Jade answered with a smile.

Karen then excused herself and walked away.

"Hey um..do you want some cake too?"Jade asked and I nodded with a smile.

She gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before standing up and getting us some cake.I glanced over to mom and Karen and they looked disgusted at me and then at Jade.

Seriously?She can't even kiss my cheek without getting disgusted looks from them?

Jade came back but only with one cake and two forks.I gave her an confused look and she laughed.She sat down next to me and handed me a fork.

"Only one was left."she stated and I chuckled.

I then dipped my fork in the cream and she pouted."I wanted that."she said and I smiled at her adorableness.

"Here."I said and put the fork in front of her mouth.She opened her mouth and I feeded it to her.

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that she has cream at the corner of her lips.

"What?"she asked with a chuckle.

"You have there..wait."I said and put my right hand on her cheek and brushed my thumb over the corner of her lips.

"You had there something.."I mumbled while staring at her lips.

I jumped a little when suddenly the door bell ringed. I gave Jade a apologetic smile before standing up and walking to the door.

My eyes widened when I opened the door.

"Dad?!"
