Chapter 16 - Dad

Lauren's Pov:

"W..what are you doing here?"I stuttered.

"Well it's your birthday."dad replied with a small smile.

"You weren't here last year too."I said while crossing my arms.

"I know,I know.I'm sorry.I really wanted to come but I was really sick.But I sended you a card."he responded and I frowned.

"I never got a card."I told him and he looked at me shocked.

"Really?"he asked and I nodded.

"Must have got lost.."he mumbled and I hugged him.He was at first caught off but then hugged me back.

"I missed you."I told him.

"I missed you too."he replied which made me smile.

We then pulled away and smiled when he saw Sean."Hey Sean."dad said and Sean smiled.

"Hey dad."he replied and hugged him too.

"Heyy you grew a beard!"dad said and Sean laughed.

"What are you doing here?"mom suddenly asked and I stepped away from dad so she can see him.

"It's my daughters birthday."dad replied and mom scoffed.

"Guys not today.Please."I begged and they sighed.

"Lauren?Can you come with me outside?Your present is waiting for you."dad said and I gasped.

"Jade?"I called her and she walked over to me.

"Come with me."I said while grabbing her hand and dragging her outside.My eyes widened when I saw my present.

"A motorcycle?!"I said shocked and then looked Jade.

"You deserve it."she said and I smiled.

I then run to dad and hugged him tightly."Thank you so much dad!"I thanked him and he smiled.

"So..who's that girl?"dad asked as we pulled away and mentioned to Jade.

I then walked over to her and took her hand before walking with her back to dad.

"Dad..this is Jade,my girlfriend."I said and she looked at me with wide eyes.

"Y-You introduced me as your girlfriend."Jade said surprised and I smiled.

"I..It's a pleasure to meet you."Jade said shyly to dad and they shook hands.

"Pleasure to meet you too."dad replied and Jade wrapped her arm around mine and laid her head against my shoulder.

"Does your mom know about you two?"dad asked and I shook my head.

"N..no.You know how she feels about that."I replied sadly and he nodded.

"I know.But..I'm really happy you found someone."dad said which made me smile.

"Thanks dad.Mom never allowed me to be in a relationship and if she knows I'm in a relationship with a girl she's going to kill me."I responded with a sigh.

"And if she finds out that Jade is the one then she's going to kill her too."I added and Jade reached down to my hand and intertwined our fingers.

"I..I'm just afraid to loose her when I tell her.As much as she annoys me sometimes,she's still my mom and I love her."I said and Jade squeezed my hand.

"She's your mom,she loves you.Even if she doesn't show it often,she does.And soon or later she will accept you.I promise."Jade said and I kissed her head.

I then turned to her and cupped her cheek with my free hand.I leaned in and kissed her.I pulled away after a few seconds and she smiled at me.

"What the hell?!"
