Chapter 5 - Happy

Laurens Pov:

| January 27 | Monday |

I woke up at 7am and slowly stood up.I usually sleep in boy shorts and my sports bra.

I walked over to my window and opened the curtains.I immediately froze when I saw that Jade is in her room with only a towel on.

Jade then suddenly turned to me and jumped.She placed her hand on her heart and glared at me.

She then walked over to her window and opened it.She mentioned to me to do the same and I did.

"You scared the shit out of me!"she yelled and I laughed.

"Sorry."I yelled back and smiled at her sheepishly.

"When should I pick you up?"she asked.

"7.30am?"I suggested and she nodded.

School starts at 8am.

"Okay.See you then."she said and closed her window again.

I did the same and then got into the shower.After that I got ready and then walked downstairs.

My outfit

I walked over to the dinner table and sat down."Morning mom."I said and she gave me a small smile.

"Morning."she replied.

I grabbed my cereal and milk and started eating."You have to hurry if you want to get your bus."mom said and I stopped eating.

"Um..Jade is actually driving me.."I told her and she looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh really?"she said and I nodded before starting eating again.

"Well..I guess you should be friends with your brothers future girlfriend and maybe wife.So it's okay."she said and I sucked on my bottom lip.

As much as I love Sean and want him to be happy..I don't want that Jade is going to be his girlfriend.Or even wife.

I then continued eating and then got my shoes on and walked out.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw that Jade is already waiting for me in her car.

I quickly got in her car and buckled me up.

"Hey you."Jade greeted me with a smile.

"Hey."I said and couldn't help but smile either.

She then started driving and we just kept small talk while she was driving.

"So..we're here."Jade said as she stopped the car.

"I don't wanna go to school.I wanna hang out with you."I told her and pouted.

"Aww I want that too.But school's important."she said with a smile.

"But you're more important."I replied,still pouting and her smile grew.

"Are you flirting with me?"she asked and I shrugged.

"You know what..I'll drive you to school every morning and later back home.So we get to see each other at least 20 minutes per day."she suggested and I smiled.

"I would love that."I told her and she smiled.

"I uh..have to go now."I said and she nodded with a sad smile.

"See you later."I added and kissed her cheek before quickly getting out of the car.

I walked into school and in my first class.I sat down at my usual seat and a few minutes later,my best friend Amy came.

Because it's really early,we're the only ones in the classroom.

"Hey girl."she greeted me while sitting down next to me.

"Hey Amz."I said with a smile.

"So..you look really happy today."she said."Did something happened?"she asked with a grin.

"No..why would have something happened?"I asked her with a nervous smile.

"You just seem really happy today."she said with a shrug.

"I um..just realized that Sean is soon finished with college and is going to live with us until he found an apartment."I replied and she seemed to buy it.

"Oh.That's great."she said and I nodded.

Amy and I know each other since kindergarten.We know everything about each other.The only thing she doesn't know is that I'm gay.I just don't know how to tell her.

"Is your brother single?"Amy asked and I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Amy,do you have a crush on my brother?"I asked her and she blushed.

"Maybe.."she replied with a smile.

(Amy is 18)

"You know that I don't have anything against that,right?"I told her and she nodded.

"It's just..your mom wants your brother to have the perfect girlfriend.And I'm anything but perfect."she said sadly.

"The most important thing is that he's happy."I replied and she smiled a bit.

"And when he was here a few months ago it looked like he really likes you too."I told her and her smile grew.

"But um..we have one problem.."I started and she looked at me worried.

"Um..so..I have a new neighbour and mom thinks she's perfect for Sean.But she doesn't even know her."I continued and she bite her inner cheek.

"But she has tattoos,which mom didn't see because Jade was wearing a hoodie.And you know what my mom thinks of tattoos."I added and she nodded.

"Yeah.She didn't talked to you for a week when you got yours."she said and laughed.

"Don't remind me."I said and she chuckled.

"So..is this Jade pretty?"she asked and I sucked on my bottom lip.

"Lauren?"She called me and I looked up to her.

"Do I have to be honest?"I asked and she nodded.

"She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."I told her and I thought she would be sad but instead she smirked at me.

"What?"I asked her confused.

"Do you like her?"she asked and I immediately blushed.

"What?Pff..No."I said nervously and she crossed her arms and looked at me with disbelief.

"You know it's okay if you like her."she said softly and I smiled.

"So do you?"she asked and I slowly nodded.

"Aww."she squealed and I blushed."Does she like you too?"she asked.

"No..Probably not."I responded with a shrug.

"Well..maybe she does."she said and I scoffed.

"She's way out of my league."I replied and she smiled.

"Doesn't mean she won't like you back."
