Chapter 45 - Bat Cave Blood Shadow, Beware from Behind

The enchanting visage was within arm’s reach, exhaling fragrant whispers. Gu Liuyun discovered that Su Wanyan was extraordinary, the kind of person who could wreak havoc in ancient times. Just as he was preparing to strike back and stop this enchantress from being so arrogant, she suddenly stepped back to Su Xiaoyue’s side, asking earnestly, “How do we enter the Blood Bat Ancient Cave?”

Gu Liuyun’s eye twitched, and seeing both Su Xiaoyue and Blood Rose looking over, he had no choice but to respond, “Just jump in.”

“Jump in directly?!” Su Wanyan and Su Xiaoyue exclaimed simultaneously, and Blood Rose’s complexion changed slightly. The three of them had reservations about this bloody pool.

After all, being alone in the cold valley seemed more terrifying.

Once they both jumped in and felt solid ground beneath their feet, they opened their eyes to find complete darkness. They were on the verge of screaming when Gu Liuyun’s reassuring voice broke the silence: “I’m right next to you, don’t be afraid.”

With his comforting words, a fiery red light suddenly flared up, illuminating the surroundings. Su Wanyan and the others looked towards the source of the light and discovered it was the brilliant, translucent red sword Gu Liuyun had stood on earlier.

Su Xiaoyue gazed at the Crimson Heart Sword, her eyes sparkling, and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Xiaoyue, your sword is so beautiful. Is it a magical weapon?”

Gu Liuyun nodded and said, “The sect’s elders bestowed it. It’s currently a magical weapon.”

Su Xiaoyue, envious, said, “You’re so lucky. I wish the elders of the War Alliance were like that, too.”

Gu Liuyun smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry. You will not lack magical weapons or elixirs when the War Alliance holds its Sect Initiation Ceremony. Some might even compete to give them to you.”

Su Xiaoyue’s eyes lit up joyfully, and she asked, “Is that true?”

Gu Liuyun pinched her cheek and nodded, saying, “When most of the junior disciples in each sect reach the late stage of the first tier, the sect will organize an initiation ceremony. At that time, they will test the disciples’ aptitude, and those with exceptional talent will have elders willing to take them on as disciples.”

The cave grew increasingly dark as they continued forward. The light from the Crimson Heart Sword couldn’t reach very far, leaving only the constant rustling sound of the bats. Gu Liuyun gently shook his head, signaling no need to be nervous. He then walked over to a nearby rock wall and plucked a red herb growing in a crevice. “Congratulations, you’ve obtained a Blood Bat Grass,” the notification chimed.

He showed the herb to the three women and said, “This is called Blood Bat Grass, a special elixir found in the Blood Bat Ancient Cave. Each one is worth a hundred spirit stones. Make sure to collect them carefully and don’t miss any.”

The woman sighed in relief, with Su Xiaoyue even lightly patting her chest. She said, “I got so scared, and we’re just picking herbs.”

Gu Liuyun was about to tease them for being too scared, but suddenly, a bloody shadow emerged from the rock wall behind him. It rushed toward him with a powerful, bloody gust. Su Wanyan, witnessing this, paled and exclaimed, “Liuyun, watch your back!”
