The Edge
Borders Pack Book 1: My Three Mates
I shivered. Shocked by how tempted I was to goad him.
I was terrified of Victor. The idea that I was remotely interested in firing him up was a bit terrifying. ~Like I donât know myself at all.~
My gaze was so locked on Victor that I didnât notice Chase wandering behind me to sweep my cloak off my shoulders.
I yipped and twisted to look at him.
Hands descended on my arms and my head whipped forward.
Victor had closed the gap between us and had his hands just above where the loose sleeves of my dress draped over my shoulders. He slid them over the mounds of my shoulders and down my arms.
When I felt the dress start to fall, I jerked my forearms up to try to catch the sleeves at my elbow.
But Huntley caught them from behind me and held them to my sides so the dress slipped down. My chest and back were bared before gliding over my hips until only Huntleyâs grip on my wrists held it.
He let them go and the dress fell before I could catch it.
I glowered up at Victor.
He stroked his hands around my shoulders and over my shoulder blades. He swept my hair back to give him a clear view of the front of me.
âMmm,â he rumbled. âThe things weâre going to do to you.â
âEvery inch of you,â Huntley murmured near the side of my neck, before dipping his face to put a kiss there.
I clenched my thighs. An ache was already building as I felt their eyes touching me everywhere.
My face heated, and I looked away so I couldnât see Victorâs keen gaze tracing every curve of my body.
The moment I did, his hand shot out and caught my chin. He turned my face back so I looked at him.
âYou look at me when youâre naked. Especially when Iâm inside youâ¦â
Gulp. Breathing was hard.
I shivered, lifting my arms to cover myself.
âStop her,â Victor ordered.
Huntley caught my arms again. âNo, no, Valerie. Stay where you are.â
âMove slowly,â Chase warned.
âDonât tempt us,â Victor said tightly. âWeâre already on the edge.â
âAnd if I donât?â I asked quietly. Bold enough to ask, but I lacked the courage to say it fiercely.
There was something exciting about inciting his ire. About knowing I had power over his fury.
âYouâll do as I say, remember who we are, she-wolf,â Victor warned. âIt felt damn good to seed in you.â
I tightened my mouth and glared up at him.
Victor caught me and turned me around to carry me to the water. Sweeping up my legs, he cradled me against his bare chest.
Huntley reflexively let go, to stroll after his brother.
Near an enclosed area of the river there was a thick slab of stone, flattened by the wear of the water. That top was revealed now since the water level had fallen. They laid me out over it as if it were an altar. Their motives were clear.
âThis time I get to feel her up,â Huntley said, straddling my upper ribs as he freed himself. His blue eyes were watching me hungrily. He set himself down my sternum.
âWill you lick it for me, Valerie?â
My eyes were narrowed, but I lifted my head. I was secretly curious to see what would happen to him if I did.
I flattened my tongue over that tip and stroked upward.
He shuddered, throwing his head back in a moan. âYou donât know what you do to us.â
Huntley scooped my breasts and held them around himself, compressing the flesh against his length.
Victor moved next to me and pushed my hair back from my face.
Huntley licked his palm and rubbed it around him before sliding into that hole made by my tissue.
âLook at me,â Victor told me. He waited for me to turn my head to him. âLook at me while he rides you.â
He wanted to watch my face while Huntley mounted me. I knew Victor wanted a reaction.
I couldnât help that I gave him one. Tossing him a hateful look, I felt Huntley give me the first thrust. A sound that indicated the depth of his gratification escaped Huntley.
âDoes it feel good?â Victor asked.
I blinked at him, dropping my lashes to hide my eyes.
He jutted his chin. His jaw tightened. âAdmit it does, Val.â
The fact that Victor, who almost never said my real name, said it was remarkable. It sent me writhing and rubbing my thighs against each other and rotating my hips as I sought some kind of relief.
It was deeply intimate to have the wolf positioned as he was, stroking his flesh through mine. I imagined that in many ways, this is what it would be like when they took me under the Mating Moon.
~If I donât escape them before then. ~
I didnât want to admit it to Victor. Like saying the words out loud would be a type of surrender. I started to look away from him, but he lunged to catch my face, turning it back. His teeth extended and his eyes yellowed.
My disobedience had him on the brink of changing.
~I have the power to make him lose control. ~That sent a ripple of triumph through me.
All this time Iâd been at their mercy.
~Now theyâre just a little bit, at mineâ¦~ That was exhilarating.
âIt feels good!â I cried on a desperate pant.
âTell him you want it faster,â Victor ordered.
I swallowed. ~Howâd he know?~
Was I so obvious?
I closed my eyes, desperate to hide my vulnerability, to conceal my thoughts from him.
He slapped my cheek lightly. I gasped.
âFaster,â I panted, shocked by the intensity of the heat in my stinging cheek. The rush of blood flew there, and I felt my own eyes flecked with yellow.
âThere she is,â Chase said in wonder, from the other side.
~My she-wolf.~
âYouâre driving her out,â Chase encouraged.
âIf she comes out to play,â Victor warned. âWeâll deny her nothing.â
I knew what that meant. If I turned into my wolf, it would be an admonition of desire. Of a willingness to submit to them all.
They would breed with me.
