My mind was clouded with so many thoughts as I sat there, staring at Ruby.

I wanted her. I wasn’t going to deny it.

She was the kind of woman who, once she entered your system, there was no getting her out. She consumed you, wrapped herself around your thoughts, and left you helpless against her pull.

My heart pounded.

The way she looked at me, the way her voice wrapped around me like a temptation I couldn’t resist, I felt like I was drowning in her.

My hand moved up, tracing the length of her thigh. Her eyes fluttered shut, a slow, satisfied sigh escaping her lips.

Her voice dropped lower.

"I want you to slip your hand under my hospital gown."

She chuckled softly, her hand moving to wrap around my wrist, guiding me. "Then let me burn with you, baby."

And just like that, I was lost in her again.

I squeezed her thigh and she closed her eyes. "Fuck,  Ruby Fae I want to finger you" - I whispered

Just then, a knock on the door interrupted our moment. Before either of us could react, Darlene and Ashley barged in.

“Hi, guys! Whoa—why does this room smell like sex?” Darlene blurted out with a knowing smirk.

Ashley, standing beside her, wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Seriously? Even here? In a hospital? You two couldn’t keep your horny asses in check?” she scolded, crossing her arms.

Ruby, ever the calm one, simply shrugged. “We didn’t do anything,” she said, feigning innocence.

Ashley’s eyes darted to the damp spot on the hospital bed. “Oh yeah? Then what’s this? A spilled drink? Or—wait, did you seriously pee yourself, girl?” she teased, her voice dripping with mock disbelief.

I clamped my lips shut, struggling to hold back my laughter.

I leaned down, brushing my lips against Ruby’s ear. “I’ll step out for a bit, get some fresh air, babe,” I whispered, pressing a lingering kiss on her forehead. “I love you, baby girl.”

She smiled up at me, her eyes filled with warmth. “I love you more, cutie.”

With a grin, I turned and left the room, my heart lighter than before. If this is love, then please—love, don’t ever leave me.
