Declan
The next morning, Kiera and I woke up to see Trev curled in a ball on the floor. I kind of expected him to ditch us in the middle of the night, but he was still here.
"What now?" Kiera asked.
At the sound of her voice, Trev woke up and sat against the edge of the bed. His back was to us and he was wringing his hands when he spoke, "It's going to be hard to gather all of the Rebels, especially with everyone most likely looking for them now. I'm probably one of the most wanted, too. If I go out there, there's no guarantee I'll come back alive.
"I've been thinking and for this to work, Kiera, you are going to have to earn their trust. Declan can't go with you with him being the First Descendant's son and all, they would want to kill him. However, with having you go, you could share your story about not having a power and getting kicked out of the Sectors as well. Just don't say that you didn't know you were Neph. Pretend to have the same stories as them to get them to trust you. Tell them that you want to join them and that I am still alive.
"I told them where to meet incase this sort of situation happened when we attacked, so the survivors should be there. You can head out tonight when it's dark so no one will see you or be able to identify you."
Kiera and I spoke at the same time.
"Absolutely not," I said at the same time Kiera said, "I'll do it."
"No, it's far too dangerous. Trev, you got us in this situation, so you need to get us out of it," I countered.
"If you want this society to change, then that's what needs to happen," Trev said finally turning around to look at us.
"In that case, I'm going with her."
"And get killed?" Trev questioned me.
"I can handle myself," I said gruffly.
"Yeah and then you lose their trust completely once you attack back. Let Kiera go, I promise no harm to her. I'll stay here with you the entire time."
I knew he was right. I didn't want to let Kiera go to risk her life. The Neph must believe Kiera and I had died during the Rebels' ambush since we were not at The Dorms.

Later that night, I regretfully agreed to permit Kiera to go to the meeting place. Most of my clothes were white because I lived in the White Sector, but I was able to find a black hoodie and black sweats in my closest for Kiera to wear.
She put them on and looked as if she was drowning in them. Oh well, it would have to do.
Kiera tucked her hair underneath the hood and bounced lightly on her feet.
"I'm ready," she said.
I couldn't say anything before the reckless girl threw herself out of the window.

Kiera
Trev told me the place where I had to go to meet the Rebels, but I've never lived here before, so I had no idea where to go. He gave me vague descriptions of how to get there, so I blindly followed them.
I couldn't feel the cobblestones poking through the thick boots Declan had lent me. They were so comfy I didn't care that they were also a couple sizes too big.
I reached the dark building in about an hour. I was surprised that a building like this would exist in the Sectors. It looked like a structure that belonged in the Gray Sector.
The crumbling brick threatened the entire building to collapse. Shattered glass littered the ground all around from the broken windows. I guess it would make sense to meet up in this building if no one would come here. It was completely deserted all around in this area. There weren't even any streetlights to allow me to see much.
Carefully stepping over the shattered glass, I made my way to the caved in door. I knocked twice quickly, and three times slowly like Trev had told me to. It was their secret code or something.
I waited a few minutes thinking that the Rebels hadn't made it. I tapped my foot impatiently and thought about heading back to Declan's house.
The door groaned open and an arm clad in black reached through the crack and yanked me inside. The door quickly slammed shut behind me and I was engulfed in darkness.
A hand was over my mouth and a voice said, "You're not Trev."
I almost said, "Yeah, no shit." Then I thought that would be really bad.
The Neph holding me released my mouth and spun me around to face them.
I couldn't see much in the dark, but could see they were much taller than myself and probably male. Only his gold eyes glowed in the dark.
"I'm Kiera. I heard about the Rebels because I met Trev after the attack you guys staged," I left out the part of me actually being there because I was at the The Trials.
"Anyway, he told me about how you guys banded together on similar interests and stories. He told me his story and I told him mine. He said I should join up with you guys. And by the way, he's still alive," I continued to say.
Then I went on about my slightly made up story of how I didn't have a power and was also exiled to the Gray Sector.
The Nephilim remained silent the whole time and then said, "Come with me."
I followed him down a small hallway that he had to duck under. The ceiling was maybe six feet up, and he was clearly taller than that.
He turned down another hallway and opened a door to the immediate left. I followed him inside to see maybe thirty other Rebels seated on the floor in the barren room. They all looked up at us and gaped.
The guy who led me here held up a hand to silence their questions about who I was and where Trev is.
"Trev obliviously trusted this girl enough to tell her all about us and our meet up place with the secret code that only we know. That means we can trust him. If what she says is true, he's still alive," he went on to say.
"I want to help you guys. I don't agree with how the Known Families only keep those Nephilim with powers. To make the long story short, I also was kicked out due to the lack of a power. Let me show you my power," I said, raising my arm to make a blade of ice.
I stood there looking like an idiot when nothing happened. What the hell?
I concentrated hard on trying to remember how I did it, but I still couldn't do anything. Then, I tried to make a gust of wind blow through with the same lame results.
I thought about all the common factors that were there each time I was able to use multiple powers. Declan.
Well shit.
"Huh. Well this is awkward," I laughed nervously.

I couldn't take it anymore. Being stuck in my room with the ass, Trev, was hell.
It was also hell thinking about what was happening to Kiera right now. Who knew if she was even still alive or if the Rebels bought her story.
I desperately wanted to go after her even knowing that it would make the situation worse.
Trev looked at me like he knew what was going through my mind. He glared at me and said, "You don't want to do that."
"The Rebels must not harm her in anyway, or I swear to you that I will kill you. I will not hesitate," I firmly threatened.
He shrugged against the closet he was leaning against. His legs were crossed at the ankles and his arms were neatly folded across his chest. It looked to me as though he was trying to appear calm and unaffected by the situation.
I'm also still not completely ready to just throw out what I grew up with out the door. I grew up not exactly loving The Sectors per say, but I never had a reason to dislike it before. Things have changed and if I want something to happen, then I will have to change, too.
Abruptly, Trev turned away from me and hid is face in the crook of his elbow. His shoulders shook slowly and he collapsed on the ground.
Trev laid on his back and dragged his black hoodie up to his face to cover it. After a few shuddering breaths, he pulled the sweatshirt back down.
His eyes were red and puffy, making the violet stand out even more.
Trev was crying.
