Also, just want to tell you, that Wen Chi’s character is very timid. There is a reason for that. If you read chapter 3 it says “He naturally knew what Shi Ye was talking about, maybe others didn’t but he, who had read the novel three times, knew exactly what he was talking about. Not considering Shi Ye’s eccentric temperament, he has a strange fetish – that is he does not like to kill the timid and weak, especially a cry baby.” So that pretty much answers his timid nature. But also, in the original novel Shi Ye was described as evil and since he wasn’t the protagonist Shi Ye’s personality wasn’t described in detail. So obv Wen Chi doesn’t know that Shi Ye is a softy in the inside (soft only to Wen Chi). So Wen Chi is acting as a cry baby to save his neck. But with the progression of the novel there will be a character development in Wen Chi and also solve some mysteries to the character of Shi Ye.
