Part Thirty Two
(EDITING) Under A Lonely Moon
Nova's P.O.V
Three months have passed and I've been forced to call the search for Derek off. No matter what
Trail we followed or what scent we picked it they all came back empty. It was frustrating as hell!
Doc had been acting strange too. His sudden disappearances and refusal to tell anyone where he
Had been made me overly cautious. I didn't like it one bit and neither did my father and Nathan.
Zak groaned in his sleep and curled closer into my side. I smiled and wrapped an arm round him,
Bringing him closer to me. His tummy was huge. Bigger than when he was pregnant with Kasper.
Well I guess that would be the way beens he's carrying twins. I was so excited. I already had a
List of names lined up for them.
'What are you grinning at?' I hadn't even noticed Zak wake up.
I looked into his tired green eyes as he yawned sleepily. 'Just thinking about the babies.' I smiled
and kissed the tip of his nose.
'Hmm, I hope they aren't born on the same day as Kasper.' He said rubbing his belly. 'I can't
believe he's already one next week. Are we having a party?'
'Of course! I've already planned it all and everyone knows. Moms making his cake but she won't
Tell me what it is because she wants it to be a surprise.' I told him. I'm glad that my mother had
Finally came to her senses and apologised to Zak for how she behaved. They had patched up there
Relationship and now it seemed like it had never happened, which from my view point, was
Fantastic. Zak was now fully healthy. Him being pregnant had helped a lot in that department.
I heard him hiss and was about to ask him what was wrong, but he grabbed my hand and placed
It on his tummy. After a couple seconds I felt something hit my hand. I smiled and kissed my
Mates head. 'I can't wait to see them.' I sighed happily.
'Me too.' Zak shuffled a little before sitting himself up, which was quite an effort. 'Ouch,' he winced
As he shakily got to his feet.
'Are you alright?' I asked sitting on the edge of the bed. I held my hands out, ready to catch him if
He fell. He was so unsteady on his feet it worried me a little.
'H-help me to the b-bathroom please.' He huffed.
'Course,' I stood and picked him up carefully, cradling him to my chest. I walked into the bathroom
And sat him on Kasper's stool which he used to stand on so he could see himself brush his teeth.
'Want me to run you a bath?' I asked.
He shook his head, 'no, just come in the shower with me before Kas wakes up.' He shifted his
Position a little, rubbing his swollen stomach. He looked extremely uncomfortable.
'Are you sure your alright?' I asked as I turned the shower on, letting it warm up first.
'Yes, I'm fine, just a little uncomfortable.' He huffed.
I helped him remove my shirt which he wore to bed and his boxers before shedding my own
Clothes and climbing into the shower, holding my little mate close while we washed.
Once we were both washed I got out quickly and wrapped a towel round my waist before grabbing
Another two. I turned the shower off and wrapped one towel round Zak's shoulders and the other
Round his waist.
'Dada!' I heard Kasper cry. He'd woken and found himself alone so I'm guessing he was a little
Scared.
I pulled Zak into my arms and walked back to the bed and sat him down.
'Whats wrong baby?' I said softly picking my little boy up. His tiny fingers clutched my bare skin
And he snuggled his head under my chin.
'Daddy's gone.' He sniffled.
'Aww Kas, we didn't go. I had to help daddy shower.' I patted his small back and swayed from side
To side a little as he calmed down.
'Daddy ok?' He asked pointing to Zak.
He was sat on the edge of the bed rubbing his tummy, clearly in a lot of discomfort.
'Daddy's fine bud, just tired.' I smiled at him. He didn't understand that his daddy was pregnant so
It was easier to tell him that daddy was tired.
'Dada, hug,' he squirmed in my arms so I put him on his feet. He toddled off towards Zak.
My little boy clung to Zak's legs as he reached him, making his daddy smile. 'Up.' Kas said holding
His small arms up for Zak to pick him up.
Zak looked over to me for help. He couldn't pick Kas up in his state which upset him.
'Come here bud.' I picked him up and sat him next to Zak on the bed.
'Wove you daddy.' Kasper giggled as Zak pulled him into a hug.
'Love you too sweetie.' Zak kissed the tip of Kasper's nose. He tickled Kasper's plump little belly
Making him squeal in delight. I chuckled at the sight of my mate and son playing.
'No daddy!' Our son squealed through fits of laughter.
'Alright, alright, I think it's time for breakfast.' I laughed, deciding to separate them before one of
Them killed over from laughing too hard.
'Pancakes!' Kasper screamed as he ran for the edge of the bed. I caught him before he ran straight
Off the edge.
'He's definitely your son.' I laughed as Zak made an innocent face. 'You two and your pancakes.
Honestly you'll turn into one if your not careful.' I tapped my sons nose and he tried to bite my
finger playfully.
A couple knocks sounded before the door to our room was opened. 'Morning boys.' Father greeted
As he came into the room. 'Everything alright?' He asked looking from me to where Zak sat.
I nodded, 'dad can you take Kasper down with you. Me and Zak will be there in a minute.'
'Course, no problem.' He smiled. 'Come on buddy, let's get some food in your belly.'
'Grandpa! Pancakes!' Kas squealed as he ran to my father.
'Your too much like your daddy it's unreal.' He chuckled and held Kasper's hand as they walked out
The room.
I heard Zak groan. 'Maybe we should go see Micky?' I said. Zak had curled himself into a ball at the
Edge of the bed and had his arms wrapped around his belly. 'Here, let's put these on you.' I said
Helping him into a pair of loose fitting sweats and one of my shirts. I quickly got dressed myself
And picked Zak up.
'Nova is he alright?' Ricky ran to my side and fell into step as we walked through the house.
'He said he's feeling discomfort so I'm taking him to see Micky.' I told my mates friend.
'Maybe it's because he's so big?' Ricky suggested.
He had a point. Compared to Zak's tiny frame, his belly was huge. He wasn't built to carry twins
And it was putting strain on his small body.
'Whose got Kasper?' He asked.
'My dad. Kas is probably making his granddad make him pancakes as we speak.' I shook my head
And chuckled.
'There really is no mistaking him as Zak's son ay?' He chuckled too.
He parted to go find Axel, telling me he'd come see Zak later to see how he's doing. I nodded and
Continued to the hospital.
'Micky? You in here?' I called out. No answer. Maybe he went to grab some breakfast. I lay Zak on
The bed for a moment and went to look in the office. 'Shit!' I gasped as I saw the place a complete
Mess. Papers were scattered everywhere, the desk was broken as were the chairs and other
Equipment that was in there. It looked like a fight had took place.
My blood ran cold as I heard a scream. My mates scream. Not wasting a second I ran back towards
My mate only to stop dead in my tracks.
'Doc? What are you doing?'
Doc had my mate in his grasp, digging his claws into his arms. Zak stood on shaky legs, his face
Completely white in fright.
'Nova! I heard a scream!' Ricky came bursting through he door with Axel behind him. They both
Growled at the sight. 'What are you doing Doc?' He spat through gritted teeth.
'I suggest you back off.' He threatened. I watched as his claws moved from Zak's arm and rested on
his swollen belly.
My mate gasped and sobs raked through him. I growled low and threatening. How dare he hurt my
Mate. And how dare he use our unborn babies like this. I was livid. Anger made my limbs shake
So much that I found it difficult to hold myself back.
'Calm it Nova.' Axel whispered as he edged to my side. 'If you lose it now you'll regret it.'
As of I didn't know that already. Taking a couple deep breaths I held my hands up in the air. 'Im
Not going to do anything. You can let Zak go now.' I said through gritted teeth.
Doc chuckled. 'Nah, I think I'll hold him here for a bit.' Growls rippled through the air as those
words left his lips. 'Ah ah ah,' he tsked.
'What do you want Doc.' Axel growled. He may be small but you didn't want to piss him off. He was
A mean little son of a bitch when he was. Ricky had taught him how to fight so the kid could rip
Your throat open in a matter of seconds if you gave him the right opening.
'I want you to realise that it was all your fault!' He yelled. 'She died because of you and no one even
Cared about that. They just thanked the goddess that you were spared. They didn't give a second
Glance to the one who actually saved your life!'
In his rage Doc had released his hold on Zak. Keeping Docs attention on me and Axel, I watched
From the corner of my eye as Ricky sneaked round the back, slowly.
'I don't know what your talking about.' I told him.
'Tina!' He cried. 'Your the reason my beloved sister is dead.' He growled. In anger he spun round,
Swiping his clawed hand towards Zak.
'Ricky!' Zak cried as his friend covered my mates body with his just in time as Docs claws sank
into the skin on his back.
Axel and myself lunged forward and tackled Doc to the ground. I called for my father and Nathan
Through our mind link and told them to hurry. Axel had his claws in Docs neck so he wouldn't
move.
I looked over to where Ricky sat. He sat on the far side of the room, away from Docs reach. My
Little mate sat sobbing, curled in his lap. I saw Ricky talking to him, rubbing circles into his back
As he tried to calm him down.
'Nova!' My father yelled. 'What the hell is going on!' He roared.
I heard Zak whimper and glared at my father for scaring him.
'Take him to the cell and keep him there until I decide to deal with him.' Father growled. He was in
Full on alpha mode as he ordered the three guards that had come with him.
They did as he said without hesitation. They took a struggling Doc from the hospital and to the
Holding cells which were located in a separate building in the forest.
'Wheres Micky?' Nathan asked as father stormed out of the room.
'I don't know.' I replied as I walked over to my mate. He was scared beyond belief, which broke
My heart. I shouldn't have left him on his own. 'Zak, baby, come here.' I said softly.
I took him from Ricky, who pulled Axel into his lap and cradled his crying mate while I cradled
mine.
Zak clutched my shirt with one hand and his belly with the other. 'Sshh, baby. It's okay. I'm so
sorry. Sshh.' I wrapped my arms completely round him, sheltering him and letting him know he
Was safe now.
'Dada?' I heard my sons voice call out. He sounded upset.
I turned round and saw my son running as fast as his little legs would carry him towards us.
'Why daddy cry?' He asked and he cuddled Zak. 'Daddy no cry.' Our son hugged his daddy as tight
As he could, just like Zak does when he's upset.
Zak pulled Kas onto his lap and hugged the little boy who now also had tears in his eyes. 'Daddy's
Better now.' He smiled down at our son. Kasper smiled a toothy grin and giggled.
'Come on, let's get you out of here. Ricky's taken care of.' I added when I saw him about to protest.
Micky had made an appearance and ignored the mess, just getting straight to work on cleaning up
Ricky's back. He nodded at me before I left, silently telling me he'll drop by later.
Kasper clung to my trouser leg as he walked beside me. I walked slow so he could keep up.
Once we reached our room I lay Zak down on the bed and lay next to him, while Kas sat in front of
Zak and played with his hair. I rubbed his belly soothingly as he calmed himself.
'Nova, Zak. It's Micky.' Micky called as he knocked the door.
'Come in.' I called back.
'Uncle Micky!' Kasper giggled when he saw Micky come in. He stretched his arms up wanting a
hug.
'Hey kiddo. Boy haven't you gotten big.' Micky picked Kas up and blew a raspberry on my boys
Cheek, making him giggle.
'Im a big boy now.' He smiled.
'Hmm you sure are.' Micky handed Kasper back to me and settled down next to Zak, who had
Remained curled up next to me. 'Hey buddy. How you feeling? Ricky told me your not feeling so
Good?' His voice was soft. He knew exactly how to handle Zak now, which I was thankful for.
'It hurts when I move.' Zak whimpered. He was still shaken from what had just happened.
'It hurts or feels uncomfortable because of how big you've gotten. Your body's only small, so it's
Putting strain on your muscles and such. It's nothing to worry about alright?' He said stroking
Zak's hair, comforting and calming him. He patted Zak's hand comforting. 'Can I take a look at
those wounds on your arms?' He asked. Zak nodded and allowed Micky to patch him up.
'Luckily they aren't too deep so they don't need stitches. You know the drill, keep them clean and
If there's any problems come see me.' Micky smiled softly at Zak. 'How about we go have some tea?
I've got in a new strawberry and mango tea which I still haven't tried yet.' Micky and Zak have been
Having tea together quite often. It was only for an hour or so a couple times a week, but it gave
Them both some much needed relaxing time, which they filled with idle chit chat.
Zak smiled. 'Strawberry and mango?' He pouted as he thought. 'Why not.'
'Meet me in the living room in about half an hour. I'll just put my things away and tidy my office a
Bit and I'll come meet you, alright?'
Zak nodded. His mood had perked up a bit now and I was glad it had. 'See you in a bit.'
Kasper waved as Micky left. 'Daddy pway with me.'
'What do you want to play?' I smiled.
He pouted just like his daddy when he was thinking and it was just as cute as when Zak does it.
'Aeroplane!' He jumped on my stomach, knocking the air right out of me.
Zak's cute little giggle sounded as I gasped for air while Kas continued to bounce on my chest,
telling me to hurry.
'Come on daddy! Aeroplane!' Kas demanded.
'He's definitely been round you too much.' I laughed as Kasper mimicked Zak by putting his little
Hands on his hips.
'I have no idea what your talking about.' Zak laughed. 'He's too cute for his own good and he knows
How to use it too.'
We both laughed,'he does indeed.' I threw Kasper into the air and caught him again, doing it again
And again. My boy laughed the whole time. His squeals of delight made Zak laugh too.
'Come on, I think it's about time we met Micky for your tea date.' I chuckled.
Zak smiled and shuffled to the edge of the bed. I put Kasper on his feet and he was off like a shot,
Running towards the living room I assumed. He loved his uncle Micky.
I stood in front of Zak, who was trying to get to his feet. 'I'll carry you. You'll make yourself more
Uncomfortable forcing yourself to walk.' I pulled him into my arms and walked towards the sounds
Of my baby's giggles and squeals.
'Sorry.' Zak mumbled.
'For what?'
'Im probably really heavy and you have to carry me everywhere because I can't walk.' I heard the
Tears in his voice. He sniffed and wiped his eyes before they fell.
'Don't be silly. Super wolf strength remember.' I chuckled and so did he. 'Besides, I'd rather carry
You than seeing you struggle and in pain. Plus I love the extra me-you time.' I winked playfully as
He looked up at me.
His cheeks flushed and he hit my chest muttering something under his breath. I chuckled.
'Daddy, look!' Kas screamed as we entered the room. He was sitting on the floor with Nathan and
Ricky surrounded by the wooded building blocks. 'Nat helped me do it! It big as me!'
He still couldn't say Nathan and it made me laugh when he called him Nat, it was cute.
I sat Zak down on the sofa and sat myself on the floor by his legs so I could play with Kasper. Zak
Hated that he couldn't play with Kas as much at the moment but Kasper didn't seem to mind it
Too much, he would bring a colouring book or a film if he wanted to spend time with Zak. It was
Like he understood that his daddy couldn't play with him properly at the moment.
'Right then, who wants some tea?' Mother called in a sing song voice as her, father and Micky
Walked into the room carrying trays of tea, milk, sugar and cups.
Everyone asked for either normal tea or Micky's strange strawberry and mango one.
'Daddy can I have a bit too?' Kasper tugged on my shirt as he watched everyone else getting there's.
He felt left out and wanted to join in too.
'Sure bud, but only a little.' I smiled when he grinned and nodded happily.
I poured a little tea in a cup and filled it with milk so it would be warm and not strong. I kept hold
Of it and helped him sip some.
He licked his lips after a couple sips, 'it nice.' He smiled.
'Make sure he doesn't drink too much, I don't think it's good for him if he drinks a lot.' Zak said.
'Don't worry I filled it with milk so there's hardly any tea in it.' I smiled at him and he nodded.
'Hows it taste?' Micky asked looking at Zak. They'd both had the strawberry and mango tea, as did
Axel and my mother.
'Its actually strangely nice.' He said a little surprised.
Axel, Micky and mom all nodded in agreement. 'Can I have a taste?' I asked, curiosity getting the
Better of me.
'Sure.' Zak handed me his mug.
I sniffed it. The smell was wired. I brought the mug to my lips and sipped at the strange liquid.
'Its a weirdly nice taste right?' Zak laughed as I handed him back the mug.
'Yeah, sure we'll go with that.' I scrunched my nose up in distaste making them laugh. It tasted
Horrible.
And that was pretty much how the evening continued. Everyone sat round and chatted, laughed
And drank tea, until Ricky broke out his secret stash.
