Chapter 14

Tyler's POV 💭

Everything was at a stand still for a second . Dontae was still on the ground , I still had a shocked look on my face and Big had an expression that said he was about to lose his mind .

Big stood up from his chair and grabbed Dontae by his shirt , holding him firmly against the wall and screaming at him . Eventually he threw Dontae on the ground next to my feet and demanded through gritted teeth for me to get him out of there . I picked him up and pushed him outside and to the sidewalk . I stood there and looked at him laying there with an angry expression on his face . I shook my head and walked away leaving him there , ignoring that fact he started to yell after me . Instead of going home I decided to go to Jessica's house .

By the time I got there it was 2am . I couldn't go to the front door so I had no choice but to climb the tree outside of her window . I sat on a branch and called her phone , watching it light up and ring and her start to squirm around . She didn't answer the first time but she answered the second time .

"Tyler do you know what time it is babe ?" She asked as I could see her rubbing her eyes .

"Yes it's 2:08am ." I said laughing."You're really cute at this time of the night sweetheart."

"Huh?" She asked confused . Then she turned towards her window and laughed at the sight of me sitting on the branch smiling at her . She hung up and opened her window .

"You're crazy ..." She said shaking her head at me .

"For you? A little ." I said as I motioned her to step back so I could climb in .

"Oh really? A little?" She asked raising her eyebrow . I closed her window then walked up to her so we were face to face . Well more like forehead to chin because she had to look up at me but you get the point.

"Yea just a little," I said smirking and wrapping my arms around her waist. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me even closer .

"Kiss me ." She demanded . I slightly leaned down and kissed her softly, she grabbed the back of my neck with one hand and placed the other on my stomach . She slowly pushed me backwards until I fall onto her bed . She straddled me and stared down at me .

"What's wrong?" I asked eyeing her curiously .

"Nothing just .... I'm still tired ." She said rubbing her eyes again

I sat up on my arms. "If you want I can go and let you go back to sleep."

"No ! I want you to stay....."She said not looking me in my eyes and drawing circles on my stomach.

"Ok I'll stay." I said laughing at how cute she was being .

"But ...." She started

"But...? But what?" I asked curiously

"You have to take your shirt off." She said smirking . I smiled and pulled off my shirt . We both crawled under the sheets and got comfortable. Jessica turned to face me and placed her hand on my face , running her thumb across my cheek.

"What?" I asked .

"Nothing I just ...,"she started," I like you a lot ."

I smiled. "I like you a lot too."

Instead of replying she scooted closer and laid her head on my chest, wrapping her arms around me. I pulled her closer and stroked her back with my fingers until she fell asleep . I kissed the top of her head and eventually drifted to sleep .

*Morning*

Jessica's POV 💭

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off and immediately rolled out of bed. Literally . I picked myself up off the ground and dragged myself to the bathroom . I took a hot shower , brushed my teeth and headed to my closet to search for an outfit . I searched through what felt like hundreds of clothing options until I decided to go with blue acid wash jeans , black toms and a white NY to LA shirt . I decided to skip out on breakfast and headed straight to school .

As I pulled into the schools parking lot Tyler thought it was cute to speed in front of me . I almost hit her ! But luckily I didn't . I pulled into the parking spot across from her . She leaned against her bike , helmet under her arm laughing at the expression I gave her as I got out of my car .

"You think this is funny? I almost hit you!" I exclaimed .

"It's hilarious and you didn't." She said smirking at me . Tyler pulled my close with her free hand and smiled down at me .

"Tyler Jackson are you going to kiss me in the parking lot?" I asked fake shocked .

"I am." She said as she leaned in and kissed me softly . I felt the butterflies everywhere in my stomach. I usually try to ignore the feeling but I couldn't . It was different and I liked it . A lot . Unfortunately just as things were getting a little hot we were interrupting by someone clearing their voice behind us .

"PDA much?" My Bestfriend Shelly said .

"Hey bestfrieeeeeeend!" Tyler exclaimed to her playfully .

Shelly rolled her eyes. "Yea yea hello Tyler." Just the we heard the bell ring from inside the school . Shelly grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the school . I turned back and waved at Tyler who shook her head and smiled .

It was about 3 minutes until my first class started and I procrastinated at my locker in no rush at all . I stood in front of Shelly and our friend Michelle who leaned against the set of lockers .

"Very interesting ." A familiar voice said slowly behind me . I quivered at the voice and immediately shut my eyes , scared that it might be who I thought it was .

I took a deep breathe and turned around to see the devil herself . Demi .

"Go away...." I said hesitantly in a low voice.

"Where am I gonna go ? I go to school here ." She smirked as she touched my arms . Suddenly Shelly slapped her away .

"Don't touch her !" Shelly yelled causing people to turn there heads and pay attention . Demi pushed Shelly and Michelle away and slammed me into the locker .

"I'm not done with you ...." She whispered to me .

I started to silently cry when suddenly Tyler's hand met Demi's chest and Tyler pushed her back . Just then all of Tyler's friends walked up.

"You can't catch a clue can you?" Tyler asked through gritted teeth.

"Fuck your stupid ass clues ! She's not done with me until I say she is!" Demi shot back . Tyler grabbed Demi by her jacket and slammed her into the lockers on the other side of the hall.

"Mess with my girl again I guarantee that's the last sunrise you will ever see." Tyler said . I could see her grip was getting tighter . Demi grinned and laughed at her .

"Don't waste your breath Jackson... This is just the beginning ." And with that Demi struck Tyler . Tyler stumbled backwards then caught her balance . The fight went on and eventually the school security guards came and pulled them apart .

"Watch your back!" Demi shouted to Tyler as she was hand cuffed on the ground . Tyler flicked her off before the security grabbed her arm and handcuffed her . They were both escorted towards the principals office and eventually the big crowd was gone. I ignored mine and Tyler's friends asking me if I was ok and ran towards the office .

Tyler's POV 💭

"You're expelled." The principal,Dr.Lloyd,said to Demi ."You are to immediately leave this campus . You will be transferred to an Alternative School outside the county and you are not allowed within 300 feet of Ms.Jackson and the other students involved . If you break these rules and restrictions you will be arrested. Am I clear ?" She said raising an eyebrow .

"Yes ma'am." She mumbled . The security guard grabbed her and left.

"And as for you,"the principal said turning to me,"you ... Despite the rumors have a clean record minus many tardies."

I smirked."I'm not that bad Dr.Lloyd, just mistaken by an image."

"I see,"she smiled at me,"which is why I'm recommending you to an anger management counseling session until further notice."

"I can take that." I said nodding .

"You're lucky it saw this little incident on the cameras or else I'd have to expel you too." She said as she motioned for the security guard to uncuff me .

"I'm lucky .." I said rubbing my wrist. I got up and headed towards the door before she stopped me in the doorway by calling my name .

I turned around and eyed her curiously, confused as to what she was about to say.

"Have you heard from your mom Tyler?" She asked . I had almost forgotten she was my mothers childhood Bestfriend . She tried to help my mom out of her addiction but we all see how that went .

"No..." I said looking at the ground and walking out . I walked into the hall when suddenly a pair of soft arms wrapped tightly around me .

"Expelled?" Jessica asked.

"Counseling." I said smiling at her .

The rest of my day went by pretty smooth and right after school I headed home .

I put my bike in the garage and walked inside . I headed straight for the fridge and grabbed a juice box . I turned around to see 3 people sitting at the dining table . One was my brother who had tears in his , the other was my father with his usual unreadable face and I couldn't make out the third but I knew it was a woman .

Her jet black hair covered the sides of face . Her clothes were dirty and so was her visible skin.

"Who's that?" I asked .

My dad took a deep sigh .

The woman picked her head up and my jaw immediately dropped .

"Mom....." She answered slowly .
