The Imperial Witch ⚜ Ch. 2

Royal Academy Diaries II

Faraja was grateful that her roommates were such good friends. She sat in the common area with them, passing around a bag of pretzel snacks.

"Why do you keep passing these up Medea, they're so good," Samira asked.

The shy girl shrugged. "It's not a crime to not be hungry."

Samira ate another mouthful. "You're not a vampire, are you? That's why you're not eating?"

Medea just rolled her eyes and helped pass the bag to Faraja.

Next to them, Valentina was tuning her violin. "I'm hoping this might get me some extra credit in Charms, thanks for asking."

Faraja raised a brow, stroking Duma on the arm of the chair. "In Charms? How exactly?"

The girl smirked as she put the bow to the strings. "Like this." A haunting melody drifted around them, filling the space with a drifting blue light. As it passed objects, they began to hover an inch or two off of tables and such.

Faraja grabbed the bag as it started to drift out of her hands. "That's swell and all, but how is this going to give you extra credit?"

"Not everyone can do that spell," she shrugged.

"Fair enough," Samira said, holding out a hand for the snack bag again.

"It sounds so sad, Val," Medea sighed. "Sad and lonely." Duma came over and she stroked the patterned fur with equal melancholy.

"Well who are you lonely for?" Samira asked, making the bag float over to her when Faraja didn't notice.

Medea blushed. "Well, there's this boy-"

"I knew it!" Valentina burst out, sitting down into one of the oversized chairs.

"You can't read minds." Samira threw a little piece of pretzel at her.

"Who is it?" Faraja asked.

"His name is Rama," the girl answered quietly.

"You mean Jasim of Bahrian's friend? He's dreamy too," Valentina grinned.

Samira chuckled "I'm afraid I can't share you pain or excitement on this one girls. I'm betrothed. He's amazing."

Faraja grinned and threw a chip at her. "Well the rest of us are lonely okay?"

Valentina raised a brow, grinning. "Raja...? Who is it?"

Embarrassed to finally admit it aloud, she sighed. "Fine. It's Salma of Hejaz."

Samira nodded. "Even I'll admit she's cute, but isn't she out of your league?" She ducked as three bits of snacks were thrown at her.

"Well, she's a princess, I'm a princess... I wouldn't say so," Faraja answered, knowing full well that she, socially at least, in another world from her.

Valentina twirled a piece of hair around her finger. "Her friend's cute too. Bain."

Samira rolled her eyes at the girl's antics.

"Come on, let's go talk to them. They're right over there other side of common area," Valentina suggested.

Medea looked a bit pale. "No way!"

"Okay fine, be lonely cowards." She took the snack bag and reclined a bit. After a while she said, "You know who would be cute together? Headmasters Louis and Irene."

Faraja grinned. "You know what the knight school says? Enzo and Irene."

"You know what she says?" Samira said.

They all fell silent. Then a smirk grew on their lips as an idea grew.

Valentina jumped up first. "I'll get the enchanted string and cans."

Medea followed right after. "I'll get the dream powder and charms."

"I'll get the camoflauge blanket," Samira volunteered.

Faraja looked around for something to grab that might help on their risky adventure. "I will..."

Duma meowed.

"Feed the cat before we go."
