Mid Term

Royal Academy Diaries II

The four headmasters sat together in the tower conservatory at the Royal Academy castle, a light rain pouring over the domed glass ceiling above them.

"It's hard to believe the term is half over," Irene commented, sipping her tea.

"It certainly has been a strange year so far," Serafina mused.

Enzo smirked and put another sugar cube in his cup. "Making deals with students, a runaway... I don't remember things being this complicated last year."

"Mm. There weren't rumours of werewolves and vampires last year," Louis noted. Irene gave him a look and he shrugged. "What? 'Normal' at the Magic Academy is a whole new world. The trouble these kids can get into is entirely different."

"Yes, but vampires?" Serafina shuddered. "Surely they would have been apprehended by now. Someone would have been hurt. Are you sure your professors are keeping proper watch of their students' well being?"

Louis nodded. "I can mention it at the next meeting. Watch for teeth marks, anyone wearing scarves all of a sudden, the smell of garlic."

Irene rolled her eyes. "Do stop teasing, Louis." She took another sip of tea and sighed. "I just hope the last part of the year will be uneventful."

"Cheers to that." Enzo raised his cup, and she smiled as they clinked them together.

She could only hope.
