The Imperial Witch ⚜ Ch. 7
Royal Academy Diaries II
As the ball got closer, the frenzy of people asking out dates began. Faraja however, was more focused on making the dance perfect.
As she tried to decide between two chair covers, Valentina sat in her desk.
"You've been uncharacteristically quiet back there Val. What's going on?" she finally asked.
Valentina sighed, twirling her wand between her fingers. "Oh, I guess I'm just lonely for affection and male company. No offense."
Faraja chuckled. "None taken. I understand. Someone will ask you to the ball, I'm sure. There's still time."
"Ugh, but Sir Henry might ask me, and I would rather sit in history for the entirety of the ball than go with him."
She glanced back to the covers and held one up. "Hey, could you permafrost these berries for me?"
"Sure," the wizardress sighed, casting the spell.
"Perfect! Thanks."
"Anytime. Oh look it's Duma- woah, what happened?"
"Hm?" Faraja said distractedly.
Valentina raised a brow. "Uh, last I checked, cat's aren't blue."
Glancing at her poor cat, she cringed. "Oh yes. I was trying to do a stained glass spell for the ball and she jumped in the way... It'll fade as her fur grows out." Looking back to her friend she shook her head. "Aw come on, don't be sad. You can still go to the ball if you don't have a date."
The girl cringed. "But that would be so embarrassing!"
"Oh, plenty of people do it. It's not like you can use a love potion on someone, Val. It's okay to-" Her friend's look suddenly changed. "Now wait a second."
She smirked.
"No, don't you dare think about it. Val..."
"What a genius idea, Raja. I'll find Bain and slip him a love potion before the ball!"
"Oh no... What if he already has a date?"
"So what if he does? He'll go right back to her afterwards," she dismissed with a wave of her hand.
Faraja put her hand over her face as her friend got up. "I claim no responsibility in this."
