The Strongest Princess ⚜ Ch. 6
Royal Academy Diaries II
Devna laughed, going down the hall with 'Elle'. "You must see some very strange things in this job."
She chuckled. "Oh the things I could tell you. One of my favourites is hiding portraits of royalty in the wardrobes. It's fun to see who is carrying a torch for who."
Devna chuckled. "I'm sure."
Sean passed by them and waved to her. "Hey, you coming to the next relay practice?" he asked.
"I will, yes," she nodded.
"Good," the knight smiled. "You're on my team next time."
"Oh, you did the relay?" Elle said. "Impressive. I could never do it."
Glancing back, Devna grinned. "Since I stood up to Neil and Maks that one time, I have three or four knights that all but follow me around for protection now."
"Really?" Elle laughed. "How adorable. You're quite the crusader. Have these two bullied you?"
She shrugged. "It doesn't bother me as much." After a moment she added, "But being alone does, I have to admit."
The young woman gave her a sympathetic look. "I understand just what you mean. Oh!" Having rounded a corner, she suddenly found herself up close and personal with a rather tall man.
"Excuse us, terribly sorry," he said. Beside him were a young man and woman that looked very much like him.
"It was my fault," Elle insisted, curtseying.
The man smiled at her and the trio bowed to Devna. "I wonder if you might help us?"
Elle nodded. "Of course, sir. What do you need?"
"We're trying to find Headmaster Negro's office to finish the arrangements for this one being knighted in a few days," the youngest looking said, putting a hand on his older brother's shoulder. Grinning, he added, "And seeing that all of us are directionally challenged, we could use some help."
"Of course. It's down this hall, to the right, third door on the left." Looking to the oldest, she said, "Congratulations, by the way."
"Yes, that's quite the achievement around here," Devna smiled.
He winked at them and bowed. "Thank you kindly."
The middle sister addressed them both, but she was looking at Elle. "Perhaps we'll see you at the ceremony."
The princess noticed a slight blush tint her cheeks. "Elle should be there, right? I seem to recall Darcia saying she was going to be standing off with some of the other servants."
The youngest took her hand and kissed it. "Well then, Elle, we'll hope to see you there."
The trio of siblings walked around them and down the hall, each stealing a glance back at the pretty maid.
"If they only knew," Devna grinned.
Elle hushed her, a full on blush having seized her. "Shh," she grinned. "They don't need to know that I outrank them."
"I think you should have asked their names. They each seemed interested, you know."
Unable to look at the princess for her embarrassment, Elle stared straight ahead. "Did they? I hadn't noticed."
Devna just rolled her eyes.
