OUCHIES
Madam President (Kamala Harris x female reader)
I was rushed to write this so there might be mistakes SORRY
The rest of the day is difficult and the day after that, you come to work as usual happily. You enter Kamala's office with a bright smile. "Hey gorgeous!" She's sitting at her desk, going through documents and reports when you enter the office with a bright smile and cheerful greeting. Seeing your smile and your casual manner causes a pang of guilt and regret in her heart, knowing what she has to do. She looks up at you, her expression a mix of affection and sadness as she responds, "Hey. You seem to be in a good mood this morning." "Yea I'm just happy to see you again! Days off are nice but it's tough to be away from you..." You say as you go to her before to settle down to get a kiss. "Mmm missed this!" She sighs softly as you approach, her guilt increasing as you get closer to her. But she can't help but also feel a warm sense of affection for you, which only makes what she has to do even harder. She allows you to kiss her, her heart breaking as she wraps her arms around you in a tight embrace. After a moment, she breaks the kiss, holding you tightly and looking at you with a mixture of love and sorrow. "I've missed this too... but we need to talk."
You tilt your head on the side lightly. "Hey you look... upset, what's up?" She takes a deep breath, her expression becoming serious as she tries to gather her thoughts. She continues holding you in a tight embrace, needing the grounding comfort of your closeness to find the strength to say what she needs to. "It's... it's about us. About what we have together..." She hesitates for a moment, her voice becoming softer and laced with guilt and sorrow. "We need to end this, (y/n). We need to end our... affair." The subtle smile you had on your face drops suddenly as you freeze and look at her. She holds you tighter, feeling the way you freeze in her arms. She can feel your shock and hurt through the sudden tension in your body, and it only makes her heart ache even more. "I'm sorry (y/n)... this is incredibly difficult for me but it's the only way." She takes a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "We can't keep doing this behind Doug's back... it's wrong and it's hurting him and our marriage." "B-bu-b..." You try to speak but don't manage to say anything for now as you look away and lean back in your chair. She watches you, feeling the mix of pain and confusion on your face.
She gently cups your cheek and turns your face back towards her, forcing you to look at her. "Please, (y/n). Say something... I need to know you understand why this has to happen." She continues holding onto you, her heart breaking even more as she sees the pain and confusion in your eyes. You take a breath and try to speak again. "But you... you said we'll find a solution, that we'll make it through everything..." You say as you look at her with teary eyes. She looks into your teary eyes, her heart breaking further at your words. She remembers those words she said, those promises she made. And now, she's having to break them, shattering your trust in the process. "I know... I made promises, and I genuinely believed we could find a way to be together... but I was wrong." She takes a deep breath, her voice filled with regret and sorrow. "I was wrong to make those promises, and I'm wrong to have pursued this in the first place... It's hurting everyone." 'But I love you-" Your voice cracks as you break in tears and turn a bit away from her. She gently pulls you back towards her, holding you tightly as you break down in tears. Seeing you in pain, knowing that she's the cause of your suffering, it's like a knife in her heart.
She wraps her arms around you, holding you close as her own eyes begin to well up. "I know you do and I... I love you, too..." She can barely speak through the lump in her throat, her voice thick with emotion and guilt. "Don't touch me!" You say as you try to push her away. She flinches at your forceful words and the way you try to push her away. It stings to be rejected like this after all they've been through. "(y/n), please... I'm just trying to comfort you." She tries to reach out again, gently placing a hand on your shoulder, desperately wanting to hold you close and ease your pain. You don't move as you cry heavily and your body trembles a little. She takes advantage of your stillness and pulls you closer to her once again, wrapping her arms around you tight. She holds you against her, feeling the way your body trembles as you sob. Her own tears start to fall as she holds you, her heart breaking at the pain she's causing you. "I'm so sorry... I never wanted to hurt you like this." She whispers softly, her voice shaky and filled with emotion. You eventually grab the back of her suit as you cry into her shoulder. She feels you clinging to her suit, the way your hands grip it tightly as you cry into her shoulder. She holds you even tighter, her own tears falling onto your hair as she gently cradles you in her arms.
"I've got you... I'm here." She whispers softly, her voice barely audible over the sobs and the sound of your crying. "No you're not, you're leaving me..." You mutter between sobs as you dig your nails a bit in her back. She winces slightly as your nails dig into her back but she doesn't pull away. She holds you even tighter as you cry, her heart breaking at your words. She takes a deep breath, her voice thick with emotion as she speaks. "I know... and it's tearing me apart but you know why I have to do this, right?" She gently runs her fingers gently through your hair, trying to soothe you even just a little. You nod, knowing deep down she's right and there's no good solution currently. You squeeze her against you as you keep crying and lift your head a little, trying to reach her lips. She feels your head lift up, knowing what you're trying to do. But as much as her heart wants to give in to your unspoken request, she knows it's wrong. She gently pushes your head back down, not allowing your lips to reach hers. "No we can't... I can't break Doug's heart like that, even more than I already have." She whispers softly, her voice full of regret and pain.
Her fingers gently brush strands of hair away from your face as she holds you close. "Please one last time, you're breaking me too you know..." You say as you look up at her with glossy eyes and put a hand on her cheek. She feels your hand on her cheek, the touch both soothing and painful at the same time. She looks into your glassy eyes, her heart breaking at the pain and desperation she sees reflected back at her. "(y/n)... I..." She hesitates for a moment, her resolve faltering. She's so torn between wanting to give in to your request and knowing how wrong it would be. "Just once..." She whispers, her voice barely audible as she leans in towards you. You bring your lips up to capture hers gently, your tears calming a little. She can feel her heart thump faster as your lips meet hers, that familiar taste and sensation flooding her with a mix of pleasure and guilt. She responds to the kiss, her arms wrapping around you tighter as their lips move gently together. For a brief moment, it's as if the outside world doesn't exist, just the two of them in a bubble of desire and love. But then, reality comes crashing back down and the guilt and pain return tenfold.
You feel it too then slowly pull away, resting your forehead on hers. She rests her forehead against yours, her breathing slightly heavy from the kiss. She keeps her eyes closed, trying to hold onto that moment of closeness for just a few more seconds before the world pulls her back down to reality. She takes a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper as she speaks, her voice full of remorse and regret. "I'm so sorry, (y/n). I'm so damn sorry..." Your tears keep flowing and you nod. "I... I can't work here anymore either." She lifts her head up as you speak, her heart sinking further. She knew this was coming, but it still hurts to hear you say it. "(y/n)... you don't have to make any hasty decisions. You don't have to leave your job because of me." She reaches out and gently cups your face, her thumbs wiping away your tears. "No I can't keep being around you-" You say as you cry even harder and abruptly stand up. She stands up quickly as you get up, her hands reaching out to try and keep you from leaving. "Wait (y/n), please. Don't go like this." Her voice is urgent, pleading with you to stay and talk to her. She can feel the pain and sadness rolling off of you in waves and it's killing her inside.
Your breath quickens as you get a little overwhelmed by sadness. "N-no I-" She sees the way your breath quickens and your body tenses, sensing your growing distress. She steps closer, her hands still outstretched towards you. "(y/n)... please, just calm down for a moment. We need to talk about this." She speaks gently, trying to soothe you and get you to calm down but her words are filled with urgent desperation. "N-no." You say as you shake your head a little and step back until you reach the door and leave in a hurry. She watches as you shake your head and step back, her heart breaking as you leave the room in a rush. She tries to call out to you but you're already gone before the words can even leave her mouth. She stands there for a moment, her heart heavy with guilt and sadness. She knows this conversation was painful, but she feels like there's so much more left unsaid. She feels a strong urge to go after you, to find you and talk things out, but she knows it's probably for the best to give you some space right now.
NO WORRIES GUYS no spoilers but I won't end this story on a sad note! We just need drama ð
