Chapter 6

Ate 💫

Madam President (Kamala Harris x female reader)

Kamala wakes up slowly the next day as she hears loud tumbling on her door. "Kamala?! Kamala are you in there??" She jolts awake from her sleepy daze as she hears the commotion outside. "What the..?" She groans and pulls herself out from the bed, walking drowsily over towards the door while rubbing sleep out of her eyes. "Oh my god I got so scared!" You say as soon as she opens the door and you grab her into an embrace right away. "Whoa! Easy there! What's all this about?" She is a little startled by your sudden embrace but soon she brings her arms around you and returns the hug, enjoying the feel of your body against hers. She's still a little groggy, and her hair is tousled in a way that makes her look absolutely hot. "There's a fire, we need to evacuate! You weren't replying so I thought... I mean I was worried for you." You explain as some members of her security join you to prepare her stuff. You take a moment to look at her sleepy form, realizing her body is a little exposed and her messy hair.

She takes in the information, her mind starting to wake up properly as she hears what you say. She glances between you and the security people, a small frown forming on her face. "I was sleeping very deeply, I'm sorry love, I didn't hear you." The slip up in her speech doesn't go unnoticed by her, and a small blush appears on her cheeks. She's not sure how much sleep she got, but she knows for sure she just called you 'love'. You smile faintly as she calls you that and look around. "We'll go to the tour bus early so you can perhaps catch extra sleep and then get ready for this afternoon." She nods at your suggestion, realizing how tired she is. "Yeah, I could definitely use the extra sleep." She mumbles, running a hand through her messy hair. "Are you coming with us?" "No I'm staying among the flames." You tease her sarcastically. "Duh I'm coming!" She rolls her eyes at your sarcastic comment and lets out a small laugh. "Of course. Yes, I knew that, shut up. I'm still tired, give me a break." She sticks her tongue out in a playful manner.

You giggle and offer a hand to guide her since she's not completely awake. "Alright Jeez! Just come with me "little girl". You say jokingly. She narrows her eyes with a small amused smile and takes your hand. "Hey! I am not a little girl, I'm an adult!" She protests, jokingly whining like a child might. You giggle again. "Yea right..." You say playfully as you take her to the tour bus discreetly to not catch the attention. She lets you lead her, her eyes still partly closed and her body still heavy with tiredness. "I resent that, I'm a grown woman!" She mumbles as she follows you, stifling a yawn. "A grown woman who needs some more sleep before this afternoon's speech." You say as you lead her to a mattress that the team prepared for her to sleep on and you push her down lightly. She allows you to do so, her body all too happy to collapse again. Her head hits the soft pillow and she lets out a content sigh. "I suppose I could use a little more rest... as a very grown up woman."

"Yes, a woman with responsibilities in addition. You need energy." You say as you sit in a chair nearby and get your computer. She lets her eyes close, enjoying the comfortable feeling of the pillow against her head. She groans quietly with content and mumbles without opening her eyes. "Yeah yeah, I know... just shut up and let me sleep, please." You playfully raise your hands in surrender and stay quiet as you get to work on your screen. She lets out a small sigh as she relaxes against the mattress, her body finally letting go and falling into a deep sleep. The soft noise of the vehicle on the road, in addition to the tiredness from the previous night, quickly makes her fall into a deep dreamless sleep. You smile as you eventually look at her sleeping from time to time. After a few hours you normally should wake her up so she'd get ready for her speech but you don't want to disturb her sleep so you go slowly next to her and try to wake her up softly by shaking her shoulder. "Kamala?"

She mumbles unintelligible words in her sleepy daze as she senses you shaking her shoulder. Her eyelashes flutter slightly before her eyes slowly open. Her mind is hazy and a bit disoriented as she returns to the real world.

"Mmm... what's going on?" "Time to wake up." You speak softly to wake her up delicately, your hand stroking her arm as you remove it.

The brush of your fingers against her arm sends shivers down her spine, her body waking up faster than her brain. She yawns and rubs her eyes gently before propping herself up on the mattress with her arms. "How long did I sleep for..?" "Perhaps 3 hours? You were totally out." She groans groggily as she straightens her back, running a hand through her messy hair to try and fix it at least a bit. "That's better than three minutes, I suppose."

She says as she lets the blankets slip to her lap, her bare legs peeking out from her tiny robe.

You glance down without realizing it but then catch yourself and look away, blushing. "I'll let you wake up and dress in peace." She notices your glance but doesn't comment on it, enjoying how easy it is to get a reaction from you.

"Yeah, I don't think I'm presentable right now. Plus I need to eat something before anything else." She starts to stand up from the mattress, standing in front of you and stretching. You smile at her comment and nod. "Don't worry we got food ready for a good breakfast!" You say as your eyes linger a bit more on her arms and skin as she stretches. She lets out a small hum, blissfully unaware of how much you are looking at her. She lowers her arms and smiles slightly. "Food sounds great, I'm starving. Where is it exactly?" You feel a warm wave in your stomach at her little sound but don't let anything show. "I prepared it for you, I'll be right back." You go get a tray of food for her. She watches as you go get the food, a faint blush tinting her cheeks. She sits back on the mattress and pulls at the shirt slightly to try and cover herself up, but it doesn't do much in that regard. "You shouldn't have, you're too sweet to me, darling." "Nah it's nothing, plus you need energy for your speech later." You say as you put the tray down on a little table next to the bed. She glances at the food and smiles. Her stomach growls slightly, begging to be fed. She looks back at you and pats a spot on the mattress next to her.

"I do, but so do you. Come on, sit with me while I eat." You obey and sit next to her. "Do you feel ready?" She takes a small bite of the food in front of her, moaning slightly in appreciation as she swallows it. "As ready as ever, darling. I've done speeches a thousand times. Nothing new." She looks over at you as she says this, her eyes studying your expression. "Your confidence is so impressive, I'd be so terrified to do a speech in front of so many people and TV of course." She smiles and lets out a small laugh as you compliment her. She takes another bite of food, feeling warm with your words. "It can be scary the first few times, but I've been in front of cameras and large crowds my whole life, so nowadays it's natural for me. I just pretend it's like a family gathering and suddenly it becomes much easier to address. Plus I know these people want to hear what I have to say." "You're such a badass!" You say spontaneously as you look at her. She lets out another small laugh, clearly amused by your choice of words. "Thanks, sweetie. I think that's the first time I've heard that as a compliment."

She gives you a sidelong glance as she continues to eat, a slightly teasing smile on her face. "So you are saying I'm hot and powerful?" You giggle and have a little blush as you glance away. "Well yes actually, it fits you..." She lets out a small hum in appreciation, enjoying this conversation immensely. She's always loved compliments. She swallows another bite and looks over at you, a little smirk on her lips. "Hm, I'm glad to hear that. I'm glad you think I'm attractive." She turns and shifts closer to you, her leg coming to rest against yours as she leans against you slightly, her voice taking on a more sultry tone. "You do find me attractive... don't you?" "Yes, it's not a secret to anyone that you're attractive Madam President." You say as you turn back towards her and get a bit surprised to see how close she got. She chuckles quietly at your response, amused by your surprised tone. She brings up one hand and pushes your hair out of your face, looking at you directly as she leans even closer. "Oh, I know that. That's not what I was asking, though, love. I was asking YOU if you think I'm attractive." She moves her hand to your chin and lightly tilts it up, forcing you to hold her gaze.

You feel a warm shiver as you face her, her eyes are so intense. "Yes... Yes I do, I think you're very attractive." Her smile widens into a smirk, clearly pleased by this answer. Her free hand comes up to rest on your waist, pulling you ever so slightly closer to her. She looks into your eyes, the smirk never leaving her face. "Very attractive? You're going to make my ego go through the roof." She says as she looks you up and down slowly, her eyes raking over your figure shamelessly. You let a silent gasp from her touch and look at the other members of the team in the distance who are not watching for now. "Kamala, they're right here..." Her smirk gets even wider as she hears the slight gasp slip from your lips, her hand on your waist grabbing you a little tighter in response. She glances behind to where the rest of the team is, and then looks back to you, biting her lip. "I suppose that's a fair point... we don't want to give them quite a show now, do we?" She chuckles quietly, her voice lowered. You nod and stay close to her even if you're worried about someone turning and seeing you. "I wanted to ask you something."

She picks up on your nervousness, but doesn't comment on it. "Sure, darling, go ahead. What is it?" "After your speech we booked a villa for you for the rest of the week and wondered who you want there with you because there's only 4 rooms. The others will stay in another place nearby." She raises an eyebrow at that, a small smile appearing on her face. "Only for me, hm?" She pauses to eat some more, thinking over her answer. She knows the right, rational answer. And she also knows the answer she really wants. She speaks a little while later. "I want you there with me." You have a stupid smile on your face and nod. "Nice, we'll be able to keep working then. Who else?" She chuckles at the "we'll be able to keep working" comment, knowing full well you both planned to do anything but work in that villa. She pretends it's the truth though, and looks like she's thinking about an answer again. "No one else. Just the two of us." She says, trying to keep her face neutral. You take a breath as you realize you'll be alone with her. "Oh o-okay. You're sure you don't need anyone else for your schedule and everything?"

She notices the slight hesitation in your response to being alone with her, and she bites back a smirk. She keeps up her cool facade though and shakes her head slightly to answer you. "No, I'm sure we'll manage. You're good at your job, aren't you? You'll be enough support for me." "Alright, perfect then. I'll deal with the last details of the reservations and let you finish." You say as you stand up and grab up your phone. She lets out a small hum of acknowledgement as she watches you grab your phone. Her eyes can't help but linger on your curves, admiring the sight of you standing above her, before she speaks. "Yeah, you go do that, darling. I'll get my things ready and then we'll be set to go." You nod and leave to make a few phone calls as Kamala's gaze lingers on your body...
