The first one
Since he had agreed in a moment of weakness there was no way to get out of it...
And there was no James to save him or a Kit to distract them when Jacob and he drove away from the pack house that Friday evening. The fifth day of the deal.
He kinda wished they could have taken Sam. He wouldn't be so nervous if Sam was there laughing his ass of.
Even Finn was alright...
There wouldn't be such tension if they where here.
'Where are we going?' His wolf was very very deep in the back of his mind. Like he didn't even want to think about helping him with this one.
It made him feel even worse.
Jacob smiled.
He was handsome... it made Alec mad.
He wore a dark blue button up and tight dark denim jeans. That made him look al fancy and mature.
Alec had just put on one of his new sweaters because he wanted to feel comfortable and he already hated clothes as they were. Sil knew he wouldn't buy himself clothes so they just appeared in his closet every morning. They were comfy and soft and apparently stylish, not that he even cared a little.
'On a date.' Jacob told him smirking like a maniac.
Alec sighed.
'Yea... but where? '
'Its a surprise.' Alec rolled his eyes.
'I don't like surprises.'
'Its a fun surprise.'
'Are we going hunting?'
'No.'
'Swimming?'
'No.?'
'You gonna bring me back home?'
'No....' Jacob sounded a little odd when he said that.
'Than it won't be fun...'
'You promised to give this a change.' Jacob said.
He rolled his eyes again.
'Fine...'
Alec looked out the window. They were heading to the town. It was the only town near the pack. A small town that had everything one needed to have. Even a small mall, some restaurants and a movie theater.
'Your taking me out to diner aren't you.'
'I asked your mom about your favorite.' He admitted.
Alec didn't tell him his favorite food had changes for a while now. Jacob seems to have a to tick of a skull to get thru. So he let it slide.
It was one of the fancy restaurants, a small Italian place.
It smelled amazing and it looked cozy.
They were seated in a corner far away from other guests.
Alec gripped om the menu for distraction while Jacob stared at him.
'What are you gonna get?' Jacob asked him trying to make any conversation in this extremely awkward situation.
'Don't know... you?'
'I think I'm gonna go with the shrimp parmezaan.'
When the girl took they're orders she kept sneaking glances at Jacob. She smiled flirty at him and seemed to try and figure out if this was a friend thing or a date thing. Alec wondered if he should be jealous or not.
If they where mates... then... he probably should...right?!
'I thought that we could go to the movies after this.'
This was really a bad surprise... it was the most classical date ever.
Thought Alec didn't mind. It was his first date ever..
So he just nodded.
'Or we could just go for a walk... I think your not really into movies anymore.' Jacob said scratching his chin.
Alec nodded. Surprised Jacob had even noticed this at all.
'I would rather walk..' he admitted.
'We'll do that than!' This might be one of the first times he actually listened to him..
Alec took a sip of his water and turned the glas around in his hands.
'When did you know?' He asked.
'Know what?'
'That you know... we were mates?' He waved His hand between them. Alec had been wondering it for a while.
Jacob was almost a year older than him. And he had heard from others that when you where 18 you could find your mate. Even if your mate wasn't 18 yet... so if Jacob was his mate... shouldn't he have already known?
'On that night... same as you.' Jacob sighed.
'Wish I knew sooner... than I could have... I could've changed something... convinced you to stay maybe .'
Alec doubted that very much.
'And what did you think?'
Alec remembered him being so silent.. like he wasn't even really there.
'I... I ... It was...I regretted everything.. I was in denial... at first..'
Jacob sighed deeply and shifted in his seat.
He seemed nervous.
'I didn't think I liked boys... and well.. you... we weren't exactly friends. So I didn't know what to do or think.'
Alec nodded. Because he really didn't know what to say.
'Did you?' Jacob asked.
'Did i what?'
'Like boys.'
'No.... maybe... I am not sure. I think I might like both You know.' Alec said.
Species didn't seem to matter for him to.
'Not gay then?' Jacob frowned.
Alec shook his head.
'No... I had a crush on a she-nymph for a while. But I also had this....' Alec stopped talking when he saw the light glow of a jealous wolf in the eyes of the boy in front of him. A bright green that came fort from his eyes to show the wolf that was pushing at the surface.
He rolled his eyes.
'I didn't remember you even excised..' He defended himself.
'Right.'
Well this was getting awkward.
Alec looked at the dark oak table and dragged a finger over its texture.
He missed al them nymphs. They're presence was calming.
He liked when they sang.
Not when the sirens did it of course.
Then you had to stuff your ears with tissues or clay. Or you know... get dragged to the bottom of the lake and die.
But he liked the sound of nymphs it was something no human performer could ever top. Ever.
'Did you date anyone then?'
'After you left ... no.'
He wanted to asked if that included humans. Because for wolfs that usually didn't. And Jacob was the type to have had a lot of human girls for fun. But he didn't want to know the answer.
And it didn't really matter anyway.
Alec wasn't gonna give this mate thing a real change.
After nine more days he was going home and would never come back.
He could never love Jacob.
There was to much in between them.
To much horrible words that echoed on the back of his mind when he heard him talk. When they laughed he couldn't help but remember every time they had laughed at him.
He could feel it.
Like a knife turned around in his heart.
He forgot it was there from time to time. But then something happened or someone said something and... it just twisted .
And it still hurt.
'I kept it you know.' Jacob whispered. He got something out of his pocket. When he put the purple colored stone on the tablet Alec didn't even recognize it right away.
'I didn't know why you had it... but your blood was on it...and it was the only thing that was there... after... you..' he touched it surprisingly gentle. Like he had done that before. He had kept that silly now useless stone for over two years...
'It was how I called upon Sil.' Alec explained to him. Jacob frowned. Looking at the odd stone. There was nothing special about it anymore.
'Its a magic stone. Warlocks leave them everywhere to tempt people in making deals with them. I found one and was desperate enough to use it.' Alec shrugged.
'I don't regret it.' He told him honest. But he was also lucky... he knew that. He could have met a darker warlock that would have totally used those words he said to Sil in all the wrong ways...
Jacob sighed deeply.
'Cant say I blame you for it...' Jacob looked at little lost.
He touched the stone seemingly without thinking.
'Do you want it back?'
Alec frowned.
'I doesn't work anymore.'
Jacob nodded.
'So I can keep it?' He asked. Alec found himself a little startled. The question was so... like he was emotionally attached to the rock... guess Jacob really had changed then. That was an odd thing to know.
Alec smiled a little and nodded.
Jacob put it back in his pocket.
'I am so in love with you.' Jacob sighed and Alec dropped the fork in his hand, while eating whatever he had ordered. It was nice food but it did not top a freshly hunted prey. He didn't really remember what he ordered. He had just pointed at something with meat in it.
He opened and closed his mounts like a fish out of the water.
What the heck was he supposed to say now!? Where did this come from! Where they not talking about a history project he wasn't gonna do just a minute ago. Did he miss something?!
He was not in love with Jacob.
He hardly even liked the guy. Well.. maybe he was starting to warm up at least... But here he was telling Alec he loved him. Maybe he hit his head against something?
'Will you go on another date with me?' He asked.
Alec didn't want to ... not really. He wanted to go home. Crawl into his den and forget his worries. Love felt like a burden.
But a phone rang and Jacob answered.
He smiled at first but his smile disappeared and Alec just knew bad things were happening.
It was like a shiffer down his spine. Something in the back of his head screamed that things were wrong. He needed to leave. Needed to get out of here.
'What's wrong?' He asked when Jacob put his phone away and continued eating like nothing had happened.
'Noting its alright... don't worry about it babe.'
Alec frowned.
'You can tell me.'
Jacob grabbed his hand before Alec could stop it and nodded.
'I know. You want some desert?'
Alec didn't want desert. He wanted to know what was going on.
'Sure.'
