“I didn’t say I don’t want it.” Deng Yang was annoyed. “I didn’t ask for this because I know you’re not here, but can you at least have a bit of understanding?”

Yun Xiangxiang was embarrassed. “W...well, shall I work tomorrow morning then? I need to fly back tomorrow night.”

If she left tomorrow night, it would be the night of the second in China. She could go back to her campus in time for the reopening on the third.

“Why is your schedule so packed? Why did you come here this time?” Yun Xiangxiang only had one endorsement in New York; this fashion shop didn’t count as one.

She wouldn’t be in this much of a hurry if she were attending a release event.

“I’m here to borrow some diamonds for my filming,” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t hide it from Deng Yang.

“You’re borrowing diamonds?” Deng Yang frowned. “You can ask MonRoe to send them over. They have some special way to send them.”

You don’t have to come here yourself in such a hurry, coming straight from Venice.

“I’m borrowing the Star of Peace.” Yun Xiangxiang smiled. “It’s inconvenient for them to send it to me,” she answered.

Deng Yang was shocked. “What did you borrow?”

“The Star of Peace,” Yun Xiangxiang repeated.

“MonRoe trusts you, don’t they?” They even lent you the face of their brand.

“Because I’m pretty. Nobody’s going to refuse a request from someone as pretty as I am.” Yun Xiangxiang was full of herself.

They were only awarded the best foreign film award or the best filming award, while everything else was just nominated.

Yun Xiangxiang knew if Deng Yang got the best fashion design award, that would mean fame and fortune for her.

But it wasn’t easy, perhaps only having a slightly higher chance than Yun Xiangxiang getting the best actress award.

“I’ll ask Director Wei to do the negotiations with you then.” Yun Xiangxiang liked the plot of “Soar to the Sky,” but she didn’t anticipate it as much as Deng Yang did.

Nobody could afford Deng Yang’s price even when she was down and out, let alone now when she was already making a comeback.

There was a weakness in the Sinosphere films: They didn’t pay too much attention to the attire. Even if they did, the most they would ask was for it to fit the era.

There were some who did, but they rarely designed every costume meticulously. Even big productions ignored this part of the film.

TV dramas cared less about that. Some claimed to have ordered a ton of custom-made dresses, but those were just marketing stunts.

Some hired masters of the craft to make the costumes, but most audiences wouldn’t care for it even if they used it.

The audience would think that as long as the film was great, the protagonists were pretty enough, they could accept everything else. Creating beautiful costumes would be a waste of money for them.

It was precisely because the audience didn’t ask much from the costumes, the production team would not be that strict on this part, unlike how they would go toward the scenes since that was what the audience would want.

Even so, more teams were paying attention to this, even though most of them were dramas set in ancient eras.

Most modern films got their costumes from their sponsors, while some called it from their actors.

“Oh, everything’s negotiable with your film.” Deng Yang would give Wei Shanwen an acceptable price.

She wouldn’t care even if she would lose money, as all investments are risky. Nobody could predict if they would make or lose money.

It was fortunate that “Soar to the Sky” was still in its preparation phase to take more than half a year. It wouldn’t take up much of her time.

She had the chips to ask He Wei to tell Wei Shanwen about this because he borrowed the villa for the filming.

If it were any other director—for example, Wu Zhao—she would feel awkward if she asked about it. If she were to play in foreign films, Yun Xiangxiang wouldn’t even attempt to request this.
