The world around Li Na shifted once again, as if reality itself were slipping from her grasp. Colors blurred and dimmed, fading into a soft, hazy glow. The scent of flowers in the wind became distant, and the vibrant sounds of the world dulled into a faraway echo. She felt herself falling deeper into this dream-like state, unsure if she would ever wake up.
And then she saw itâa small, familiar room, bathed in the soft morning light of a new day. It was a child's bedroom, filled with toys, books, and the comforting scent of freshly washed linens. Her breath caught in her chest as she took in the scene before her.
There, in the center of the room, lay a young boy sleeping soundly. It was Shen Yun Tian, his small form nestled under the covers, his chest rising and falling with the gentle rhythm of sleep. His hair was messy, his face soft with the innocence of youth. Li Na's heart clenched at the sightâshe had return back to the time when he was still young.
Now, Li Na watched as that very boy began to stir in his sleep. His fingers twitched, his breathing became uneven, and slowly, Shen Yun Tian's eyes fluttered open. At first, there was a dazed confusion in his gaze, the sort of look that accompanies waking from a dream. He blinked, rubbed his eyes with small fists, and looked around the room, still half-asleep.
But then, something changed.
A flicker of recognition passed over his face, and his gaze sharpened. His eyes, once filled with the innocence of childhood, darkened with a strange intensityâan intensity far too deep for a boy his age. It was as if something inside him had awoken, something old, something... from another life.
Li Na watched in stunned silence as the child sat up slowly, his small hands gripping the edge of the blanket tightly. The room seemed to grow colder, and the innocence of the moment evaporated.
Then, in a voice far too steady for a child, he whispered, "Li Na..."
The way he said her name sent a chill down her spine. It was as if he wasn't just calling out to a childhood friend. No, this was the voice of a man who had lived a life of regret and longing.
And in that moment, Li Na realized the truth: he remembered everything. Shen Yun Tian had awoken not just as the boy he once was, but with the memories and emotions of his past life. The boy sitting in that bed was no longer just a childâhe was the man who had loved her, lost her, and died with the weight of his obsession.
He had been reborn.
His small hands balled into fists, and his young face twisted into a strange mixture of determination and desperation. "This time," he muttered, his voice trembling, "I won't leave you, Li Na. I won't make the same mistake."
Li Na's heart raced as she listened to him. The Shen Yun Tian from her visions, the one who had lived and died with the torment of losing her, was here, in the body of a boy. But the innocence of his youth was gone, replaced by the obsessive need to rewrite his fate.
"I'll stay by your side," he whispered to himself, his small body trembling with the intensity of his resolve. "I'll never leave you again. This time, I'll keep my promise."
As time passed, the other Li Na, the young version of herself, remained blissfully unaware of the change in Shen Yun Tian. To her, he was still the boy she had played with, the boy she had promised to marry in their childhood games. But Li Na could see itâthe darkness in his eyes, the way his gaze never left her.
One day, as they sat in the garden, the other Li Na picked flowers, humming softly to herself. She looked so carefree, so unaware of the storm brewing inside Shen Yun Tian's mind.
"Yun Tian," the other Li Na said with a smile, "I'm going to make a flower crown for you, just like we used to do."
Shen Yun Tian didn't smile back. His eyes were fixed on her, watching every move she made with an intensity that felt far too adult for his young face. "You promised you'd be mine," he said quietly, his voice low, almost threatening.
The other Li Na blinked, her hands freezing over the flowers. "What are you talking about?" she asked, her smile faltering.
"The promise we made," he said, his small fists clenching the grass beneath him. "You said you'd marry me. That you'd always stay with me."
The other Li Na let out a soft, awkward laugh. "Oh, that? We were kids, Yun Tian. We were just playing."
Shen Yun Tian's face darkened. "It wasn't just a game. You promised. And I'm never going to let you break that promise."
The other Li Na stood up, her smile gone now, replaced with a look of confusion and unease. "Yun Tian, you're acting weird". He stood up too, stepping closer to her. "You belong to me. You promised. You can't leave."
The other Li Na took a step back, her face pale. "Yun Tian, you're scaring me. I'm going to go home."
As she turned to leave, Shen Yun Tian's small hand shot out and grabbed her wrist, his grip surprisingly strong for a boy his age. "You can't leave," he said, his voice shaking. "I won't let you."
The other Li Na yanked her hand free, her eyes wide with fear. "Stop it, Yun Tian! You're hurting me!"
Shen Yun Tian's eyes flickered with something dangerous, something desperate. "I'm doing this for you, Li Na. I'm never going to leave you again."
Without another word, the other Li Na turned and ran, her footsteps quick and panicked, leaving Shen Yun Tian standing alone in the garden, his fists clenched at his sides.
Li Na, watching from the shadows, felt her heart ache for her younger self. She could see where this was headed, the suffocating possessiveness that would soon consume him. This wasn't the love of a childhood friend. This was obsession, born from a life of regret and twisted by the pain of loss.
"I won't lose her again," Shen Yun Tian whispered to himself, his voice trembling with a dark, terrifying resolve. "Not this time."
And in that moment, Li Na understood the true tragedy of his rebirth. He hadn't been given a second chance to make things right. He had been given a second chance to repeat his mistakes. His love had become his prison, and now, it would be hers as well.
Time seemed to fast-forward, skipping the idyllic years of childhood as the garden scene shifted. The vibrant greenery of the past gave way to a suffocating tension that clung to the air like a dense fog.
The other Li Na had grown older, no longer the carefree child who danced in the gardens. Now a teenager, she moved through her days with the grace of a young woman, but the joy she once carried was gone, replaced by something far darker.
Shen Yun Tian had kept his promise. He had never left her side, but that very devotion had begun to strangle her. His presence was constant, looming. Every moment they shared seemed heavy with unspoken expectations, and it was driving the other Li Na further into a suffocating spiral.
"Where are you going?" Shen Yun Tian asked, his voice sharp as he leaned against the doorframe, watching her from across the room. His gaze followed her every movement, his eyes dark with suspicion.
"I'm just going out with some friends," the other Li Na replied, her tone edged with frustration. She moved to grab her coat, but he stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
"With who? Where exactly?" His eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms, his stance tense.
The other Li Na sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Why do you always have to ask me that, Yun Tian? Can't I go out without being interrogated?"
"I have a right to know where you are. You're my fiancée." His voice was cold, his words cutting like a blade.
Fiancée. That word. It felt like a chain around her neck, tightening with every passing day. The other Li Na shook her head, her frustration bubbling into anger. "You're suffocating me, Yun Tian! I can't breathe with you constantly hovering over me!"
He stepped closer, his face hardening as he grabbed her wrist. "You're mine, Li Na. You promised to stay with me. I won't let anyone else take you away."
The other Li Na yanked her wrist free, her eyes flashing with fury. "Stop treating me like your property! I'm not some possession you can control. I'm my own person, and I'll go wherever I want, with whoever I want."
The argument escalated, the air thick with the tension that had been simmering for months. Shen Yun Tian's temper flared, and his grip on her life tightened. He followed her everywhere, his gaze never leaving her, always questioning, always watching. The suffocating pressure became unbearable, and the other Li Na found herself turning to someone newâsomeone who made her feel free.
That someone was Ru Feng.
He appeared like a breath of fresh air, sweeping into her life with gentle charm and a carefree spirit that stood in stark contrast to Shen Yun Tian's oppressive control. The other Li Na found solace in Ru Feng's company, their shared laughter, and the sense of peace he brought her. But most of all, he didn't question her every move.
It was in those stolen moments with Ru Feng that she found herself truly happy, but that happiness was short-lived. Shen Yun Tian's possessiveness grew more volatile, and one evening, his paranoia got the better of him.
Without her knowledge, he had sent his men to follow her. The photographs they returned with ignited a fire within himâimages of the other Li Na and Ru Feng laughing together, holding hands, playing like children. It was too much for him to bear.
He confronted her that very night, storming into the room with an icy fury that sent chills down her spine.
"Li Na," Shen Yun Tian's voice was dangerously low, his eyes burning with anger. "Do you think I wouldn't find out?"
The other Li Na stood frozen, her heart pounding in her chest. "What are you talking about?"
He threw the photographs onto the table, the images of her and Ru Feng spilling across the surface like damning evidence. "This," he spat, his voice thick with rage. "You've been sneaking around behind my back. With him."
The other Li Na's blood ran cold as she looked down at the photos, but she refused to back down. "So what if I have? You've been suffocating me, Yun Tian! I needed space, and Ru Feng gave me that."
"You're my fiancée!" he shouted, slamming his fist onto the table. "You need to behave accordingly."
"Behave accordingly?!" she shot back, her voice rising. "I'm not your puppet! I won't be controlled by you!"
Their argument exploded, the air between them thick with tension and unspoken anger. But even as the other Li Na tried to stand her ground, she could feel Shen Yun Tian's grip tightening around her life, his obsession growing more dangerous with every passing second.
The other Li Na had made the decision to run to Ru Feng on a night when the suffocating weight of Shen Yun Tian's control became unbearable. Though they were only engaged, Shen Yun Tian treated her as though she belonged to him, every aspect of her life tightly under his thumb. He questioned where she went, who she saw, and with every passing day, his possessiveness grew more suffocating. Even her parents, who she thought might protect her, did nothing. In their eyes, Shen Yun Tian was the perfect son-in-lawâwealthy, handsome, and dedicated to their daughter. They never saw the way his attention had darkened into obsession, and each time Li Na sought their help, they simply brushed it off, telling her how lucky she was.
Feeling trapped and desperate, Li Na found herself turning to Ru Feng. He was the opposite of Shen Yun Tianâeasygoing, gentle, offering her the freedom and understanding she craved. With him, she could breathe again, and though she knew her relationship with Ru Feng was dangerous, she couldn't stop herself. Ru Feng became her escape, the only person who made her feel like she had control over her own life. And so, one night, she made the choice to leave everything behindâher family, her engagement, her old lifeâand ran into Ru Feng's arms, hoping to find solace away from Shen Yun Tian's tightening grip. But tonight, everything would come crashing down.
