What x The x Hell? (Chapter 17)

An: So, I am skipping a few episodes but we didn't miss the major events in Y/N's pov...I think. And I will try to help you guys learn nen too. Also, remember that I do my own any of the pictures. Enjoy this chapter!

"Wait. Y/N, why did you cover your ears?" Gon asked. "I thought it was going to be loud," I said. Gon nods and Killua looks at me with suspicion.

~Diary input #1~

Is been around 3 months. So Hisoka finally was willing to let Gon fight him. Gon went up against Gido and impressed the stupid clown. (I'm currently not on speaking terms with him ) Gon and Killua are working really hard. I'm proud of them. Today Mr.Wing is FINALLY letting us take the division test. Can't wait! Also, I think Zushi has a crush on me and I think it is annoying Killua. Killua is so cute when he is annoyed. (His cute regardless of what emotion he's showing)

"Today we're going to begin our study of Hatsu. Once you master Hatsu, then you will have mastered all the basics of nen. At that point in your education, you'll need to start developing your own Nen style." Wing explained. "Osu!" We bowed in sync. "Hatsu is the technique by which you control your aura. In other words, it's the culmination of Nen abilities of which there are six categories."

"Enhancers strengthen and reinforce natural abilities."

"Emitters propel aura."

"Transmuters change the quality of aura."

"Conjurers materialize objects out of aura."

"Manipulators control things with aura."

"And specialists are those with a unique and distinct aura that doesn't fall within the other five classes."

"It's incredibly important that you find an ability that suits you." Wing said. "What do you mean suits you?" Gon asked. "Nen abilities are highly personal with two areas of particular prominence. The ability that you're born with and of course, the ability you've refined later in life."

"For example, Gon here was born with muscles that are more flexible and springy than most. The acute senses were honed by a childhood spent mostly in nature. So, you see, from the moment of birth, your nen ability falls within one of the six categories. It's possible for your nen aura to change types later on, although that's quite rare. If you attempt to learn a new ability, one that doesn't fit your natural aura, you will have a hard time." He writes a table on the board.

"This depicts the compatibility of the six categories. The closer a class is to your own, the greater your chances of learning it. If you are born with an aura of the Enhancer category, you will find Enhancer abilities easiest to learn and master. The adjacent Transmuter and Emitter classes will also be easy to pick up. On the other hand, the Specialist class, which is the furthest away, would undoubtedly prove quite difficult."

"I'll demonstrate using skills you've already seen. Hisoka is able to change his air into a rubber-like substance so, he's a Transmuter. Gido uses his tops as a weapon by making them spin faster." Wing demonstrates. "So he is an enhancer, right?" I asked. "Correct. But trying to manipulate so many tops as weapons also requires the skill of a Manipulator. Since that isn't very compatible he wasn't very effective."

"As for Kastro, his Tiger Bite Fist was incredibly strong. Has he mastered it, he would have been among the strongest Nen users. I believe that his aura fell into the Enhancer class. However, he chose to focus his energy on the power to create a double, which is a Conjurer's ability. He also required the ability of a Manipulator to control the double. As you can see, both of those are relatively far from the Enhancer category."

"So neither of them was compatible with an Enhancer type?" Gon asked. "Correct." Wing answered. "Learning an incompatible ability requires a great deal of work and natural talent. As a result of the focus of his training, he squandered most of his talent in Nen ability." Wing explained.

"So you're saying is, Kastro made the wrong choice," Killua questioned. "He was such a great fighter," Zushi commented. "What a shame."

"What do you think? Are you all beginning to see the importance of fully understanding your own aura as well as its nature?" Wing asked.

"Osu!"

"Okay so, if you don't know your aura's type, like, what category it's in, is there a way to find out?" Killua asked. "There is." Wing said as he smiled.

I jump up and down excited. "I finally get to find out!" I cheered. "How long did you know about nen?" Killua asked. "Since I was about 4. M/N didn't let me take this test though. I didn't know it was a glass cup and a leaf." I said. "Well, we are talking g later," Killua said upset. "Water Divination, a Shingen-Ryu screening tool for classifying aura. It's also used in training Hatsu. (the release of one's aura so it can be projected to carry out a certain function.)

"Perform Ren (a technique to release massive amounts of your latent aura in a short burst, usually for a very big or explosive offensive.) with your hands placed on either side of the glass. Your ability will be revealed by what happens." Wing puts his hands by the glass and then preformed Ren. The water began the float and overflow and I gasped.

"The water's overflowing!" Gon shouted. "If the volume of water changes, then you're an Enhancer. This change demonstrates that my aura falls within the Enhancer category. Okay, now it's time for you to try."

Gon puts his hands around the glass. The glass began overflowing and Gon and I gasped. "So Gon's an Enhancer, too?"

When it was Zushi's turn the leaf moved. "That movement indicates that you're a Manipulator." Wing said.

"All right, then. Let's do this!" He puts his hands by the glass and...nothing happened. "What gives? Nothing's happening." Killua thinned. "Indeed..." Wing added. "The leaf isn't moving either." Gon commented. "Can he not use nen? Is it the water that changed?" I asked. "Oh, no. Try tasting the water, Killua." Wing said. "Taste it?" Killua questioned. I dip my finger in the water and I smile. It tastes sweet! Try some!" I suggested. "Yeah, you're right!" Gon informed me. "That's true. It does taste sweet." Zushi added.

"Wait...then this isn't plain water?" Gon asked. "It was! I watched him use the tap water." I let out. "Only the taste of it has changed...due to Killua's aura." Wing explained. "What does not that mean?" Killua asked. "It means you're a Transmuter." Wing confirmed my belief.

"Wow! You're a Transmuter?" They asked. I scoff. "I bet I will get Specialist!"

I put my hands by the cup and I focus my energy and Ren on the glass. I watch the water boil and I wanted to stop. I saw my clear reflection even through the leaf. "That's creepy," I commented and Killua looked at me. "Nothing is happening besides the water boiling," Killua assured me. Then the water started to move and making a whispering sound.  I started to get a headache then everything turned black.

~Y/N's Dream #1~

"Baka! How did you die?!" Killua asked me while we were playing 'Minecraft?!.' "I don't know! I think I died of starvation." I sighed. "Oni-Chan~ Onee-Chan~" Alluka sang while mining some wood. "Hm?"

"How do you make a boat?" She asked. "In the crafting taAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Killua screamed. I started to laugh. "You died by a baby Zombie?! How?" I giggled. "Those things are really fast Y/N! How can you not die by one?" He asked.

"Dinnertime!" I heard through the speaker. "Ok! Alluka I will try to bring you some candy." I winked. "Ok Nee-Chan!" She smiled.

"Hello, Y/N-Chan!" Everyone cheered. "We made your favorite food! Happy Birthday!" Kikyo smiled. We sat down and ate (Favorite food). "Y/N... it's unfair." Killua whispered once we get inside the room. "I know," I said. "NO! Y-You, don't know. I bet they don't even know when my birthday is." Killua sounded like he was about to cry. Assassins don't cry...but this once is okay.

I hug him and he immediately hugs me back. "It's okay...I know part of the family at least remembers your birthday. Like Kalluto, Alluka and Illumi definitely remember your birthday." I told him.  I find something in the corner of my eye. It was a wrapped gift. I pick it up and I read.

I open the box and it was jewelry. Like actually nice jewelry. There were diamond necklaces, rings, bracelets, brooches everything you can think of. I smile and I give Killua a small golden chain. "There you go." I look at it I found a letter at the bottom. It had 10 million and a card.

Hello Y/N. I hope you had a great birthday this year. You are growing so much I am very proud of you. You are like my little sister so I will always protect you. Unless we are fighting course. Also can you try to training more? Illumi is trying to make me file my nails again! :<

I close the card and put the box up neatly. "Can we go to bed?" Killua asked. "But I am not tired!" I whined. "you sure you aren't tired?" He asked. "Yeah...why?" I sat on the bed. "Because you have been running through my mind all day." He smirked. I blush and I smile. "Ok, you got me there Kil." I laughed.

"Y/N! Wake up!" Gon shakes me awake. "Nani?" I groaned while rubbing my eyes. Gon hugs me and I got confused. "You passed out. That isn't in any of the categories so, you are a Specialist. Okay. Now the four of you know exactly what kind of aura you're working with. For the next four weeks, I want you four to train until you can make a more pronounced change in the water."

"Osu!"

~Time skip 4 weeks~

"I think I did pretty good," I smirked and I got dressed. I wore a pink top with ripped jeans.

(So the hair color and clothes look the same but everything else you can change for your OC)

"Okay. Time to see what you've accomplished with your training. Killua, you're up first." Wing instructed. "All right!" He puts his hands by the cups and used Ren. He stayed like that for a while and then I tasted the water. "It tastes so good!" I smiled. Everyone else tries it and got amazed. "You're right! It tastes like honey!" Gon commented. "That's my Killua for Ya!" I cheered. "Baka! You're embarrassing me!" He blushed softly.

"Excellent. And Zushi?"

I was expecting some cool but when Zushi started using Ren the leaf just barely moved. "That's the best I can do!" Zushi sighed. "It's okay. You will get the hang of it soon!" I smiled. Zushi blushed and looked away. "That was amazing but it isn't going to be enough to pass. I'm afraid you'll need to train a bit more." Wing confessed.

"Aww too bad!" I whined. I wanted Zushi to pass. "Next...Gon!"

Gon uses Ren and the glass immediately breaks and starts to overflow. Using my instincts I went to Gon and pushed him away from the cup. "Baka!" I yelled as I get a paper towel. I successfully clean the table and I glared at Gon. "I was feeling pretty good about this." Gon told us. "Gomen Wing!" I chuckled.

I put my hands by the cup (I put extra towels on the table) I closed my eyes and released my Ren (maybe a little bit of my bloodlust too). "Baka! Stop!" Killua tackles me making us fly to the back of the wall. (Like boy this isn't football 😭)

I open my eyes to see the whole placed SOAKED. There was a layer of water covering the floor but the water was boiling. There was a face painted with water but it was...floating above the water? "What the hell happened?" I asked. "The water began to boil then it basically exploded!" He explained.

"Really?" I blushed. He didn't realize that he pinned me on the wall while tackling me. "Can I get up now? I asked with a blush creeping onto my face. "Y-Yeah no problem." He gets up and I swear I saw Gon smile and even wink at Killua. I brushed it off though. "All right Y/N, Gon and Killua. Today you are both graduating."

"Really?" Killua and I gasped. "We did it!" Gon shouted. "That's awesome!" Killua cheered. We fisted bumped and I wanted to laugh. "Master...Do I graduate, too?" Zushi asked. "You still need to train a little bit longer." Wing advised. "Osu..."

"You got this Zushi-San. Just keep at it." I recommended. "O-Osu!"

"Gon and Y/N I've one more thing for you two. Something important I still need to say." He asserted. "What is it, Mr. Wing?" Gon asked. "The other Hunter Exam...you have passed it...Y/N and Gon Freecss. Congratulations." Wing announced. "We did it Gon!" I smiled as we high fives each other. "Wait. The other Hunter Exam?" Gon questioned.

"That's correct. You were able to pass with flying colors." Wing explained. "What do you mean, sir?" Gon asked. "One cannot be a full-fledged Hunter without learning how to use nen. Such skill and power are requirements of a terribly dangerous profession. One of your duties as a Hunter will be attempting to apprehend evil players and other such criminals. You must be strong enough to fight crime if you are to be a true deterrent. But this power us highly destructive was abused. Revealing the true existence of been during the Exam would be quite risky. Therefore, only those who have already passed the Main Exam are tested."

"Oh, I get it," Killua commented. "You would've tested us, Gon and Y/N at least, no matter what happened, wouldn't you?" Killua asked. "Yes. I should also have mentioned that the Grand Master of Shingen-Ryu happens to be Chairman Netero." Wing told us. Killua and I grumbled in frustration. Gon looked dumbfounded.

"The master has told me so much about you," Wing added. "That goofy old man?" Killua and I said in unison. "Killua," Wing called. "What?" Killua asked. "I want you to go back and take the Hunter Exam again. You'll definitely pass next time." Wing ordered. "He's right!" I smiled. "At this point, you are more than qualified enough. That I can guarantee." Wing added.

"Well... if I feel up to it." Killua turns his head. "Hey, Mr. Wing? Have you heard anything about any of the other people who passed?" Gon asked. "I have." Wing answers. "Really? Like who?" I raised a question. "Hanzo and Kurapika have learned nen from other teachers. Pokkle, on the other hand, is struggling with Ren. Leorio has begun studying for the medical school exam." Wing informed. "Really? I hope Leorio can pass." I commented. "Me too," Gon added.

Wing resumed. "Hisoka and Illumi were already well-versed in the use of nen, so they were qualified, of course." I smiled. "Great! I am glad Kurapika is doing good too." I replied. "Yeah, they are really working hard!" Gon added. "Yeah," Killua commented. "That's not all, Gon. I have one bit of advice." Wing announced. "When you fight Hisoka tomorrow,  don't push yourself too hard. All right?" Wing indicated. "Right!" Gon smiled.

~Time skip~

"Y/N...Y/N!" Gon yelled while shaking me awake. "Can you get into a bathing suit? Me and Killua want to go to the beach!" Gon cheered. "At 7:33 in the morning?" I questioned. "Yeah! Hurry up because we are ready!" Gon shouts running out of the room. "Why? It's not even 8 yet." I grumbled. I change into a light green one-piece with a white flower design. I also had Killua's hoodie to cover it up. I also brought my favorite sunglasses

"Alright, let's go," I muttered leaving my room. Gon let out a small gasp and smiled. "You look amazing!" He shouted. "Shh, people are sleeping, Baka!" Killua said. "But I agree...you do look cute." He said blushing. "Thanks." I couldn't help but smile as a blush appears on my face. "Let's go!" Gon nudged us to the entrance. "I still can't believe you guys haven't been to the beach before.

"Gon why would you bring all of this?" Killua complained. "Relax, Killua! It's for after training." Gon assures him. "Alright." Killua huffed as we got the tent up. "Perfect!" I clap at the cover with 3 seats lined up. We also brought fruit and water. "I can't wait to relax!" I announced. Gon blew up a pool float that was orange and white. "Killua, where did you get that?" I asked him. "What? The gum?" He questioned.

"Yeah, I swear it was-"

"In your bag? Yeah, it was on the coffee table." He said throwing me a pack. "You could've asked." I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, it's only 8:00 why are there so many people?" I consulted. "Beats me." Gon commented.

I was sitting on the middle chair while the boys did their workouts. "1020!" Gon shouted as he collapsed. "Are you ok?" Killua asked. "Yeah...just tired." Gon gets up and sits next to me. It was really hot outside so they didn't have their shirts on. I didn't have my hoodie on either. "Really? You just started." I said while Gon quickly got up again.

"Let's go in the water!" Gon takes the float and a water gun. "Right now?" I asked tiredly. "Of course! He sets his arm around Killua's neck. "No. I am too tired." I relax more on the chair. "Huh? Why not?" Killua asked while making a bubble with his gum.

"Can we go into the water? Please?" Gon begged. "Fine!" I get up and Gon gets excited. "M'Lady, I am sorry in advance," Killua whispered. "What? What are you going to do to?" I asked. He sweeps me off my feet and runs into the water. I get like a blushing mess. "Put me down! It's so cold!" I shiver as the wind follows the crashing waves.

I see Gon in the corner of my eye smiling with something in his hands. "Killua! Put my sister down!" He pointed the water gun at Killua."Or what?" Killua asked jokingly. "I will either spray you with the gun or I will tell Y/N about-" Gon didn't even need to finish because Killua quickly put me down. "Baka! I will get you!" Killua started to chase Gon but Gon kept shooting Killua with the water gun.

"You guys are a mess." I smiled before (almost) getting trampled by a wave. "Are you ok?!" Gon rushed over to me. "Yeah, I didn't know how big waves can be." I smiled. I couldn't see because the water was in my eyes. "M'Lady, do you need help?" I hear Killua say.

"No. I am fine." I tried to get up and another wave hits me. I tripped and one of the boys picked me up. "I was fine!" I yelled. "No, you can't see. You are setting yourself up for failure." Killua told me while giving me a towel. "Thanks." I gently rub my eyes. "Stop thanking me, Baka." Killua looks to the side. I chuckled.

~Time skip~

We were sitting down on my bed after a long morning of going to the beach. "It's 9:25, you should probably get ready. Me and Killua will get some tickets." I advised. "Alright!" Gon leaves my room and Killua goes inside my bathroom. "Well. I guess I have to get dressed." I mumbled as I look inside my bag. I found a (Favorite color) baggy shirt and (F/C) sweatpants. It's not like I was going on a date or something. Killua was wearing his usual outfit. We soon left.

We sit down and the announcer started to babble.

"Hello everyone! In the arena today we have a match between Gon and Hisoka! The battle you've all been waiting for is about to begin. And as you can see, the stands are packed! The fight hasn't even started and the tension in the air is palpable!"

I hear people yell things like, "How much longer?" and "come on let's go!"

"The first to arrive is Gon! After four fights, he has a three-one record. He's really on a roll! And next, arriving in the arena with a fiery display...is Hisoka! The memories of his lethal battle with Kastro are still fresh in everyone's minds! A nine-three record means a win today earns him the right to challenge a Floor Master!  He won every single match he's actually showed up for. Will his undefeated streak continue?"

I look at the match closely. I heard cheering all around the arena. Hisoka and Gon release their nen as the bridges collapsed. "You win by points or knock out. No time limit! One round! Begin!" The referee shouted as he backed away.

"This is the match you've been waiting for, folks! The die has been cast! Who will make the first move?"

Gon dashes towards Hisoka.

"It's Gon!"

Gon tried to hit Hisoka but he dodges and hits Gon towards the basis. Gon then tries to punch Hisoka several times but Hisoka avoids them carelessly. I couldn't see what else happened. Gon runs around Hisoka and then tried to jump kick him. Hisoka punches Gon's stomach making Gon fall.

Everyone started to cheer and I got a little ticked off.

They start to exchange blows but after a few seconds Gon's back on the floor. They repeat this about 2 or 3 times and I was getting a bit bored. 'Gon hasn't landed a hit this whole time' I thought as Killua handed me some chocolate robots. "Thank you!" I whispered-yelled. "No problem." Killua replied as I went back to the game.

"A clean hit! Hisoka: One-point!" The referee pointed towards the ceiling. The audience started to scream and I quickly covered my ears. 'These people are so extra.' I held my head with my free hand.

"That...was an amazing exchange! So amazing that I could barely get a word in edgewise!"

"What's the matter?" Hisoka asked the boy in front of him. "I haven't moved a single step from where I started." He notifies Gon. "What? Really?" Gon grunts in frustration. "Dammit! Well, just you wait!" Gon shouts. 'This looks bad. Hisoka has the worst ego.' I sighed quietly. Gon runs over to Hisoka and jumps everywhere close to Hisoka. He then sprints to the side and picks up a tile. He kicks it and disappears.

"There it is! Gon's stone flip!"

Hisoka hits any rubble that came his way, letting his guard down. About 20 seconds later I see Gon hit Hisoka across the face. I get up and I cheer with all the energy I had. "YES, GON! GOOD JOB!" I sat back down with a few stares and whispers. I saw in the corner of my eye Killua smiling.
