Epilogue
More reasons to stay
"Mom your baby is crying" I heard.
I was in the bathroom and was trying to hurry up. Moments later, I had come out with my robe on. The new baby was in Mason's arm and he was hushing trying to get him calm.
"Lemme have him" I said walking over to where they all stood.
Ellie and Jason stood there, beside their father staring at the baby with so much happiness. He was just a month old and we were gonna have our family photoshoot today including the baby's.
"Thought he woke up thrice to be fed this midnight?" Mason asked dropping the baby in my arms.
I only laughed at his statement.
"Are you guys all ready?" I questioned.
"I couldn't get my shoelace well..." Jason replied as I stared at Mason with a questioning look.
I was sure Jason would have told him about it. He gave series of groans as he bent down to help him with his shoe lace.
"Is that all?" I asked.
"I checked for my tie for our second outfit and I couldn't find it" Jason replied.
I paused for a while thinking and then I remembered it had a little stain on it and I had to get it washed off.
"Ellie be a darling and help check the dryer in the laundry room, would you?" I asked.
She instantly turned around holding her brothers' hand dragging him with her as they walked towards the door.
"Ellie you don't have any problem, do you?" I asked her.
"No mom" she yelled reaching for the door.
"You should see the baby dressed up in his cute little suit, so precious" I nearly screeched out as Mason gave a smile facing me.
"This whole thing really suits you well" he told me retaining that smile.
"And I'm happy for us" he told me again.
"Don't get emotional on me, please" I told him smiling.
I took a sit with the baby in my hand in front of the dressing table as I breastfed him.
"And why are you not dressed?" I quietly questioned.
He just gave a smile as he walked away. I looked at the baby in my hand with a big smile.
He looked exactly like his father, the both boys did. Had that his look and smile. Ellie had ended up with features of both parents somehow.
I was happy with this family I had gotten myself, more than pleased in fact and I could say that's all I ever wanted.
