Chapter four
More reasons to stay
It's been how long now since the baby???
Exactly six years and I had two kids now for Mason.
Ellie, and two years later came a boy, Jason.
We weren't married, I know and yet I had somehow devoted six years of my life to him. You may call me stupid but he did the same too.
People really didn't know, the fact that we were not married, just close friends though, and family.
At the kids school, they practically take us as couples and I'm cool with that.
Whenever he introduces me to people, he does as the mother of his kids and nothing more.

"The kids, they've been complaining, you haven't had enough time to spend with them..." I pointed out to Mason.
"I've been busy, you know I love spending time with my kids" he said smiling as he moved closer to where I sat on the bed.
He had just gotten dressed from his midnight bath and now, we were about going to bed.
"But you'll go to the party next tomorrow" I told him folding my hands.
He looked at me with a frozen smile. He knew what was wrong.
"That's why I invite you as always. It's Ned's party and I can't afford to miss it"
I looked at him, in anger.
But one thing I know for sure is that he enjoyed spending all the time he could with me.
Or perhaps he just appreciates my body. Even after too kids, I still remain the same, unchanged and even more prettier.
"It's Ned's girlfriend birthday party and it definitely would turn out to be an engagement party" I had told him.
"You know, I'm tired of being invited to everyone's engagement party. When's it gonna be ours?" I inquired.
"After two kids, what more proof do you need, to know I love you. You know, I love you more than Ned's ever gonna love his girlfriend"
I paused and stared at him. He loves me, really, he does and I can't deny that fact at all.
But I was lost, in my thought. I was already put in the family way. He had all he wanted, those two gorgeous kids. Me too.
There was nothing wrong in him making us official.
"Hey, look at me" he called forcing my attention.
I did, staring his way and he was already very close to me.
"I love you okay" he called as he instantly pressed his lip against mine leaving no room for reply.
Few seconds later, I was responding to his kiss, that's one of the thing that attracted me to Mason. He had always been a good lover, he cared, even probably too much.
Remembering one thing, I instantly broke the kiss
"Take your time with the kids after work tomorrow. Don't get back late so you'll get to see them before they fall asleep" I told him.
"I've got a very important meeting tomorrow by nine. Mr. Cliff, he's going to be our biggest client and he wants the meeting scheduled to his comfort. 9 o'clock at his penthouse. He'll make us have dinner before we commence, trust me, I'll make it home nothing later than eleven"
"Do you have to be at work early tomorrow?" I asked.
"No, don't worry, I'll help drop them at school" he told me.
I gave a smile of appreciation as I dropped on the bed back facing him.
I wanted a life with him, no doubt. If he walks away now, even after two kids, I wouldn't blame him. But I couldn't force it, couldn't force him. That sadness, it occurs every time I remember I'm just the mother of his kids and nothing more.
"Good night" I murmured.
