Chapter 2
All I ever wanted
"Well it seems like we're gonna have to deal with this bravely." I smiled trying to keep myself less upset about the situation. That was the first time in months I've been little, even if it was for a few minutes it felt nice. I just wished I could have that again. I jumped a bit startled as I heard a knock on my front door. I got up from the couch and sighed wishing I didn't have to do this.

Lyla's POV
I knocked on the door of Brandy's house. The teacher wanted me to help Brandy help herself by tutoring her and I was all for it. Seeing that she truly struggles and has a hard time taking care of herself I was sure she was having a hard time in school. I was brought out of my thoughts when the door opened and her tiny figure stood peeking from behind it.
"Lyla right? Look sis, I know Professor Shannon wants you to tutor me. But I don't want you to tutor me. You get that?"
She said looking at me with an annoyed stare. I wish she was mine she would not be talking to me this way if she were mine.
"Hello? Are you deaf or what, you can leave now." Brandy said going to close the door.
I stopped her before she fully closed it, lodging my foot in the doorway.
"I'm here to tutor you, I really am not asking. It was a direction from my teacher to tutor you, so if you don't mind I really would like to stop this interaction and step inside so that I can tutor you." I said starting to lose my patience.
She looked at me, her cheeks started turning a light pink. She opened the door and I walked inside.
"Where shall we start?" I asked not sure where she wanted to study.
She instructed me to sit on the couch while she went to grab her things. After what seemed like twenty minutes she still hadn't come out. I was starting to get frustrated seeing I needed to leave soon. I got up sighing and looked around the house to find her bedroom.
I heard humming coming from behind the first door I found. I knocked on it and got no response. It was cracked so I peeked in, seeing her on the bed on her phone with her earbuds in. I was starting to lose my patience with the girl. I opened the door and walked inside.
"Look Brandy I-" I started and stopped when I saw a pink pacifier on her nightstand. I wasn't sure it was hers, but it was also an adult pacifier. It had to be hers. I felt a bit of hope in my heart at the thought of her in my arms suckling happily on it. I quickly looked away and pretended to not see anything.
I tapped her lightly on the thigh and spoke,
"Brandy I have to leave soon and I really need you to come in the living room so we can start."
A grumpy Brandy pulled her earbud out and sighed loudly.
"I don't need this! If I wanted you here I'm sure I would've asked." She said glaring at me. That was the last straw. Her attitude and choice of words started making me want to punish her, seeing the pacifier convinced me she was a little. And it set me over the edge bringing out my mommy side.
"Little girl I want you in that living room in the next two minutes or I can assure you the next thing that happens you won't like. If you want to act like a child I will gladly treat you like one." I said leaving the room to go and take my place on the couch.
Brandy's POV
Lyla left the room leaving me with my mouth wide open shocked. I felt my face burn hot knowing I was embarrassed and now blushing. It happened so fast it took a second to collect my thoughts and move. I got up trying to comprehend what she just said, because that tone, those words. That's not how a normal person would talk. Was she a caregiver? I look around my room frantically seeing I left my pacifier out on my nightstand.
Fuck fuck fuck! I thought. She had seen it. I know she had seen it. Her body language seemed more firm and stern rather than her body language when she had first arrived which was bubbly and calm. The room started spinning and I started panicking.
"Shit! What if she's not. What if she's not and she saw it. What if she tells the whole school?!" I said struggling to breathe. I couldn't have the whole school knowing about this. Especially since I haven't regressed fully in a while. I quickly sat on my bed, trying to collect myself and calm down not wanting to find out what she would do if I didn't show up soon.
If she was going to tell the whole school, well I'll know what to do then. I sniffled and got up wiping the tears that tried coming down my cheeks and stepped out the room hurrying to get to her.
I slowly came into the living room and sat on the couch next to her with my textbook and notebook sitting in my lap. She smiled making me feel a little funny. Not in a bad way. But it made me feel..nice.
"Thank you love. Now we need to get started, we have a good 45 minutes before I have to leave." She said opening her textbook and notebook.
*Time skip 45 minutes*
Lyla looked at her watch and closed her books.
"Well I have to leave now, we can do this tomorrow if you'd like?" She said standing up.
I know I had a problem with it at first but, I kind of liked her company. I wanted to cry and cling to her, but I knew I couldn't. I can't let anyone see that side of me again. It's safer for me that way. I bit my lip hard to stop the whimper trying to escape from my lips as I walked her to the door.
"Um tomorrow's good I guess." I said not meeting her eyes. She smiled and left after explaining she'd be here tomorrow at the same time. I knew I couldn't let her come back. I just wasn't going to go to school tomorrow. Yep that was an easy solution. I sighed going to my room. I heard my phone ringing and I checked it seeing grace was calling.
Lyla's POV
I opened the front door and threw my bag aside. Tutoring was rough at first but then it slowly got better. Brandy was a tough girl, but nevertheless we got things done and we'll be doing the same thing tomorrow, hopefully without all the arguing. I was so hopeful. I really hoped she'd want to be my little girl. But I knew I shouldn't overthink about it and get too excited.
*********
The next morning at school, I didn't see Brandy. I only assumed she was going to be late again, like she has been everyday. As the teacher started her lecture, I watched the clock as it started getting later and later. I decided that Brandy wasn't coming to school and I texted her.
Me: Hey morning, why aren't you in class if you don't mind me asking?
Brandy: Why do you care? I'm not you're responsibility. I'm not a child. I don't need you telling me to get my ass up and get ready for school. If I wanted to be there I would be there. Now please stop texting me. I'll see you after school for tutoring.
She's so damn stubborn, I thought sighing.
Me: Brandy, you need to come to class. I understand we're not really friends and you don't really know me, but it is my job to tutor you and make sure you pass this class.
Brandy: Girl I don't care ðâð½ I just really want to sleep. PLEASE leave me alone.
Me: I understand you wanna sleep. But you're going to get up and get dressed and get on your way to school. I will not repeat myself.
Brandy: Goodnight.
I chuckled. She was being stubborn and difficult and I chuckled. It wasn't because I found it funny, it was because if she was my little girl she would've been across my knee already. I knew she wasn't going to listen. So I'd have to insert myself somewhere I'm not wanted. I usually wouldn't do this, but seeing as I did really care about the girl and I could see she wanted me there she was just afraid of something, I knew I had to help. I don't understand why she chose to go to college if she wasn't going to be here.
After my first class was over I grabbed my things and got into my car, heading over to brandy's house. Before I could drive off I was stopped by a girl.
"Excuse me hi, you probably don't know me but we have psychology together. My name's Grace?" She said holding her hand out for me to shake.
Not wanting to be rude I shook her hand through the window.
"Hi, can I help you? I'm kind of in a rush to get somewhere." I said not wanting to keep wasting time.
"I'm so sorry I won't keep you long, you're my best friends tutor. Um you know Brandy? Yes that's her, I just wanted to um check on her and check on how she's doing?" The girl asked slightly bitting her lip nervously.
Judging by her demeanor she was forcing herself to speak to me.
"Well, we had a rough start but she's doing alright." I smiled
"Oh! That's great! I got worried for a second um alright, thank you!" She said turning away and running off.
I furrowed my eyebrows confused about the entire conversation and why she came up to me, but I started my car and drove over to brandy's house.
********
When I arrived to Brandy's house, I got out and knocked on the door. I was very disappointed in the fact she didn't follow my instructions but then again I can't expect her to listen when I'm a year older than her. I'm sure she didn't know I'm a caregiver and I didn't expect her to listen to me treating her as if she's a child. I knocked on the door again and then turned the handle seeing it was unlocked.
Brandy's POV
My sleep was interrupted by a loud knock on my room door.
"Brandy, honey."
I sighed loudly and pulled the blankets over my head. Why didn't she know how to leave me alone. I mean I really don't mind her caring for me like this, but no one messes with my sleep.
I felt a strong grip pull the blankets off of me and that same hand carefully pulled me up so that I was sitting.
"Now young lady I'm pretty sure I texted you and told you I wasn't repeating myself did I not?"
Now seeing the disappointment on Lyla's face I felt ashamed. I looked down and nodded, not wanting to meet her eyes.
"And why haven't you gotten up? You're still in bed! And you went back to sleep. What's up with that hm?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Feeling a bit small I tried defending my actions.
"Um, well, I was gonna get up! Mhm! But then um I had a headache and I forgot you said to come to class." I still didn't meet her eyes.
She lifted my chin up making sure I was looking her in the eyes and she kept her eyebrow raised.
"Wanna try that again little one?" She said unamused.
Little one..? I haven't heard that in while, to where it made me feel...I don't know it's dumb. I knew I was slipping and I knew I had to push it away. I got out of the bed and stomped to the bathroom slamming to door behind me.
"You can leave, I literally don't need you here!" I groaned loudly. Turning on the water to brush my teeth I heard her knock on the door. Of course I ignored her. She was making me feel safe, comfortable, wanted and she was sweet and kind. I couldn't have that again, I would only end up getting hurt and I wasn't even sure if she was a caregiver. I could be wrong. I could be assuming but I sure as hell wasn't gonna ask her or have that conversation.
I rinsed my mouth out and started washing my face. I heard her knock again saying something I couldn't understand. I rolled my eyes wishing I didn't feel these things.
"You didn't have to be rude young lady, I understand you don't want me to nag you about school but this is important. If you really truly don't want to be in college why did you go." She said being more stern than soft.
No one knew this, not even Grace. I didn't have a choice. My mom died when I was five and my dad made sure that I would live to keep the family's business in tact. I had to have degrees, and proof of high education. If I didn't go to college he would've said I was a disgrace, he would've disowned me and I would've been left with nothing. Me going to college is what's paying my rent and bills. He sends me money every month. Not just hundreds of dollars but thousands. 59 thousand to be exact. Every month he sends 59 thousand dollars with the same exact note, 'remember where you came from and what you have to do.' That's what I have to deal with and that's why I stayed enrolled. I didn't have a choice. I'd be on the streets.
Lost in my thoughts another knock on the door brought me back to reality. I wiped the tears that rolled down my cheeks and I cleaned myself up opening the door after I had finished. Lyla pulled me into a tight hug and I stood there confused. I hugged her back not wanting to fight it anymore. I had gotten tired of fighting and I just couldn't anymore.
"I'm sorry for being an asshole. You don't deserve that. I just, I don't know. I'm really sorry." I said looking up at her then looking down disappointed in myself.
She assured me it was okay and she sat on my bed next to me. She had explained that she had seen my pacifier and before I could panic she let me know that I shouldn't be ashamed and that it was okay, she told me she was a caregiver and she noticed I was fighting her because of experiences I might not have wanted to share. Regardless of all of this, she was right. I wanted to push her away because I couldn't stand losing someone else.
"Now I'm not saying you have to be my little, because of course we barely know each other, but if you'd like to someday get that far I'd like that." She said smiling.
I blushed and nodded, "mm yes p'ease." I squeaked realizing my slip up and I swallowed the urge to be little. She pulled me into her lap and hugged me tightly.
"Today, I'll allow it. But you will be going to your classes tomorrow missy."
I groaned clinging to the woman, I really did like not fighting her, it was..nice and I liked that she wanted me, actually wanted me and wanted to get to know me. But I really hope she doesn't leave me.
