Chapter 10

"So do you accept my offer?" Y/N is back at apartment 27. The couple thought all night about wether or not to accept the offer.

"Yes, but only if you can relocate us right away."

"Of course, it's all ready. You can leave today. My driver will bring you there and take care of you." Y/N smiled. She knew she was going to be able to convince them.

"I just need you to sign this. It states that you're moving out and that the property belongs to ImTech now." Y/N handed them a paper. The man looked at his wife and the woman nodded making him sign the paper.

"Here you go." The couple signed it and gave it back to Y/N.

"Great, thank you. My driver will come around 3. So be ready. Here's my card, if you need me please call me." Y/N informed and left the place.

"There's no way you'll win Im Seokjin." She said to herself when she got back in her car. After that she went to ImTech to let Nayeon know that it's all done.

"Oh, Ms. Chou? The investor meeting is tomorrow." Momo said when she saw Y/N. She thought that Y/N came by mistake.

"I know, Momo-ssi. I'm just here to see Im Nayeon. Is she here?"

"Oh yes, she's in her office. You can enter." Momo said and Y/N went to Nayeon's office.

"Oh Y/N-ssi. Sit please." Nayeon gestured to the seat in front of her.

"Did you talk to that family?" Nayeon is very worried. The investors meeting is tomorrow and she'll be screwed if one of the apartments is not emptied.

"I sure did. Here you go." Y/N handed her the signed paper.

"They agreed?" Nayeon widened her eyes. "But how? I offered them multiple things but they didn't give in."

"It wasn't that difficult." Y/N admitted.

"You're amazing, Y/N-ssi. Thank you so much." Nayeon smiled. Y/N is impressing her a lot.

"I told you that I would handle it. There are going to be many obstacles and you'll need help to overcome then."

"I know, I know. I really appreciate all your help." Nayeon smiled.

"Is that what I think it is?" Y/N pointed at something. It's a cup of instant ramen.

"N-n-no." Nayeon widened her eyes, how could she leave it there.

"Wah, it really is ramen." Y/N stood up and went closer.

"I knew you were going to like it. Do you have more?" The CEO questioned but Nayeon didn't answer.

"So you do have more, huh." Y/N chuckled.

"Please stop teasing me." Nayeon is embarrassed.

"Let's eat, I'm hungry. I'll take this one, I'm sure you have a stock somewhere here." And Y/N was right about that. Nayeon had around 10 other cups, so she took one from them.

"There's hot water." Nayeon pointed to the other side of her office and Y/N picked up both cups and put water in it.

"Please don't tell anyone I have these in my office. It'll ruin my reputation."

"No worries. Your secret is safe with me." Y/N winked. Nayeon doesn't know why but that wink made her blush.

"You know the investor meeting is tomorrow, right?" Nayeon asked as she slurped her noodles.

"Yes. You seem nervous about it."

"I am. This is a big thing for me. It's my future. You're actually lucky, Y/N-ssi."

"Why's that?"

"You didn't have to fight to become a CEO, you just became one."

"I'm not that lucky actually. I have a family and a big company to take care of all by myself. It isn't as easy as it looks." Y/N sighed.

"Can I ask you a personal question? If you don't mind." Nayeon questioned.

"Go ahead."

"Why do you have to take care of your family? Is it because of your dad's burnout?" Nayeon hesitated wether or not to ask the question but she still did anyways.

"Yes. He was the one taking care of us but after he got a burn out someone else had to step in."

"It's very impressive that you manage to run such a big company at a young age." Nayeon smiled weakly.

"Thank you, Nayeon-ssi. You're actually also quite impressive."

"Why's that?"

"I know it's not easy being the daughter of a big CEO especially if that CEO is Mr. Im. I know he has a difficult personality and that he's giving you a hard time. So just hang in there." Y/N advised. Nayeon never knew why Y/N was so popular but now she's starting to understand. Y/N is just unique in her own way and Nayeon is liking that. Her heart is starting to do weird things around her and Nayeon doesn't know why.

"Do you think I have a chance of becoming the next CEO? Do you think I'm capable of doing that?" Nayeon thinks Y/N's opinion is very important.

"I think anything is possible. As long as you keep working hard and as long as you don't give up then yeah I think you can become one."

"But Jin is capable of much more than I am." Nayeon sighed.

"You look so confident from the outside but you're not confident at all Nayeon-ssi." Nayeon is actually quite embarrassed that Y/N is seeing a side of hers that no one else has.

"Just work hard. Educate yourself and do the best you can." Y/N added. Nayeon doesn't know but Y/N will make sure that Nayeon becomes the next CEO.

"Anyways, I should go now. I'll see you tomorrow at the investor meeting, Nayeon-ssi. Thanks for the ramen by the way." Y/N giggled and Nayeon suddenly felt something in her chest. Why was that so cute?

"No problem. See you tomorrow, Y/N-ssi." And with that Y/N left Nayeon's office.

"What do you mean that family moved out?? Where did they go to??" Jin is furious. He just found out that the family he paid not to move out, actually did move out.

"I'm not sure. We can't find them anywhere, it's like they disappeared." His assistant answered.

"Aish, i'm sure this is that bitch Y/N's doing. She's going to give me a hard time." Jin hit his table with his fist.

"But she's going to be surprised at the investor meeting tomorrow. I have some information that my dad and the investors won't like. Just wait Y/N-ssi." He smirked.

The next day

"Are all the investors inside already?" Nayeon asked Momo.

"Yes, the investors, your father, brother and some of the directors are inside as well."

"Okay, let's do this." Nayeon sighed before she walked into the meeting room. All eyes were on her and she's getting nervous. She looked at Y/N and Y/N just smiled weakly at her, which calmed her down a bit.

"Thank you all for coming to this meeting." Nayeon sat down. "As you probably have seen, it's all going well already and profit is assured."

"Before you start, I want to say something." Jin interrupted.

"Let your sister speak." His father demanded.

"This can't wait. We all thought that Nayeon did this project herself right? Well, we were wrong. Apparently she got some big help."

"What are you talking about, Jin?" Mr. Im questioned.

"Chou Y/N is the one that changed the entire project. She's the cause of all the profits until now, not Nayeon." He smirked and everyone started talking upon themselves at the sudden revelation.

Nayeon stood there dumbfounded, she didn't know what to do nor what to say. Y/N on the other hand she just sighed, she knew this was going to get revealed one day but there's no way that Jin will get what he wants.

"Is that true, Y/N-ssi?" Mr. Im asked.

"No, Nayeon-ssi adjusted the project herself. I didn't help her." Y/N denied.

"That's not true. We all know Chou Y/N didn't want to invest in this project, but she suddenly changed her mind. Why's that? Because she made a deal with Nayeon and she helped her change the project." Jin explained. He knows more than Y/N thought he would.

"It's true that I asked her to adjust the project. I also did say that I would only invest if the project gets adjusted. I did give Im Nayeon some advice on what to do, but she's the one that changed it. Not me."

"Then why were you two together before the deadline? Witnesses have seen you two go to each other's offices." Jin won't give up until he makes them admit it.

"We did visit each other, yes. Nayeon-ssi wanted to make sure that her project was good so she just asked my opinion about it, and by seeing how much she improved it, I decided to invest." Y/N explained.

"Nayeon-ah, what do you say about this?" Her father asked.

"Y/N-ssi, already explained everything."

"So you didn't get any help from her?" Jin asked and Nayeon looked at Y/N because she doesn't know what to answer. Y/N raised her eyebrows, giving her a sign to say that she didn't get any help.

"No, she only gave me some advice and instructions. I adjusted the project myself."

"Well, if both of them are saying that, there's no need to look into this any further." Mr. Im shook his head.

"Are you serious? They're obviously lying. There's no way Nayeon could have done this so well by herself. And that in only a few days!" Jin raised his voice.

"It seems like you are hurt by the fact that your sister is doing well, Jin-ssi." Y/N noticed and everyone is the room nodded, agreeing to Y/N's statement.

"Can we please continue? I'm sorry for my son's behaviour. He should have looked into this better before he decided to bring it up." Mr. Im said. He's definitely going to scold Jin later on.

The investor meeting just continued and luckily it went well. After the meeting Y/N went to Nayeon's office. They need to know how Jin found out.

"I told you not to tell anyone about this." Y/N said.

"I didn't tell anyone!" Nayeon defended.

"You surely did. There's no other way that he could have found out."

"The only people that know are Momo and Jeongyeon. And they both wouldn't tell anyone."

"Jeongyeon? That one manager?" Y/N raised her eyebrows and Nayeon nodded.

"I told you not to trust anyone."

"She didn't do it, Y/N-ssi. She's my friend." Nayeon shook her head.

"There are no friends in this industry. Anyone can stab you in the back, even your friend."

"It makes sense now." Y/N added.

"What makes sense?"

"I saw that manager talking to Jin the other day when I came here. They were obviously talking about something in private, because they immediately stopped when they saw me." Y/N remembered.

"But..." Nayeon doesn't want to believe it. Would Jeongyeon really betray her?

"Look, if you want to succeed you can't trust anyone, Nayeon-ssi." Y/N approached her.

"So you're saying I'm alone in all of this?"

"Yes. It won't be just Jin that's going to make it hard for you. A lot of people will and maybe even your close friends, like Jeongyeon." Y/N warned her but Nayeon suddenly collapsed on the chair.

"Are you okay, Nayeon-ssi?" Y/N grabbed her arms and Nayeon just nodded as she held her head.

"I was screwed if it wasn't for you. I'm dead if my dad finds out that I wasn't the one that adjusted the project." Nayeon worried.

"Look at me." Y/N kneeled down so that she could look directly at Nayeon's face.

"We adjusted it together. It wasn't just you or me, we did it together so stop acting like I'm the one that did it."

"But you did... You came with al the ideas and adjustments. I didn't do anything, I just stood there."

"That's not true. You build this entire project remember? You came up with all the big ideas, I just changed what needed to be changed which is nothing compared to what you did." Y/N held Nayeon's hands. She doesn't know why she did that, but Nayeon seems vulnerable right now and she wants to comfort her.

"Y-yes, that's true." Nayeon gave in.

"So don't you ever tell anyone else about this. If someone asks, you just have to say the same thing as we did at the meeting, okay?" Y/N raised her eyebrows and Nayeon nodded.

"What do I need to do with Jeongyeon? Should I confront her?" Nayeon asked. Y/N is now noticing that Nayeon just has a too good heart. She'll get crushed easily, if she doesn't step up her game.

"No. Don't say anything to her. In fact act like nothing has happened. We need to make sure if she's really working for Jin. We might need it later on." Y/N suggested and Nayeon agreed. Y/N knows way better what she's doing than Nayeon and even though Nayeon doesn't trust Y/N, she has no other choice.

"Bring Jin to my office." Mr. Im demanded his helpers.

"Yah, let me go! I can walk myself!" Jin yelled though the hallways as the helpers brought him to his dad's office.

"You can leave." The CEO told his helpers.

"D-dad, I..." Jin couldn't say anything further because he got slapped in the face.

"How dare you interrupt the meeting like that, huh?" He punched him this time.

"You humiliated me in front of all those investors." He grabbed Jin by his collar.

"I-I'm sorry." Jin's nose started to bleed and his father pushed him harshly making him fall on the floor.

"Stand up." The CEO demanded and Jin of course obeyed because he's scared.

"Do one more thing like that and you'll be dead. Do you understand me?" He asked in a scary tone.

"But dad, what I said is true. I'm 100% sure that Y/N is the one behind that project."

"Does that even matter? Even if she did, she's giving all the credits to Nayeon. As long as she doesn't confirm, we can't do anything!" He pushed his son once again.

"Now leave, I don't want to see your face."
