Chapter 15

"Ah, Jeongyeon-ssi, come in." Nayeon said when Jeongyeon knocked on her door that was already open.

"Director Lee told me to give you these files. You have to review them." Jeongyeon handed her some files.

"Thank you, I will. Why don't you sit down? It's been a while since we spoke." This the perfect chance for Nayeon to tell Jeongyeon about her fake plan.

"Yeah, it's because you're so busy with your project." Jeongyeon laughed as she closed the door and sat down.

"I mean what can I do? I need to succeed."

"Of course, it's understandable. How is it going by the way? Any complications or new plans maybe?" The manager questioned.

"No complications but I am planning to do something, though."

"Oh really what is it?"

"There are two buildings right outside the area, I was thinking of buying them so I can extend the area a bit more. Also the buildings are expected to rise in value by a 100%, so I can't let this chance slide." Nayeon shared.

"Oh really? Where are you getting the money for that though? Besides are they even selling it?"

"There's a bit leftover money from the investors, and some of them would want to invest more. As for the other question, I'm still negotiating with them." Nayeon lied. She doesn't think Jeongyeon will betray her, but she's following Y/N's plan anyways.

"You're really doing your best for this, huh?"

"Of course, Jeongyeon-ie. My future depends on this." Nayeon smiled.

"Do you want to hang out sometime? It's been a while since we hung out." Jeongyeon asked.

"Yeah, sure. I'm a bit busy nowadays but I'll call you when I have some free time."

"Great, I should go back to work now. Good luck, Nayeon-ssi." Jeongyeon stood up.

"Wait Jeongyeon. No one can know about my plan to buy those buildings. It's top secret."

"You don't have to say that all the time. You know that I wouldn't backstab you." The manager informed.

"Yeah. Sorry, I'm just a bit paranoid, I guess."

"No problem, I understand. Bye, see you later." And with that Jeongyeon left the office.

"I really hope you won't betray me, Jeongyeon-ah." Nayeon said to herself and picked up her phone to call Y/N. She needs to let her know that she told Jeongyeon.

"Yes, Nayeon-ssi?"

"I told Jeongyeon." Nayeon said immediately.

"Okay, great. That was fast, now we just have to wait and see."

"I still don't think this plan will work." Nayeon shook her head.

"Only time will tell, right? I'll let you know when something happens."

"But Y/N-ssi, won't they find out that we were lying when they speak to the owners of those buildings?" Nayeon worried.

"No, I already talked to the owners about it. When Jin goes there, they'll play along and he'll really think that you want to buy it." Y/N informed. Nayeon now realized that Y/N can do anything. She even convinced the owners to play along. The CEO has a lot of power for sure.

"Okay, please call me when there's some news. Bye Y/N-ssi."

"Bye." And with that the two hung up.

The next day

"Yes, Dahyun-ah?" Y/N said when Dahyun walked into her office.

"Apparently Im Seokjin is trying to contact Mr. Kwang, the one who owns the buildings beside the Ray area."

"Oh really? It's only been a day and he's already trying to contact them huh? Jeongyeon really did her job." Y/N chuckled. She knew this was going to happen.

"I heard that they're meeting tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? Then I should go and talk to Mr. Kwang today." Y/N said and stood up. She has no time, she needs to talk to them before Jin does.

"Thank you, Dahyun-ah. You can leave for today.

"Yes, Ms. Chou."

Y/N called Mr. Kwang and he told her that she can come by his office to speak about the matter so Y/N went there immediately.

"Welcome, Ms. Chou please sit." The man gestured to the seat in front of him.

"Thank you, Mr. Kwang."

"Just like you predicted Im Seokjin called me today. I set up a meeting for tomorrow."

"Thank you for this favour. I really appreciate it. You just need to play along and say that Im Nayeon is trying to buy the buildings from you." Y/N informed.

"I am actually planning on selling them." The man sighed. Y/N didn't know about this.

"Oh, really? Why?"

"The buildings have dropped in value and they're only going to drop more when the Ray area gets reconstructed so I want to get rid of them." This is actually way better then what Y/N was planning. Now she has a new idea.

"What price are you asking for it?"

"2,5 billion won for the two." The man informed.

"Sell it to Im Seokjin for 5 billion."

"What? No one will pay 5 billion won for it."

"He will, trust me. He's definitely going to try to buy the buildings from you, no matter what. Just say that Im Nayeon is offering you 4 billion won. Then he'll offer 5 billion won himself." Y/N said. When Jin buys those buildings for 5 billion won, he'll lose all his money and he'll definitely get into trouble.

"So you're saying that I should really sell them to him?"

"Yes. He's the only one that'll give you this much money for it. But slow down the process. Say that you already talked to Im Nayeon and that you still need to think about it. Take some of his time." When Jin is busy trying to buy the buildings, Y/N and Nayeon can focus on the actual project.

"Okay, if you say so."

"I want you to record your meeting with him tomorrow. Is that possible?" Y/N questioned.

"Of course Ms. Chou."

"This is staying between the two of us. He can never know that the two of us met, understand?" The man isn't very powerful while Y/N is, so he has no choice but to agree.

"Yes, Ms. Chou. You can trust me."

"Great. See you later, Mr. Kwang." Y/N shook his hand and left the place.

"You're going down Im Seokjin." Y/N smiled to herself when she got into her car.

The next day Y/N called Nayeon and asked her to come to her apartment. Nayeon didn't really understand why but she agreed anyways since it's probably about Jin.

"Come in." Y/N opened the door when Nayeon rang the bell.

"What is it?" Nayeon asked.

"Let's sit. It should start in about 5 minutes." Y/N said and sat down on the couch while Nayeon sat down next to her.

"What's gonna start?"

"You'll see." Y/N opened her laptop. Jin will be meeting with Mr. Kwang today and just like Y/N asked it's going to get voice recorded so that Nayeon and Y/N can hear what they're talking about.

"Jin is going to meet the owner of the building right now. Listen carefully." The CEO placed the laptop on the table in front of them. Nayeon raised her eyebrows. She wasn't expecting to listen to this live.

"Hello, Mr. Kwang thank you for meeting me." Jin's voice was heard.

"No problem. What can I help you with?"

"I heard you're selling the two buildings near the Ray district."

"That's true. It's not on the market yet. How did you know?" The man questioned.

"I hear everything Mr. Kwang. I heard the buildings' value will rise by a 100%. Is that true?"

"Yes, it is expected to rise when the Ray district is redeveloped." The man is telling him whatever Y/N said that he should tell him.

"Great. I know Im Nayeon is negotiating with you right now. May I know how much she's offering?"

"I don't know if I should say this. It's top secret that she negotiated with us." It'll be too suspicious if he immediately answers so he needs to walk around the bush.

"Trust me, she won't find out. How much is she offering?"

"4 billion won."

"I'm offering you 5 billion." Jin stated. Nayeon looked at Y/N to see her reaction but Y/N had a pokerface. It seems like she already knew about this.

"Thank you for your offer but Im Nayeon-ssi and I were close to an agreement."

"Well, you didn't agree yet. So it's still possible for you to accept my offer. Besides it'll be better to sell it to me." Jin tried to convince.

"How about I think about this a little bit and call you later?"

"Of course. Please let me know." Jin said and after that there was silence so Y/N guesses that their conversation ended.

"So she did tell him." Nayeon said weakly. How could Jeongyeon do this to her?

"Yes and there's a change of plans." Y/N informed. "I talked to Mr. Kwang yesterday and he is actually planning on selling the buildings. The current value of the buildings are 2,5 billion won, but it will drop to 1 billion in the next year. So I told him to sell it to Jin for 5 billion."

"W-what? Wasn't it our plan to just waste his time and divert his attention to something else?"

"Yes, that was before I found out about this. He's going to buy those buildings and eventually lose all his money." Y/N chuckled.

"And how is that beneficial for us?" Nayeon thinks this is too much.

"He doesn't have that much money so he'll ask money from your dad. Your dad will give it to him and once Jin loses all of that money, your dad will be furious and he won't make Jin the CEO." Of course Y/N thought everything through.

"I just thinks this is too much." Nayeon worried.

"Look Nayeon-ssi. I know this is cruel, but I know for a fact that Jin would do much worse than this to beat you." Y/N can see that Nayeon has a good heart. Despite her brother treating her like shit, she still cares about him. Y/N finds that quite admirable. She never would've thought for Im Nayeon to have a soft heart. All the rich girls she knows are just cruel.

"You need to be cruel if you want to win in this race. You need to be just like him. You can't win if you keep worrying about this. And just remember you don't have to do this. If you think you won't be able to do this tell me now so that we don't waste our time. It'll be too late for you to stop once he buys those buildings." Y/N informed. If Nayeon pulls away in the middle then Y/N's plan for revenge will fall through.

"You're right. Don't worry, I can do this." Nayeon took a deep breath.

"Are you sure?" Y/N is not convinced. She's worried that Nayeon will screw it up.

"Yes. I'll be cruel just like him. That's what he deserves."

"Perfect. Oh give me a minute, Mr. Kwang is calling." Y/N said when her phone rang.

"Yes, Mr. Kwang? Yes, I listened to the conversation. Thank you. Don't do anything unless I tell you so. I'll tell you when to sell it to him. For now just act like you're doubting but also let him know that he has a chance. Alright thank you, goodbye." Y/N demanded and hung up the phone. Nayeon was being silent. It seems like she's in deep thoughts and Y/N can guess why.

"You're shocked that she betrayed you right?" The CEO asked but Nayeon didn't answer.

"Don't be disappointed. This is going to happen a lot from now on, especially when you become the CEO. A lot of people will betray you. Even the people that you think would never betray you."

"Why aren't you laughing at me? Shouldn't you be telling me that you told me this would happen? You were right so go ahead and laugh." Nayeon is embarrassed. Y/N told her that this would happen but she refused to believe.

"I won't do that." Y/N is not that heartless.

"Were you ever betrayed?" Nayeon asked suddenly.

"Of course. In the beginning I was betrayed a few times. That's why I don't trust anyone anymore."

"I need to teach her a lesson." Nayeon said angrily and suddenly stood up. She's angry at Jeongyeon for betraying her. But more than angry she's actually hurt and dissappointed.

"Stop. You'll betray yourself if you confront her about this." Y/N stopped her holding her arm. Nayeon looked at her and thought for about 10 seconds before sighing and sitting back down.

"You think I'm useless right? If it weren't for you this project would've already failed. Aish I'm such a loser." Nayeon hid her face with her hands.

"You're not a loser." Y/N put Nayeon's hands down slowly and Nayeon blushed at the sudden contact.

"I wouldn't be working with you if you were. Be confident and believe in yourself. You and I, we can do this, okay?" Y/N looked in Nayeon's eyes. To be honest Y/N does think that Nayeon is pretty useless. In Y/N's eyes she doesn't have what it takes to be a CEO and if Y/N didn't help her, this project definitely would have failed. Nayeon on the other hand is touched by Y/N's words. No one has ever believed in her like this. Y/N's words just melt her heart and she hates it. She hates that Y/N has this kind of effect on her. She hates that she might be falling for the young CEO.

"What if I mess up?" Nayeon said weakly.

"You won't, just trust me. As long as you do what I say, you'll achieve your goal. Yes, you are inexperienced and you don't really know what you're doing but I will help you. I'll teach you and show you how to be a good CEO." Y/N held Nayeon by her shoulders. She could see how Nayeon was looking at her. It's so clear that the girl is attracted to Y/N and Y/N is not enjoying this. She knows Nayeon's heart is going to break in the end, but she can't help it. This is her first and probably her last chance for revenge.

By seeing the look in Nayeon's eyes Y/N took the opportunity and went closer to Nayeon. Nayeon could already feel Y/N's breath on her lips. Her heart is beating so fast that she couldn't even move. Luckily Y/N decided to put her lips onto Nayeon's. She kissed her slowly and lovingly and Nayeon immediately reacted. Their lips were in sync and both of them have to admit that this was their best kiss yet. The CEO is such a good kisser that Nayeon feels like she won't be able to stop herself. She just wants more and more.

Y/N feels bad for doing this but if she wants to succeed, she needs to earn Nayeon's trust. The harder she falls for Y/N, the easier it will be.

"Let's do this." Nayeon said weakly as she pulled away, her face still close to Y/N's.

"Let's bring Jin down. And Jeongyeon too." Y/N smiled upon hearing that. This was what she wanted.

"Whatever you wish, Ms. Im." Y/N said seductively and Nayeon couldn't hold herself back from crashing her lips onto Y/N's once again.
