Chapter 43

"Did she really just throw me out?" Chaeyoung asked when her older cousin left the scene.

"I'll talk to her Chaeyoung-ah, don't worry about it." Mr. Chou told her.

"Don't waste your energy. We all know what she's like." Chaeyoung sighed and Nayeon became confused hearing that. What does she mean?

"We have no choice. You have nowhere to go, Chaeyoung-ah. You'll literally end up on the streets." Tzuyu stated.

"I'll figure something out. This was bound to happen one day anyways. I've been testing her a lot ever since I moved in."

"I'll talk to her Chaeyoung-ah. I mean she wouldn't let you leave like that. I'm sure she'll change her mind." Nayeon interrupted.

"You don't know what she's like Nayeon-ssi. If Y/N unnie says something, it's final. She won't change her mind." Chaeyoung shook her head.

"I can try. I might be able to convince her."

"Don't even bother." Chaeyoung stood up and left. She knows Y/N won't change her mind, she really fucked up.

"Is she really giving up that easily?" Nayeon questioned. Why is Chaeyoung acting like this?

"You can try to talk to her Nayeon-ah but be careful. Y/N is really mad right now and when she makes decisions when she's mad, she's certain about them." Mrs. Chou informed. Aren't they all overreacting? In Nayeon's eyes Y/N will surely change her mind.

"I'll talk to her." Nayeon sighed and left.

"I hope she's not going to regret it." Tzuyu stated. Whenever people try to change Y/N's mind she's cruel and cuts them off immediately.

"We should've stopped her." Mrs. Chou wished.

"I don't think we could've done it. Just let her talk to her. She'll see another side of Y/N after this." Y/N's father added.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" Nayeon walked into Y/N's room. Y/N looks really mad. Nayeon has never seen her like this.

"Do I look okay to you?" Y/N asked harshly.

"Babe, please calm down."

"I'm going to take a shower. You go to bed already. It's late." Y/N said and went into the bathroom which made Nayeon sigh. After about half an hour Y/N finally came out of the bathroom. Just like Y/N said, Nayeon is already in bed, but she's not sleeping, she's just doing something on her phone.

Nayeon watched Y/N get dressed and she finds Y/N pretty scary when she's mad. The way the CEO confronted Chaeyoung was not something that Nayeon was expecting. What Nayeon doesn't understand in this household is, why Y/N is the one to make all the decisions. She gets that Tzuyu and Chaeyoung don't talk back to her. It's obvious they have a lot of respect for Y/N but what about her parents? I mean they're her parents but it feels like the other way around. As her parents they should be able to stop her, but they don't. They can't.

"Good night." Y/N said and laid beside Nayeon. She's so mad right now that she doesn't think that she'll be able to sleep but she's going to try anyways.

"Y/N, we need to talk."

"Can we please talk tomorrow?" Y/N pleaded.

"This can't wait, Y/N."

"Fine. I'm listening." Y/N gave in.

"Look I get that you're mad. I would've been mad as well. After all it's not a minor thing that you found but don't you think throwing her out is a bit too much? You know very well she has nowhere to go."

"Then she should've thought about that before bringing drugs into my house." Y/N looked at Nayeon with raised eyebrows.

"She's young, she makes mistakes and I'm sure she knows that it was a mistake."

"She's not that young, Nayeon-ah. She's freaking 22 years old, she should know what's wrong and what's right." Y/N just gets mad thinking about it.

"Aren't you being too hard on her? Maybe that's why she never listens to you."

"What are you trying to do, Nayeon-ah? Are you trying to say that what she did is not that bad? Are you also going to bring drugs into this house? If yes then there's the door." Y/N gestured to the door. She's getting annoyed with how Nayeon tries to fix things without even knowing Chaeyoung and Y/N's full history.

"I'm going to ignore what you just said for your own safety." Nayeon is also starting to get mad at this point. She's just trying to help yet Y/N is acting like a dick.

"Look, Chaeyoung is not easy to deal with. I went through a lot of things with her. She was a drug addict and her parents even sent her to rehab when she was only 15 years old. She got involved with drugs at a very young age. Despite her parents sending her to rehab Chaeyoung didn't really improve. Her usage lessened but it never really disappeared, so her parents threw her out because she was an embarrassment to them. She had nowhere to go and I took her in but I had a few conditions and one of them was to stop using drugs." Nayeon is surprised by this information. She knew that Chaeyoung is someone that does a lot of bad things but becoming an addict at the age of 15 is a bit too much.

"I did the hard approach first but she kept getting herself in trouble no matter how hard I was on her. I saw that it wasn't working so I tried to do the soft approach afterwards. That's why I bought her a bike, let her go to art school and gave her some freedom but it seems like none of these work. Now tell me what should I do with her? Throwing her out is the only option that she left me with." Y/N sighed deeply. She never wanted this to come so far.

"Throwing her out is not a solution Y/N. She'll only get worse, you know that right? You need to find the in between. Don't you think she's improving? I mean from what I've heard she was a lot worse before. The reason for her improvement is you, Y/N. You're the one that's helping her improve because you and your family show her the love that she was probably not getting before. You accept and love her as she is and I'm sure that means a lot to her. If you cut doing that, then It'll only go downhill." Nayeon caressed Y/N's arm while Y/N just looked sad.

"It's too hard on me. I just feel like I can't deal with it anymore. You've been staying here for some time now, I'm sure you've noticed what kind of family we are. We're not the usual rich family, Nayeon-ie. Everyone is relying on me instead of my parents. I'm the one that's responsible for everything in this household and it's been like that for years. I'm tired of having to take care of everything all by myself. The company, my parents, Tzuyu, Chaeyoung. it's getting too much." Y/N confessed and Nayeon is feeling bad for her girlfriend. It was obvious to her that Y/N is dealing with a lot. Nayeon was always curious on how Y/N manages to take care of everything so well and now she knows the answer. Y/N sacrifices herself for the sake of her company and her family. She puts her family first instead of herself.

"Why is it like that? I mean why aren't your parents getting involved with the decision making? They're the parents here, you should be able to rely on them not the other way around."

"Ever since my dad got a burnout it's been like this. He's not capable of taking care of us anymore and as for my mom she has depression so I don't want to make it hard for her, that's why I took over everything and they let me do it because they know I'd do a better job than them."

"You're a very strong woman, Chou Y/N. Your family is very lucky to have you." Nayeon smiled weakly and cupped Y/N's face.

"You know ever since I met you, it's been easier. Now I feel like I'm not alone in all of this."

"Of course not. I will always be by your side and I will lessen all this weight on your shoulders." Nayeon assured and Y/N leaned in to give her a short kiss on the lips. She's very lucky to have Nayeon.

"Please just think things through before throwing Chaeyoung out. I'm not going to tell you what to do because I know that in the end, you'll make the right decision but please don't do something that you'll regret." Nayeon pleaded and Y/N nodded. If it were someone else trying to convince Y/N like this, Y/N would have scolded them but when it's Nayeon it actually works.

"I love you, Nayeon-ah."

"I love you too, love." Nayeon smiled and cuddled Y/N.

The next morning Chaeyoung got up early and packed all her stuff. She doesn't want to go, but she realizes what kind of mistake she made. Y/N spend a lot of her time and money for Chaeyoung to stop getting into trouble, but Chaeyoung couldn't appreciate it. She feels bad for her older cousin so she should just go and not be a burden to Y/N anymore.

"You're really going?" Tzuyu asked when she saw Chaeyoung with her suitcase.

"Yeah, I'm going."

"Where will you even go to?"

"I'm going to stay with a friend until I find something else."

"We'll fix this Chaeyoung-ah. I'll find you a place to stay." Mr. Chou joined the conversation.

"Thank you uncle. I should go now, Y/N unnie will be mad if she sees that I'm still here." Chaeyoung said and made her way to the door. Tzuyu and her parents feel bad that they can't do anything about this. That's the kind of power Y/N holds in this household.

"Wait." Someone said from behind and Chaeyoung turned around to see Y/N and her girlfriend.

"Come here." Y/N said and gestured for her to come closer. Chaeyoung is scared.

"What are you waiting for? Come here." Y/N repeated and Chaeyoung went closer leaving her suitcase next to the front door. Y/N's parents looked at each other in worry. They hope that Y/N doesn't pull of something worse than this.

"Hand me your phone."

"W-why?" Chaeyoung asked weakly.

"Just do it." Y/N demanded and Chaeyoung did as she was told.

"Hand me your wallet and the keys to your bike as well."

"Unnie this is too much. You're already throwing her out. Are you also going to take her belongings?" Tzuyu asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Tzuyu is right, Y/N-ah. At least give her her wallet and phone back. She needs those things." Mrs. Chou added but Y/N didn't listen to them. Nayeon just looked at them waiting for what's going to happen. She has a feeling that Y/N changed her mind but it can turn out to be worse as well.

"Mrs. Hwang, bring Chaeyoung's suitcase to her room. She's not leaving." Y/N informed and everyone raised their eyebrows. How is this possible? Y/N never ever has changed her mind about something, so what caused her to do it now?

"I'm not throwing you out, but you have no choice but to adjust to the rules of this household. You know very well what the rules are so don't make me repeat them."

"I will do anything as long as you don't throw me out." Chaeyoung looked down.

"I'm going to keep your belongings for a while and you can't go out unless you're with me. I'll bring you to school and I'll come to pick you up. Other than that you're not going anywhere, not even with Tzuyu or my parents. Only me. if you try to escape or go somewhere else during school hours, I won't hesitate to throw you out."

"Okay unnie. I promise I won't go out."

"Be honest with me, Chaeyoung-ah. Have you been doing drugs lately?" Y/N asked and Chaeyoung nodded slowly.

"Why? I mean I thought you stopped. Did you lie?"

"I didn't. I really stopped but I started doing it again like a month ago. I'm sorry, I couldn't control myself." Chaeyoung's eyes got watery. She really can't stop herself from doing it.

"You're either stopping with doing drugs or I'll have to send you to rehab again. I really don't want to do it, so please try hard Chaeyoung-ah. All of us will help you get through this."

"Now go to your room and reflect on your actions. Not just this drug thing but everything. Everything you ever did wrong. I only want the best for you, that's why I'm being hard on you not because I want to punish you." Y/N explained and Chaeyoung suddenly hugged Y/N which made everyone smile weakly.

"Thank you. Thank you so much." Chaeyoung knows that she'll only go downhill if Y/N lets her go. The only reason why she's not homeless or a drug addict is because of Y/N.

"Don't make me regret giving you this chance. Also you should thank Nayeon, without her I wouldn't have changed my mind." Y/N informed and left. The moment she left Chaeyoung sighed in relief.

"I can't believe she actually changed her mind." Mrs. Chou said in disbelief.

"Nayeon unnie is the only one that has ever succeeded. I guess she really loves you." Tzuyu said to Nayeon and Nayeon smiled upon hearing that. It's weird that no one ever could change Y/N's mind. Nayeon feels quite good knowing that Y/N actually listened to her and took her words into consideration.

"Nayeon-ah, can I speak to you in my study?" Mr. Chou asked and Nayeon nodded as she followed him. What does he want to talk about?

"I guess you're a bit confused on why we're acting like this, right?" The man asked and Nayeon just nodded.

"Y/N can be scary. Whenever she says something in this household, it will happen. She has her rules and everyone has to follow. The rules aren't bad don't worry. Those are just to prevent her sister and cousin from doing bad stuff." He started to explain but Nayeon doesn't really get where he's going with this.

"What I'm trying to say is, my daughter is pretty cold hearted. She may look like she's charming and very polite but underneath there's a cold hearted girl. However she seems to soften up lately and I know for sure that it's your doing so thank you. Ever since you started staying here things have been going better. Her mom and I feel at ease, now that she has you."

"I really love your daughter, Mr. Chou. I'd do anything for her."

"I know. I know. I couldn't have imagined someone better for my daughter. She might screw it up later on but please don't leave her. She's new at this thing called love." Why did he say the exact same thing as Mrs. Chou? It's like they're both trying to warn her for something that's about to come.

"I know it's not easy for her. I've noticed how she doesn't really know how a relationship works but I'll teach her that. Don't worry about it."

"Ah, Y/N really is a lucky girl." The man smiled and they continued to talk for a few minutes until Nayeon decided to leave.

"Ms. Chou?" Dahyun went to her boss the moment Y/N walked into the building. "Im Seokjin is waiting for you upstairs. I told him to go but he refuses to. What should I do? Should I ask security to make him leave?"

"Did he say why he's here?" Y/N can already guess why he's here.

"No, he just said that he needs to talk to you."

"Don't do anything. Let's just go upstairs and see what he wants." Y/N said and the two went upstairs. There she saw Jin flirting with her secretary.

"Stop disturbing my secretary, Im Seokjin. Find yourself another girl to flirt with."

"Finally, you're here. I've been waiting for like 5 minutes. Is that how you treat your guests?"

"Since you're an UNINVITED guest, yes, I'll treat you like that." Y/N emphasized.

"Funny as always, Y/N-ssi." He laughed.

"Let's talk in my office." Y/N suggested and Jin followed her after he winked to Y/N's secretary, which Y/N found pretty disgusting.

"So why are you here?" Y/N questioned the moment they got into her office.

"Just here to visit my best friend." He joked.

"Stop talking bullshit and just get to the point."

"You know you are charming and polite towards everyone except for me. Why's that? I also want to speak to the charming Y/N that everyone knows." Jin chuckled and Y/N didn't answer. She just glared at him which made him stop smiling.

"I heard you're selling your shares to my dad. I wasn't expecting for you to give in to be honest. I think that you're planning something, but I'm not quite sure what."

"I'm not planning anything. Like I said to your dad, I'll sell them in two weeks. So if you don't have anything else to ask, leave."

"Why two weeks though? Because of Nayeon? You know I thought you were just using her, but why do I feel like you actually care about her? Don't tell me that you're in love with my little sister?" He laughed.

"I don't fucking care about your sister and I never will. She's just someone that I'm using to bring you and your father down. She's nothing but a tool for me to get what I want." Y/N lied. Jin can't know that she actually cares about her because then he'll use that to his advantage.

"I should be mad that you're using my sister like this, but I actually find this quite amusing. She deserves to be used like this. She's so stupid that she fell under your spell. She'll learn not to trust people so easily in the future." Hearing Jin say that about her girlfriend made Y/N mad. How can he talk like that about his sister?

"What kind of brother even are you? You should protect her instead of wanting her in danger." Y/N is disgusted by this guy.

"Nah, the only one I need to protect is myself. I mean look at you. Your entire family is pathetic. You keep protecting them and helping them, but they're still losers. They're lucky that at least you are capable of doing business. Same thing goes for Nayeon. Even if I help her, she'll still be a loser so no need to waste my time and energy." He started to laugh loudly. Y/N is very close to punching him.

"Is that why you came here? To say all of that?"

"I'm just here to warn you, Chou Y/N. Try tricking us and both you, Nayeon and your pathetic family will go down. You can't win against us so don't even try playing the game." Jin chuckled as he patted Y/N's head and left the office.

"I can't win against you huh? We'll see about that Im Seokjin." Y/N said to herself and grabbed her phone to call Jihyo.

"Get ready Jihyo-yah. We're going to the police station tomorrow morning."

"Are you sure?" Jihyo asked.

"100% sure. Tomorrow is finally the day that we'll get our revenge." Y/N nodded to herself.
