Chapter 45

The next day both Nayeon and her mother went to the police station early in the morning but it wasn't very easy since reporters kept following them everywhere. The whole city is talking about their family. Luckily it's not out that Y/N was the one behind this otherwise the news would have been even bigger. Nayeon couldn't sleep all night because she kept thinking of her conversation with Y/N. She doesn't blame Y/N for wanting them in jail but Nayeon is just really bothered by the fact that Y/N used her to get what she wants. It seems like Y/N is blinded by getting revenge and it's the only thing that she cares about.

"Mr. Lee, any news?" Nayeon asked her father's secretary the moment they arrived.

"The police started investigating. Until now everything points to them. According to Mr. Sook the trial will be somewhere next week."

"Can we see them?" Mrs. Im asked the police officer that was listening to them.

"I can only allow one of you to see them."

"How about I see your dad and you see Jin?" Nayeon's mother suggested to which she nodded.

"Follow me." The man said and brought Nayeon to the interrogation room where Jin is.

"Why are you here?" He asked when he saw his sister.

"To talk to you."

"Are you happy now? We're probably going to jail and you'll live your life out there as the CEO. It's everything you ever wanted." That's not true at all. Nayeon never would have wanted to be in these circumstances.

"Of course I'm not happy oppa." Jin would normally not believe her, but she really doesn't look happy.

"You know who did this right?" He guessed and Nayeon nodded.

"I know it was Y/N and I also know why she did it."

"How does it feel to be backstabbed? We warned you multiple times yet you didn't listen. She used you to get to us. I hope you finally see that."

"I do. I admit I was a fool and I fell under her spell." Nayeon looked down.

"That's why you shouldn't fall in love. You become blind when you're in love and then you end up getting hurt. Because of your stupidness dad and I are going to fucking jail! It's all your fault!" He yelled.

"How is it my fault? Did I kill them? Did I trigger Y/N to do this? No I did not! So stop blaming me!"

"Are you seriously going to defend her? She used you, Nayeon-ah. She doesn't love you. Get that in your stupid head." Jin said and Nayeon didn't say anything. It's true that Y/N used her but did she really fake everything? Y/N kept saying yesterday that her love wasn't an act and even though Nayeon doesn't want to believe it, a part of her tells her that it's true.

"Omo, don't tell me that you actually believe her lies?" Her brother chuckled.

"This is only the beginning, Nayeon-ah. That woman is dangerous and believe me she's not satisfied with just putting us in jail and making you the CEO. Her main plan is to destroy ImTech. She deceived you and asked you for help but in the end all your help will be for nothing because she wants ImTech gone." Her brother revealed. Nayeon can't believe her ears. Does Y/N really want ImTech gone? But why?

"How do you know that and why should I believe you?"

"She literally told me that. Mr. Lee has a recording that I gave him before we got arrested. Ask him to give it to you and listen to it. Then you'll understand what I mean." The guy demanded and Nayeon nodded.

"Protect ImTech, Nayeon-ah. Things aren't looking good for us. You're the only one that can protect ImTech. If dad and I go to jail, dad's shares will probably go to you. That means that you'll become a major shareholder. You have to protect your shares and the company at all costs." Jin hates the situation he is in right now. He and his dad never thought that they would go to jail because they thought that there was no evidence at all. They're quite impressed with how Y/N managed to get all that evidence against them. He knows the company is in danger and he hates how Nayeon is the only one that can save it.

"I won't let her destroy the company, oppa. I promise."

"I hope so. I don't believe in you but we have no other choice." He sighed.

"Time is over, Ms. Im. You need to leave." The police officer said and Nayeon left the room.

"Mom are you okay?" She asked when her mom also came out of the room next to them.

"What are we going to do Nayeon-ah?" The woman cried and Nayeon pulled her into a hug. She hates seeing her mom like this.

"What are you doing here?" Nayeon suddenly saw Sana talking to a police officer. Why is she here?

"I'm a lawyer. Isn't it normal for me to be here?"

"Mr. Lee, can you bring mom home?" Nayeon asked the man. Her mom is not okay right now so she needs to go.

"Sure, let's go Mrs. Im." He said and walked away with Nayeon's mother.

"Whose lawyer are you exactly?"

"She's my lawyer." A voice said from behind and Nayeon turned around to see Y/N.

"W-what? You're her lawyer?" She asked Sana and Sana nodded.

"So you two are a team now huh?"

"We're not a team. I'm just doing my job." Sana defended.

"Liar. You're doing this because you want my dad gone." Nayeon isn't stupid. She knows Sana's intentions.

"And my wish will become true very soon. Your asshole of a dad should have thought about that before fucking my mom." Sana approached Nayeon but Y/N stopped her.

"Sana stop. Can you leave us alone for a second?" Y/N demanded and Sana nodded as she went to talk to the officers.

"So how much more is there that I don't know about? You even got Sana as your lawyer behind my back." Nayeon crossed her arms. Who else that she knows is taking part of Y/N's little game?

"Nothing. You found out everything."

"Are you sure? Is this satisfying enough for your revenge? To see them go to jail?"

"Yes. It is. This is what I wanted." Y/N lied.

"I hope you're not lying." Nayeon didn't mention about what Jin told her earlier because one she's not sure if Jin's telling her the truth and two she needs to act clueless on this so that Y/N doesn't catch up.

"I'm not. Look, I know you're mad and I'm aware that I hurt you but I really do love you."

"Stop it Y/N. We already had this conversation yesterday."

"We were yelling and screaming to each other. That's not really a conversation is it? I just want you to know, okay? My deal is with your father and brother not with you and believe me it was hard falling for the daughter of my biggest enemy. I really tried not to but I did." Y/N explained. Nayeon doesn't know if she should believe her. After all Y/N lied to her a lot but she keeps insisting that she didn't lie about being in love with her. But then again she remembers what Jin said and he mentioned something about a recording. She needs to ask Mr. Lee for it as soon as possible.

"Y/N you need to come. There's something they need to ask you." Sana said and Y/N smiled weakly at Nayeon before leaving. Nayeon needs to go home to ask Mr. Lee about the recording so she was about to leave but suddenly saw Jihyo walking in. She has many questions. Was Jihyo part of Y/N's plan? How does she feel about Nayeon's family being the killers of her parents?

"Oh, Nayeon-ssi." Jihyo spoke up first.

"Hi." Nayeon doesn't know what to say, after all she feels bad for the girl. Jihyo became an orphan at a young age because of her family.

"Do you want to talk somewhere in private? I bet both of us have some things to say." Jihyo asked and Nayeon nodded as the two walked to somewhere private.

"I'm not angry with you so don't be nervous." Jihyo informed as she sat down at a table.

"Why? I mean your parents are gone because of my family."

"Exactly, not because of you. You might think that I hate you but I don't because I'm well aware that you didn't know about all of this until now. I admit that I hated you before, but after I got to know you, I changed my mind." Jihyo is such a good hearted person that Nayeon feels even more bad now.

"I deserve for you to hate me." Nayeon looked down.

"No, you don't. Don't blame yourself."

"Were you planning all of this with Y/N as well? I mean were you aware and how long have you known who the real killers are?"

"I knew ever since they got killed but I was never after revenge just like how Y/N was. I even told her not to do it but no one could change her mind. When we found out that my mom is also Y/N's mom, our need for revenge intensified. Your brother also came to me just to rub it in my face that my parents are gone and that he's the cause of it. After that encounter I started to help Y/N, so yes I did help her." Well, Nayeon can't blame Jihyo. She would have done the same in her place.

"I know that you're mad at Y/N but please don't be. She went through a lot and never had it easy. She had to be an adult at a young age and has been taking care of her family for a long time. I wouldn't say this if it wasn't true but she really loves you, Nayeon-ssi. She even wanted to give up on times because she didn't want to hurt you but your brother and dad kept challenging her so she kept going. You really mean a lot to her. Please don't leave her." Jihyo pleaded. Y/N never has been as happy as she was with Nayeon. Jihyo is sure that Nayeon and Y/N are made for each other, but the circumstances aren't helping.

"If she really loved me, she would have at least told me. I wouldn't have tried to stop her." Nayeon looked down.

"She couldn't take the risk. This was her only chance at justice and she decided to take it."

"Thank you for talking to me, Jihyo-ssi. I'm really sorry towards you and I hope you can forgive me." Nayeon looked at her.

"You're forgiven, but no way your dad and brother are." She chuckled. "Anyways, I should go now. I bet Y/N is waiting for me."

"Goodbye, Jihyo-ssi." They both bid their goodbyes and with that Jihyo went to Y/N and Sana.

"We're going to interrogate Mr. Im again." The police officer informed.

"We want to hear all of it." Sana stated and the man nodded. All of them walked to the interrogation room. The officer went inside while Sana, Y/N, Jihyo and another officer were listening outside.

"You're being very silent, Mr. Im. You know things aren't looking good for you right?"

"I already said that I didn't kill them." I mean it's kinda true. He ordered Jin to kill them, he didn't do it himself.

"No point in lying anymore. Park Jimin already confessed that he is innocent and that you threatened him. You gave him no choice but to plead guilty." The moment Mr. Im heard that, his blood started to boil. How dare Jimin betray him?

"He's lying! This is all Chou Y/N's doing, she's the one behind all of this! She's the one that's guilty not me or my son!" The man started yelling.

"Look the best thing you can do right now is just tell the truth. All the evidence point against you and if Jimin tells the truth at court it'll be over for you. Besides it isn't just this case that you're charged guilty of. You're a dangerous man Mr. Im. It seems like you've done a lot of illegal things. We've found things such as stealing money, not only from innocent people but also from the government. There's no way you can escape going to prison. Just tell the truth so that your sentence can be reduced."

"I'm telling the truth. I didn't do anything." He's very persistent on this and will never admit that he's guilty.

"Your son is exactly like you. He also doesn't admit to it, but in the end this will be just bad for you two. Your sentence can be reduced a lot just by telling the truth." The officer raised his eyebrows but Mr. Im kept quiet.

"Officer, can I speak to him for a moment?" Sana opened the door.

"Sure. Maybe you can get some things out of him." The man said while he walked out and Sana entered.

"Why the fuck are you here?" Mr. Im furrowed his eyebrows.

"I'm Y/N's lawyer. Surprise." She started to laugh like a psychopath.

"Your mom won't be happy to hear that."

"My mom doesn't even care about you. You were just a stupid mistake to her." Sana crossed her arms.

"Is that why she came to visit me yesterday?" He smirked which made Sana speechless. Her mom came here?

"I see you didn't know about this huh. Get this in your head, Sana. Even if I disappear, your mom is still going to love me. She doesn't love your dad so just stop whatever the hell you're doing, cause it won't work." He chuckled and Sana hit the table with her fist because this man is really making her mad.

"Once you're out of sight, mom will realize what kind of an asshole you are. Believe me it won't be just a couple of years that you'll be in prison, it's going to be a lot. Do you think mom will wait for you all that time? No she won't."

"Keep dreaming, Sana-ssi. That woman is head over heels for me." He started to laugh and luckily the officer came back stopping the two from talking.

"I'll take it over from here." The man said and Sana nodded as she walked out.

"He makes me so fucking mad!" Sana yelled and Y/N patted the woman's back to calm her down.

"We'll succeed, Sana. He'll be in jail soon so no need to get mad." Y/N assured her.

The moment Y/N and Jihyo stepped out of the police station they were bombarded with questions by reporters. This is a huge thing and all the news stations are trying to find out more about this case. They know Y/N is involved somehow but not exactly how or why.

"Ms. Chou, what is your relationship with the family that got killed?"

"Are you the one that caused the case to reopen?" She kept getting questions like these.

"Listen up everyone!" She yelled grabbing their attention. "Yes, I was the one that gathered all the evidence and gave it to the police so that the case would be reopened. This woman here is the daughter of the family that got killed." She gestured to Jihyo. Jihyo wasn't expecting for Y/N to reveal all of this, so she basically stood there completely frozen.

"She's a very close friend of mine and also my half-sister." All the reporters gasped when they heard that. This is some big new information. "The woman that got killed is my birth mother. My father was married to Mrs. Park and they had me. He later on married my current mother."

"Ms. Chou when did you find out about all of this?" Again they started bombarding her with questions but Y/N just walked away into her car along with Jihyo.

"Why the hell did you reveal that?" Jihyo yelled the moment they started to drive.

"They were going to find out anyways." Y/N sighed.

Y/N's family on the other hand is at home watching the news when they suddenly saw Y/N and Jihyo on tv.

Breaking news: Chou Y/N has revealed to be the one to sue Im Seokjin and his father, the former CEO of ImTech. She has also revealed that the woman that was murdered is her biological mother.

Hearing this on the news Mrs. Chou started to cry. How could Y/N reveal all of that? Does she really not see her as her real mother anymore?

"Mom..." Tzuyu tried to comfort her.

"H-how could she?" The woman cried and right at that moment Y/N and Chaeyoung walked in. Y/N went to pick the girl up from school before she came home. Y/N saw her mom crying in front of the tv and she immediately knew why since they were still talking about Y/N and the Im's.

"Why, Y/N? Why did you reveal it?" Her father asked.

"They were going to find out soon. We can't hide this after what I did. Now everyone will know the reason why I'm so persistent on getting them into jail."

"Look at mom. Please look at her. She's been a mess since yesterday because of you!" Tzuyu hates seeing her mom like this and it's all Y/N's fault.

"I had to do it, I had no choice." Y/N said and the crying woman suddenly stood up and approached her.

"Don't you see me as your mom? I took care of you since you were a baby, Y/N! I see you as my own daughter and I've never ever treated you like someone else's. I care about you as much as I care about my own daughter. Why did you have to reveal it?" She cried more and Y/N' is also tearing up. It would have been different if the reporters found it out theirselves, but the fact that Y/N revealed it herself really hurts the woman.

"I do see you as my mom. Whatever happens, you'll always be my mother." Y/N does mean that.

"Why are you like this, Y/N? What made you be so coldhearted?" The woman asked her but Y/N didn't even answer. The are too many things that caused her to be like this. Y/N looks like she's charming and warmhearted from the outside but she's actually pretty coldhearted in the inside. Nayeon is the exact opposite. She looks coldhearted but is actually warmhearted.

"I'm very disappointed in you, Chou Y/N." She said and walked away.

"You took this too far Y/N. You know I always supported you in whatever you did, but I'm sorry I can't support you right now. You're hurting all of us by doing this, including Nayeon, who was your only chance at happiness and living a normal life. Revenge isn't everything, Y/N. You got your revenge now but you hurt too many people in the process. Some things are just meant to let go of and this is one of them." Her father said in a disappointed voice as well before walking away.

"Are you two also going to walk away?" Y/N asked her sister and cousin.

"You left us no choice. You turned into a monster, unnie. Please fix yourself before it's too late. It seems like you only care about this stupid revenge. It has become your life and your reason for living. It's just pathetic at this point." Tzuyu told her honestly and with that the two younger girls also walked away. The moment everyone left, Y/N's tears fell. She knows she went too far but she can't stop herself from doing all of this. She can't be happy unless she gets justice for Mrs. and Mr. Park. She needs to see those two men get hurt and she'll do whatever it takes to hurt them.
