Chapter 54

Nayeon is in her office working right now, but her mind doesn't seem to cooperate. She can't stop thinking about Y/N. Y/N didn't even say that much to her at the hospital but what she said left Nayeon thinking 24/7 about her. That isn't the only thing that is keeping her mind occupied. Mrs. Chou's words are lingering in her mind as well. The way the woman actually gave her advice and how she doesn't blame Nayeon for everything makes Nayeon feel very grateful to have the woman in her life.

Nayeon is just very relieved that Sana and Y/N aren't dating. She's still bothered by the fact that they're having sex and all but who is she to say something when she was the one who broke up with Y/N in the first place? "Fight for her." Is what Mrs. Chou told her. Nayeon made up her mind and she's going to fight for Y/N no matter what it takes. Even if Y/N doesn't want her back, Nayeon at leasts wants Y/N to forgive her. She'll do what it takes to make Y/N forgive her.

"Woah, I didn't think you would be working already." Jinyoung suddenly walked in making Nayeon sigh in annoyance.

"What were you expecting me to do then?"

"I don't know, maybe visit your ex-girlfriend in the hospital?" He laughed.

"This isn't something to joke about."

"It kind of is though. I guess you didn't like my little surprise." He smirked as he crossed his arms.

"What are you talking about?" Nayeon was so worried about Y/N being alive that she actually didn't think any further of what happened. Why did the news say that she was dying when the only thing Y/N has is just a broken arm? How did Y/N get in an accident in the first place? Something about this is not quite right.

"You're quite slow, aren't you?" He laughed.

"You did it, didn't you?" Nayeon tightened her fist. Connecting all the dots, Nayeon now knows that Jinyoung did all of this.

"Bingo! It took you way too long to figure it out, Im Nayeon." Jinyoung hired someone to hit Y/N with a car and then spread fake news in order to worry Nayeon to death.

"Didn't I tell you to leave her alone?" Nayeon stood up and approached him.

"We had a deal, Nayeon-ie. I would spare her if you stopped seeing her but you went behind my back."

"I didn't even talk to her."

"These pictures say something else, don't they?" He showed some pictures on his phone. They were pictures of Nayeon talking to Y/N at the Myoui restaurant that day.

"What the fuck?! Have you been stalking me?"

"No, I was just watching you because I knew you would betray me. So now you got to face the consequences of that. Next time, It won't be just a broken arm, Nayeon-ah. This is just a snippet of what I can do." He laughed but got slapped in the face by Nayeon. Jinyoung got angry in an instant and suddenly grabbed Nayeon harshly.

"You have no right to hit me like that. Do you hear me?" He said in a scary tone.

"And you have no right to hurt her. Hurt her one more time and I'll fucking kill you with my bare hands. Nothing is stopping me and I have nothing to lose." Nayeon freed herself from his grip.

"You'd really become a murderer for the sake of that bitch?"

"Don't call her that." Nayeon warned.

"Aish girls and their stupid feelings. Listen to me, Im Nayeon. You'll have to do as I say if you want Chou Y/N to survive. Stop seeing her and I'll let her go, simple as that. Don't you even try to go behind my back because I have eyes everywhere. You'll be busted immediately." He slapped Nayeon's face lightly and left with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Fuck!" Nayeon yelled to herself. She should have known that Jinyoung was behind this. First it was her father and Jin that stood in her way and now it's her fucking ex-boyfriend. She badly wants to break up with him but she knows he won't let that happen. She's trapped and she doesn't know how she can escape from this hell.

"Y/N-ah, are you okay?" Mrs. Chou asked her daughter. They let Y/N already go home since she's doing fine, but unfortunately she'll have to walk around with an armcast for two weeks.

"Yes, mom. I'm okay." Y/N sat down at the table. "Where is everyone?"

"Tzuyu and Chaeyoung went to school and your dad is fixing his car. Apparently it broke down."

"Why didn't he ask me for help? He knows I'm good with cars." Y/N questioned.

"Y/N, you just got out of the hospital and you have a broken arm. There's no way we're letting you do something."

"I need to go to the company though. I have a meeting in an hour."

"Why didn't you cancel it?" The woman asked in worry. Y/N always overworked herself in the past but now it's even worse.

"I can't. It's crucial for me to attend that meeting."

"Don't overwork yourself, okay? We don't want you to end up like your dad." Mrs. Chou caressed her daughter's arm. This is exactly the same way how Mr. Chou got his burn out, seems like Y/N is taking the same path.

"Don't worry, won't be happening." Y/N assured her.

"I talked to Nayeon yesterday." Mrs. Chou informed after a short silence.

"What? Why?" Y/N wasn't expecting to hear that.

"I saw her crying and decided to approach her. She's just as hurt as you. She regrets everything." Y/N has been trying not to think about Nayeon but truth is, seeing her at the hospital like that made Y/N feel something. The way Nayeon begged her to hurt her just so that Y/N can continue with her life made Y/N feel taken aback. She hates to see Nayeon hurting, but she can't do anything about it.

"Regretting things won't change the damage she did to me. I'm still fixing the mess she caused."

"Despite that you're not even angry with her, are you? Because you know her dad and brother made her do it. You know that they're using Nayeon as their puppet."

"Yes, I know but what can I even do mom? We both damaged our relationship too much. There's just no way we can return to how it was. I know you like her for me but it just won't work." Y/N shook her head.

"So you're really just letting this go?"

"Yes. We should both move on. There's no future for us anymore." Y/N looked down. She really wishes there was, but can they even fix this damage? Their relationship is way too broken.

"I'm leaving it all to you, Y/N. But just know that she loves you too. Messing around with Sana won't make your feelings for Nayeon disappear."

"Who says I still have feelings for her? It's been about four months since we broke up."

"I know you and I can see it. Ignoring your feelings won't help them go away, facing them will." The woman patted Y/N's back. Mrs. Chou's words made Y/N start to think about everything. Y/N is well aware that she still cares about Nayeon, as for her feelings, she doesn't know if they're still there. Her heart used to beat faster whenever Nayeon was around, but now that wasn't the case. Maybe the anger and disappointment towards Nayeon made her feelings go away.

She doesn't really want to see Nayeon but lately Nayeon's been showing up a lot and it kind of starts to annoy Y/N. How is she supposed to move on from Nayeon if she keeps showing up everywhere? But then again Y/N has figured that whatever she does, she'll never be able to avoid Nayeon. After all they're both big and known CEO's. Both of their names pop up a lot on the news stations and news papers so Y/N just can't avoid seeing Nayeon.

As much as Y/N doesn't want to worry about Nayeon, she knows that her downfall is close. She knows that soon Mr. Im will attack and take everything away from her. She doesn't know when or how but she just knows that he will.

Y/N feels bad for not doing anything about it, but right now she doesn't even have any power in ImTech. Besides she warned Nayeon and Nayeon refused to believe her. So is it really right for her to feel bad for not doing anything when the person that's involved doesn't even believe her? Y/N just hates how she still has the urge to protect Nayeon from them.

Maybe it's because Nayeon was her first love or maybe it's because she witnessed what kind of fucked up life Nayeon has. She saw how Nayeon was getting abused, she knows that the woman had a fucked up childhood. Maybe these factors are the reason that Y/N just decided to leave Nayeon alone despite everything she did to Y/N. Y/N is well aware that Nayeon isn't herself right now and she believes that the woman will come to her senses one day, but that won't change anything between them.

"Jinyoung-ah? What brings you here?" Mr. Im asked as he sat down in front of Jinyoung. The guy came to visit him in prison.

"We're in trouble." Jinyoung sighed.

"Elaborate on that one."

"I'm sure you saw the news about Chou Y/N." Jinyoung started.

"About the car accident, right? Was it your doing?"

"Of course it was." He laughed. "Nayeon didn't listen to me and went behind my back. She keeps going after Y/N, I think she's starting to regret things."

"I knew she wasn't going to be able to last long." Mr. Im shook his head. "How's Y/N reacting to that?"

"For now she's ignoring her but we don't know how long that will last. They might make up sooner than we thought."

"And you're here to tell me that we should fasten the process, right?"

"Yes. If Chou Y/N starts to dig in, she'll find out what we're planning and she's going to get in our way. We need to act before Y/N steps into the game. I'm here to ask for your permission. If it's okay with you, I want to reveal the news next week." Jinyoung informed.

"Why wait so long? Chou Y/N is dangerous and quick. We need to act as soon as possible. We can't waste any time." Mr. Im knows how quick Y/N acts. She's always been one step ahead of him, so now he can't let that happen.

"What are you suggesting?" Jinyoung questioned.

"Start convincing the board to vote for you. Make sure no one hears about it and then announce that you want a board meeting on Wednesday."

"That's just in two days though."

"You'll be able to convince them. Most of them are already aware of this. The only one that won't vote for you is Nayeon, but I'm pretty sure all the others will vote for you. As long as Chou Y/N doesn't chime in, you'll definitely win and we'll get what we want."

"Alright, then I shouldn't waste any time and leave already."

"I trust you, Jinyoung-ah. Make me proud." Mr. Im smiled.

"Will do, Mr. Im." Jinyoung bowed and left the place. The first thing he did after leaving prison is go to ImTech to talk to the directors about wanting a meeting. The directors were surprised at first and told him that he has no right to demand one since he has no shares but little did they know that he actually has. And not just a small amount. He has all of Mr. Im's shares.

"But how is this possible? I thought Ms. Im had those shares." One of the directors questioned.

"She doesn't. Mr. Im gave me his shares instead of her so now I actually have more shares than she does, which definitely gives me the right to demand a meeting. If you don't believe me, here's proof that I am the real owner of those shares." Jinyoung handed them some files. The directors looked through them and all of them grew confused in an instant. This is definitely something none of them were aware of.

"What's the reason for you wanting a meeting?"

"Let's just say that I want to make an important change." Jinyoung smirked.

"Then we'll hold the shareholders meeting on Friday."

"No, I want it to happen on Wednesday. Please let all the shareholders know that this is a very important meeting that they need to attent. Also don't tell Ms. Im about me having shares in this company. I want her to find out Wednesday." Jinyoung demanded.

"But what if she questions about it?" One of the directors asked.

"Just say that the person who demanded the meeting is anonymous and that you don't know what it's about. If one of you tells her that I did it, you're going to have to face some heavy consequences." Jinyoung warned. All of them are intimidated now that they know that he's actually a major shareholder in this company.

"We'll do as you say, Mr. Park." They bowed to him.

"Your downfall is close, Im Nayeon." He mumbled to himself smiling.

"Ms. Im, one of the directors wants to speak to you." Momo informed.

"Oh let him in."

"Mr. Jong, how can I help you?" Nayeon asked when the man walked in.

"There will be a board meeting on Wednesday. We need you to attend it."

"Board meeting? Why? Who asked for one?" Nayeon furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"The demander is anonymous but apparently they want to talk about something important. The demander itself already contacted most of the shareholders and they agreed on meeting up on Wednesday." Nayeon has no idea on who it could be. She has most of the shares in the company and the other shareholders seemed to be happy with the current situation. And why even is this shareholder anonymous? Nayeon just can't understand what's going on.

"Oh okay, I'll attend the meeting." Nayeon smiled.

"Great. I'll let everyone know." The man bowed and left the office.

"Momo, why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Nayeon sighed. She feels like something bad is going to happen but can't even guess what.

Wednesday came by fast and Nayeon just entered the company to attend the board meeting. She kept thinking about who this anonymous shareholder might be for the past two days. She even looked up all of the shareholders but none of them seem to have demanded a meeting. This situation is just very weird and Nayeon has to admit that she feels quite nervous.

"Nayeon-ah, wait for me!" Jinyoung approached her.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm attending the meeting." He smiled.

"Why are you even attending?" Nayeon questioned. He's not even a shareholder in this company, so what is he doing here?

"You'll find out soon." He winked and the two walked into the office. Nayeon greeted all of the shareholders and directors before sitting down. Of course as the CEO she's the most important person in the room.

"Since everyone is here, we can start the meeting. Usually I'm the one that leads these meetings but since I have no idea what the demander wants, I'll leave it up to him to explain his reason for gathering all of us here. Mr. Park, please come forward." The director demanded and Jinyoung stood up as he walked to the front. Nayeon is growing even more confused now. Jinyoung demanded the meeting? But how did he even do that? He has no right to.

"I'm sure you're all confused on how I managed to demand a meeting and why I demanded one. I think this company needs to go through an important change. As you guys know Im Nayeon has been the CEO of ImTech for about four months now. But has she been doing well? I mean yes the stock prices rose, but that isn't due to her being the CEO. It's because of the fact that she got assaulted and because she's dating me."

"Jinyoung, what are you talking about?" Nayeon interrupted.

"I'm saying that you're not a good CEO. You're not doing this company any justice. The CEO needs to change if we want the company to do well." Everyone is confused on why Jinyoung is talking like this. Aren't the two dating? Why would he say something like this about his girlfriend?

"But the company is doing well now. Why would you say she's not doing a good job?" Mr. Myoui asked, he's still a shareholder in this company so he has the right to vote.

"Like I said the circumstances caused the company to do well for now. Ms. Im actually has no idea what she's doing and I know because I've been watching her work. If we keep her as the CEO, the future of this company won't be good." He shook his head.

"Who are you to even say that? You're no one important in this company. You don't even have the right to be here." Nayeon reminded.

"That's where you're wrong, Nayeon-ssi. I actually do have the right to be here since I'm a major shareholder." The guy smirked.

"Yeah right, shareholder." Nayeon chuckled.

"This is a list of all the shareholders in this company. As you can see I'm one of them." He handed everyone the list. Nayeon widened her eyes upon seeing it. Jinyoung is the largest shareholder of the company? But that's not possible, Nayeon has both Y/N's and her father's shares.

"How did you get those shares? Why weren't we aware of this?" One of the shareholders asked.

"Mr. Im gave his shares to me not to his daughter. He knew that Nayeon-ssi wouldn't be able to lead the company so he trusted me with it instead."

"That's not possible! I even signed a contract for it." Nayeon remembered.

"Well, that was fake. I'm the real owner of those shares and as the largest shareholder I want a vote to change the CEO of this company."

"You have to be joking." Nayeon is beyond mad right now. How could her father give him the shares instead of her?

"Then who would you want to be the CEO?" Mr. Myoui asked.

"Me. I nominate myself. Let's have a vote on it and whoever gets more votes will become the CEO." He suggested.

"I don't agree with this at all. I've only been the CEO for four months. How can you even see if someone's a good CEO just in four months? What would people say if the CEO keeps changing? It won't be good for the reputation of ImTech." Nayeon protested.

"What won't be good for the company is if you keep being a CEO. As you guys all know Mr. Im and his son are in prison. The Im family just doesn't have a good reputation right now which includes you as well. As long as an Im is the CEO of this company, the reputation will never be good. We need a CEO that's not related to the Im family in order to fix the mess that was caused." He explained and most of them were actually nodding indicating that they agree with him. The Im family got involved in many scandals lately so it won't be a surprise if they get involved in another one in the future as well.

"Since he's a major shareholder he has the right to demand another vote. I suggest you all think this through and that we have a voting tomorrow." One of the directors suggested.

"What? You can't do this! I'm the CEO of this company and no way I'll let him take my position! The vote will be useless!" Nayeon is getting very stressed out at this point. She knew something bad was coming. Jinyoung and her father have been planning this ever since the beginning but Nayeon had no idea. She was stupid enough to trust them. Y/N was right all along.

"We'll have to follow the rules Nayeon-ssi. The vote will be happening tomorrow. If you win nothing will change but if he wins, you'll have to step down as the CEO." Mr. Jong informed.

"Let's end the meeting here, shall we? Let's see each other back tomorrow for the voting." The man ended the meeting and everyone stood up leaving the room except for Nayeon. She kept sitting there completely frozen. She can't comprehend what just happened. All this time she thought that she had her father's shares but turns out that her father never gave them to her, he gave it to Jinyoung instead. He gave it to a stranger instead of his daughter.

"You're in shock I see." Jinyoung laughed. They're the only ones left in the room.

"How long have you been planning this?"

"Ever since your dad and brother got in prison. That's why you have no chance, Nayeon-ah. Your father and brother have been helping me. There's no way you can win against the three of us. And now that Chou Y/N is out of the game, you definitely have no chance." The guy smirked.

"I won't step down that easily, you know that right?" Nayeon approached him.

"But you'll have to. Have fun on your last day as the CEO. It'll be gone tomorrow."

"Fuck you." Nayeon pushed him. "How could you do this?"

"You're so naive, I can't even believe it. You know that everyone is just after money right? In this industry no one cares about feelings and people. All they care about is money. That's why you'll never be a good CEO, you're too caught up in your own emotions to be one." He grabbed Nayeon's arm harshly.

"Let me go!" Nayeon tried to push him off but he kept holding her arm.

"I'm going to leave you with nothing. Everything that you have will be mine. You're going down, Nayeon-ah. And everyone's going to watch you go down all by yourself. No one will be there to help you." He said in a serious tone.

"I fucking hate you." Nayeon finally managed to get out of his grip.

"Do you know why all of this is happening to you right now? You're going to lose everything you have and it's all because you let go of Chou Y/N. She would have protected you and she would have stood in our way until the very end but you let her go which made it way easier for us. Thank you for that." He laughed.

"I should go now. Gotta prepare for the big day tomorrow." He winked and left the room. The moment he left Nayeon's tears started to flow. Y/N was right all along, she warned her but Nayeon refused to believe her. She's going to lose everything that she has and she has no power to change the outcome. She knows Jinyoung will win. Her father and Jin are helping him and like Jinyoung said, Nayeon can never win against the three of them. That wouldn't have been the case if Y/N was beside her.

Nayeon should have believed Y/N. If she had believed her everything would have been different right now. She would still have been with Y/N and she probably also still would have been the CEO. But most importantly she would have been happy. Right now she's not happy at all. Y/N was her happiness and she lost her.
