Chapter 7

Y/N is working in her office right now. Nayeon texted her that she's on her way, so she should be here any minute.

"Ms. Chou, Ms. Tzuyu is here." Dahyun said.

"Tzuyu? Let her in." Y/N is confused. Why is Tzuyu here?

"Tzuyu-yah, what are you doing here?"

"Why do you look surprised? It's not like I never come here." The younger girl chuckled.

"It's just, you've been showing up a lot lately."

"I'm just trying to learn business, you know." She stated as she sat down.

"Focus on your studies for now. Business will come afterwards."

"I just want to help you. You're doing all the work by yourself." Tzuyu just feels bad for Y/N. No one in the family helps her out with the company.

"I'm handling things great by myself. You're still young so just focus on your studies, get your degree and then you can join me here. You know you have equally as much ownership over this company as me." Y/N reminded her.

"Ms. Chou, Ms. Im just came." Dahyun interrupted once again.

"Let her in, Dahyun-ah."

"Oh you have company." Nayeon noticed once she entered the office.

"Ah yes, this is my sister."

"Chou Tzuyu, right?" Nayeon asked as she extended her hand and Tzuyu accepted.

"Yes, nice to meet you, Nayeon-ssi." Tzuyu really doesn't like Nayeon, but she has to be polite especially now that she's her sister's business partner.

"I'm guessing you two are going to work on the project now?" Tzuyu raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah, it's gotta be finished until tomorrow."

"I can help if you want." Tzuyu offered.

"No, your exams are coming up. You should go home and study. Remember your studies come first." Y/N said seriously. Nayeon is kinda liking this side of Y/N. She's protective over her sister, which Nayeon admires.

"Yah, you never let me do anything work related." Tzuyu pouted.

"Your time will come, Tzuyu-yah. Don't rush things."

"Fine, I'll go study then. Nice seeing you again Nayeon-ssi." Tzuyu bid her goodbyes and left.

"Why aren't you letting her work? She seems like she wants to work." Nayeon questioned as she sat down.

"She should just enjoy her time as a student. She's going to have to work her entire life after she graduates anyways. I want her to have fun for now and not worry much about work." Y/N explained and Nayeon smiled.

"You seem like you care a lot about your sister."

"Shall we start working?" Y/N asked ignoring Nayeon's statement. The CEO doesn't want Nayeon to know that Tzuyu is very important to her. When people find out that Y/N has a weak spot for her sister and cousin, they use them to target her.

"When is the deadline?" Y/N asked.

"I have to present the project at 9 in the morning at our company." Nayeon sighed.

"So they think that I'm not investing but they're still giving you a chance to present?"

"Yeah, just so they can humiliate me afterwards." Nayeon said in a low tone but Y/N heard it anyways.

"Would your dad really do that?" Nayeon just nodded weakly. If Y/N didn't agree on investing then she wouldn't even go but then again if she doesn't go it'll be worse. Her father would freak out. Luckily Y/N decided to invest, so this way they can't humiliate her.

"Don't worry, they can't humiliate you now. I became an investor and this project is going to be so perfect that they can't say anything." Y/N assured smiling. Nayeon was feeling a bit down but hearing Y/N say that, put a smile on her face. She still doesn't understand why Y/N is doing all of this. She wants to ask but then again she doesn't want to chase the CEO away. Hopefully Y/N has good intentions.

After working for about two hours Nayeon suddenly spoke up.

"Y/N-ssi, I'm hungry." Since it's almost 10pm it would be a bit suspicious for her to leave the office to get some food so she has no choice but to ask Y/N.

"I'll get us some food. Take a break if you want." Y/N said and left the office. After just five minutes she came back.

"Let's eat now, shall we?" Y/N placed the food and drinks on the table in front of Nayeon and sat down as well.

"What the hell is this?"

"Instant ramen." Y/N smirked. She knows Nayeon is going to freak out but maybe this is a chance to show the spoiled woman that you can also have good food for a low price.

"Yah, didn't I tell you that I would never eat that??"

"Yah?" Y/N raised her eyebrows. She isn't used to strangers talking informally to her.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that Y/N-ssi. That was rude." Nayeon immediately apologized. "But still you know that I won't eat this."

"C'mon just try it. I swear you won't regret it." Y/N tried to convince her.

"No, it's unhealthy and I will gain weight if I eat it." The woman shook her head.

"I eat this all the time. Do I look unhealthy to you?" Y/N gestured to herself.

"No..."

"Do I look fat to you?"

"Of course not!" Nayeon raised her voice.

"Then that means it's fine. Especially if you eat it only once." Y/N placed the cup of ramen in front of Nayeon.

"I'm not going to eat this because you ask me to. I will eat this because I'm hungry. And I swear if it's disgusting, I'll kill you." Nayeon threatened and Y/N just nodded.

"Just go ahead and try." Y/N already started slurping her noodles. Nayeon hates this. She really hates in what kind of situation Y/N is putting her in right now. She kept looking at the noodles and it's just grossing her out. How can people eat this?

"C'mon stop looking at it like that. It's delicious." Y/N assured and Nayeon finally decided to try it. When she ate it, her eyes widened. It's way better than she expected.

"Hmm, you like it right? I can see it on your face." Y/N smiled in victory.

"It's just okay." Truth is she likes it a lot.

"And what the hell is this?" Nayeon pointed to some cans on the table.

"Energy drinks." Nayeon's face went back to disgusted.

"You drink that shit?"

"Yes." Y/N nodded as she opened one of the cans.

"Here you drink some too." Y/N opened another can and placed it in front of Nayeon.

"There's no way I'll drink that."

"Why? Does that also disgust Ms. Im Nayeon?" Y/N really can't believe how spoiled she is.

"It's even worse than instant ramen."

"Whatever you say." Y/N just gave up. It already took her a lot of energy to convince Nayeon to eat the instant ramen, she doesn't have any energy left to convince her to drink an energy drink as well.

"Do you want more?" Y/N asked when she noticed how Nayeon finished all her food.

"Do you have more?" Nayeon can't believe that she's actually longing for more of that cheap food. Her family always told her not to eat those kind of stuff so she never had any her entire life.

"Of course. I have a whole stock here." Y/N opened something like a closet and there was a fridge, some snacks and instant ramen in it.

"Pick whatever you want, Nayeon-ssi."

"Why do you have all of this in your office?"

"I spend a lot of my time here. Besides I like to eat." Y/N informed.

"I'll just eat the same thing again." Even though there were different kinds of instant ramen she chose the same one. She can't risk trying another one.

"I'll get hot water for you." Y/N stood up and left the office with Nayeon's cup so that she can put some boiling water in it.

The two worked all night so that they could finish on time. They worked until around 4 and the two fell asleep without even knowing. When Nayeon woke up in the morning she saw that it was 8:40am already.

"Fuck, fuck. Y/N-ssi, wake up. We fell asleep." Nayeon pushed the girl lightly which made Y/N groan.

"Fuck! There's no way I can make it to the company in 20 minutes." Nayeon worried.

"If you depart now, you can still make it." Y/N informed.

"I don't have my car with me. I need to call my driver." Nayeon grabbed her phone to call her driver but was stopped by Y/N.

"You won't make it if you wait for him to come. I'll drive you there." Y/N suggested.

"B-but..." Nayeon hesitated.

"There's no way you'll make it otherwise. Now come we need to be fast." Y/N walked out of the office and Nayeon followed her. She has no other choice.

"Dahyun-ah, tell them to get my car ready. And fast please." Y/N told her assistant and Dahyun obeyed. The two went to front of the company and there was her car.

"I will drive Mr. Kang." She said to her driver and took the keys from him. Y/N and Nayeon both got into the car and Y/N started driving the maximum speed so that they make it on time.

"Ah, I'm going to be late." Nayeon is really stressing out right now. She only has about 10 minutes left.

"Don't worry, you'll make it." Y/N assured her and continued to drive the maximum speed, which scared Nayeon a bit. After exactly 10 minutes Y/N drove to the front of the company. All the attention was on her car since she was driving pretty fast.

"Thank you, Y/N-ssi." Nayeon said quickly and ran into the company. It's exactly 9am now but it'll take her at least another 5 minutes to go to the office where her father is waiting for her.

"You're late." Her father said once she entered the office. There were some managers with him, including Jeongyeon, and unfortunately Jin as well.

"I'm sorry." She knows how much her father hates people being late, even though she was only 5 minutes late.

"That's very irresponsible of you." Jin shook his head causing his sister to glare at him.

"I don't even know why we're all here, it's not like this project will go through anyways." Jin chuckled.

"Here's the investor list, father." Nayeon handed him the list, she can't wait for them to see that Chou Y/N is on the list.

"No need to look, father. We all know that the investor we want is not on the list." Jin smirked. He's 100% sure that Chou Y/N didn't invest. Why would she invest in a poor project like Nayeon's?

"Well, you're wrong about that son." His father widened his eyes after scanning the entire list.

"What do you mean?"

"How about you check the last name on the list, brother." Nayeon emphasized the word brother. He took the list from Mr. Im and looked at the last name. This can't be. It's really Chou Y/N?

"This is not possible. She rejected your offer only two days ago." Jin shook his head. He refuses to believe it.

"Guess Nayeon was really determined. As expected from my daughter." Her father praised her.

"This is obviously fake. There's just no way this can be true."

"It is true." Someone interrupted their conversation. All heads turned to the door where the voice was coming from and they were all surprised to see Chou Y/N.

"Oh, Y/N-ssi. Welcome." Mr. Im smiled as everyone stood up. Nayeon wasn't expecting for Y/N to suddenly show up at the office but Y/N knew they weren't going to believe Nayeon, especially Jin, so she thought of confirming it herself.

"So it is true that you became an investor?" Jeongyeon asked.

"Yes. I only decided to become one yesterday."

"Why did you change your mind, Y/N-ssi?" Mr. Im asked.

"Nayeon-ssi followed my advice and adjusted her project. I really believe this will be successful. I didn't want to let the opportunity slide." Y/N smiled as she looked at Nayeon.

"How much will you be investing?" Jeongyeon asked.

"5 billion won." Everyone's eyes widened upon hearing that. That's a lot of money.

"Well, now that we know that Chou Y/N is an investor how about you present the project to us Nayeon-ah?" Her father wasn't expecting this. He was actually ready to throw the investor list in the trash can but seeing Chou Y/N's name on this completely changed his mind. The fact that Chou Y/N confirmed it herself is even better.

"Father, didn't you say that there was no need for her to give her presentation?" Jin asked. Mr. Im wasn't even determined to give Nayeon a chance because he was sure that she wouldn't be able to convince Chou Y/N. His daughter really proved him wrong.

"That was before we knew that Chou Y/N became an investor. How about you join us for the presentation as well, Y/N-ssi? You're an investor after all." Mr. Im gestured to one of the seats and Y/N smiled as she sat down next to Jeongyeon.

"Can I start?" Nayeon asked as she got her powerpoint ready. She's very nervous right now. Yes Chou Y/N decided to invest but she doesn't know what her dad will think about the project itself. Especially since they changed a lot.

"Yes, go ahead." Mr. Im said and Nayeon looked at Y/N in all nervousness. Y/N noticed this and nodded to the woman to assure her that it will be fine. Nayeon doesn't know why but just by looking at Y/N she gained confidence and started her presentation. And let me tell you she did a very good job. Y/N really is proud of her.

"So? What do you think, father?" Nayeon questioned.

"I agree with Y/N-ssi. This project does seem like it'll be successful." He nodded.

"I don't agree at all. And why did you change the whole execution process?" Jin asked.

"I changed it so that we can have the highest profits as possible."

"Y/N-ssi, what do you think?" Mr. Im really thinks Y/N's opinion is important.

"I think ImTech should start executing this project immediately."

"Then it is decided. This is ImTech's new project." The man smiled. He is proud of Nayeon's achievements but he will never admit that.

"Thank you so much." Nayeon bowed in all happiness. She looked at Y/N smiling and Y/N smiled back. Jeongyeon noticed how the two kept smiling at each other and how Y/N was telling Nayeon with her eyes not to worry.

"B-but dad..." Jin tried to protest.

"Son, Chou Y/N has never been wrong. If she says that'll be a profitable then it most likely will be, right Y/N-ssi?" The CEO asked.

"Of course." Y/N just smiled. "I should go now though, if it is decided. I have a business meeting in about half an hour." Y/N stood up.

"Sure, Y/N-ssi. Thank you for coming by. I hope to see you again soon." She shook hands with Mr. Im.

"Now that I'm one of your investors, we will definitely see each other again, Mr. Im." Y/N said and with that she left the office. Before leaving she glanced at Nayeon and saw the woman mouthing a "thank you" which Y/N just nodded on.
