chapter 3
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN: A TALE OF LOST LOVE
30 minutes later, the guy had started regaining consciousness, showing signs of movement in his eyes. The observant nurse in his ward room noticed these signs and immediately went to inform Uncle Roy. Aashi, who was sitting with Uncle Roy in his cabin, overheard the news. Nurse: Doctor, the patient from ward no. 52 is getting conscious. Uncle Roy: Heyy...that's the guy you had brought here, Aashi."Aashi: Ohh, then let's go to his ward room, Uncle. (Aashi replied with excitement) They both got up from their seats and headed towards the ward room. However, just as they were about to enter, Uncle Roy stopped Aashi. Uncle Roy: Wait, wait, Aashi...the guy has just regained consciousness. Let me go alone and examine him first. You can come in later. Aashi: Okay, Uncle...as you say, I'll remain here outside. As Uncle Roy entered the room, he noticed that the guy had already opened his eyes. Although he was still lying on the bed, he appeared confused. Uncle Roy: Hello, young man (Uncle Roy spoke to him calmly with a smile)The Guy: Where...where am I?" (the guy noticed uncle Roy and asked him with curosity) Uncle Roy: am doctor Roy and currently your in my hospital. Hearing this, the guy immediately sat up on the bed Aditya: Hospital? Why am I here? Did you bring me here? Why am I still alive? Why did you save my life doctor? Uncle Roy, had already expected such questions from the guys mouth, he tried to calm him down. Uncle Roy: Relax, relax, young man. I have never seen anyone in my life getting so upset for not losing their life," he replied. The outburst from the guy angered Aashi, who had been listening to everything from outside the ward room. She stormed in. Aashi: What the hell do you mean? Are you saying we should have let you die? Instead of thanking the doctor for giving you a new life, you are complaining? Do you even know that because of you, I haven't even taken rest? I spent my whole time sitting on that damn bench till your operation was carried out!"The guy, who had been bombarding Uncle Roy with questions just moments ago, became silent upon Aashi's sudden entry and her barrage of questions. He looked at her in surprise, unable to respond. Meanwhile, Uncle Roy interrupted. Uncle Roy: Aashi, Aashi...calm down. I told you to wait outside. Why did you come in?"Aashi: So what did you want me to do, Uncle? Stay outside and listen to all the rubbish this idiot was saying? (She then turned her attention back to the guy) "And hello...I asked you something. Don't remain quiet like a statue. Speak up!"The Guy: Who...who is this doctor?" (the guy questioned Uncle Roy with confusion) Uncle Roy: Well, well, well...this is Aashi. The girl who brought you to this hospital at the right time. Thanks to her, we managed to save your life. The Guy: But...but why is she talking to me this way? As if...as if she knows me personally? (the guy questioned, his voice trembling)Uncle Roy: Because she is just like that. She talks to everyone this way, whether she knows them or not. Whatever is in her heart, she says it directly to the person in front of her. Aashi: Uncle, you have examined this idiot enough. You can leave. Let me handle him. Uncle Roy: But, beta, you are not a doctor. Aashi: Don't worry, Uncle. I have brought many so-called depressed people back on track before. Let me handle him. (Aashi confidently replied) Uncle Roy: Okay, as you wish. before leaving the room, Uncle Roy looked at the guy, and wished him good luck and left the room. saying good luck to the guy was a sign from Uncle Roy to the guy, making him alert about the class which Aashi was about to take of him after he has left the room. After Uncle Roy left, the guy turned his face towards Aashi. Aashi stared at him sternly, like a strict teacher would at a mischievous student. The guy felt a sense of fear upon seeing her expression. With his fearful expression, he looked like a cute, innocent boy. The Guy: Why...why are you looking at me like this? (Confused and nervous, the guy questioned her)Aashi: I'm just thinking...how come people like you get these thoughts of committing suicide? (Aashi questioned holding the same strict expressions) Aditya: It's easy for you to ask a question like this...but the people who go through real pain in their life...only they can understand that this life is nothing but a burden. (Tears welled up in Aditya's eyes as he replied)Aashi listened to Aditya's response, her gaze softening for a moment. She then sat down beside him on the bed Aashi: What's your name?"The Guy: Aditya...my name is Aditya. (Aditya sniffled and replied) Aashi took a deep breath before speaking. Aashi: Look, Aditya...having pain in life doesn't mean we should end our life. You think you are the only one who has pain in life? Dude, every single person living on this planet has some or the other pain. If everyone starts thinking like you, then the existence of human beings from this earth will get wiped out completely. Suicide can never be a solution to any problem. Promise me that you're never gonna attempt such a horrible act again. Aditya was silent, his eyes filled with confusion. Aditya: I'm not understanding, who are you...I don't even know you...why are you showing so much concern towards me...we don't even have any relation with eachother. Aashi smiled gently hearing Adityas reply. Aashi: Well, we do have one relation with each other...it's the relation of humanity. And I can't see anyone attempting such an act in front of me."Aditya remained quiet, contemplating Aashi's words. seeing Aditya all silent ....Aashi started speaking further. Aashi: Look, at least for the sake of my sleep...please throw out the thoughts of doing suicide yaar...please, please, please."Confused, Aditya questioned, "Your sleep?"Aashi: Yes, dude. I was returning back from a New Year's Eve party when I found you in your car on the roadside. I was damn tired after the party...I wanted to come home and go to sleep...but on my way, your situation arose, and I spent the rest of the time here at the hospital. I sacrificed my precious sleep for you, yaar. So please, atleast for the sake of my sacrificed sleep...please take away the thoughts of attempting suicide. Aashi's unique and sweet talk brought a smile to Aditya's depressed face. Seeing his smile, Aashi couldn't help but feel happy. Aashi: Wow dude...not bad huh, You look quite handsome with that smile. So, does your smile mean that you have finally decided to accept my request?" she asked.Aditya nodded, his smile growing wider. Aditya: Yes, I'll listen to you...for the sake of your sacrificed sleep, I'll take away the thoughts of committing suicide."Aashi beamed with joy. Aashi: Fantastic! finally, now I can go home without any worries and sleep peacefully. I'll take a leave now, but I'll see you soon dude. (she blinked her right eye playfully before leaving the ward) Aditya watched her leave, his smile lingering on his face. He couldn't help but feel grateful for Aashi's intervention and her genuine concern. to be continued in next part.
