'You're my regret'
.
The vicious game of the former footballer
"Should we let them out?" Shahzain asked pacing around worriedly. It had been half an hour since they locked them inside. And only screams and dead silence were two extreme ends.
"No," Haya shrieked. "No, they should spend sometime together,"
"Do you hear the voices, it looks like a match of WWE, they will kill each other in there,"
"You are afraid of them killing each other or Maaz killing you?"
"I am afraid of nothing Ms. Haya,"
"Can you both stop fighting like a fucking married couple?" Danial mentioned putting his ear on the steel door, where they could hear distinct voices of threat, fear and major annoyance.
"We aren't a married couple," Haya said in defense. "And we are fighting because of them, they are fighting like a married couple,"
"They are fighting because they love each other, why are you both trying to mince my brain?"
Danial said. "It looks like things have calmed down and they have subsided the fight..."
His words went lost in his mouth when they heard a chair break inside the room. "Or not,"

"Danial open the door," Shahzain proposed after a while sitting on the step which led down to the attic.
"What? When did we decide that I'd open the door?"
"You are his cousin," Shahzain smiled victoriously.
"Stop shitting yourself, aren't you his best friend, and I am not the one boasting in front of a girl that you are afraid of nothing, we both know hamri kitni phatti ha Maaz ke gussay sa," (We both know we shit from Maaz's anger)
"Ahista bolo,"( Talk in a low voice) Shahzain muttered. "Pani lene gai hai, aur waisay bhi us chamgadar ke kaan bohat teez ha," (She only went to bring water and her ears aren't less sharp than a bat's)
"Tu us sa darta ha?" (Are you afraid of her?) Danial made a pitiful expression in the pretence of sarcasm.
"Are you mad? No,"
"Wait, isn't she your ideal, strong headed, someone who keeps you on the knees, I didn't know my bhabhi was so close to us," (Sister in law)
"Dani..."
"Kiski bhabhi?" Haya came sipping on the water. (Who's sister in law?)
"Wo meri bhabhi yani shahza..." (My sister in law, I mean Shahzain's...)
"Shahzian ki bhi bhabhi," (Shahzain's sister in law as well) Shahzain said. "Meaning, Ayat bhabhi," (Our sister in law, Ayat)
Haya nodded her head, as she sat back down. "Ye ayat ke samne na bolna ab, tum dono ko aik saath he zinda chaba jaye gi," (Now don't go around and say it infront of Ayat, she will eat you both alive)
"Waisay tum sari dostein aik jaisi he ho, churailon ki trha," (All of you friends are the same like a banshee) Shahzain muttered.
"Kia bolay ho?"(What did you just say?)Haya asked with furrowed brows.
"Darwaza nahi kholna tha?" (Shouldn't we open the door?) Danial reminded them muffling a laugh. "Chal shahzain," (Go Shahzain)
Shahzain glared at Danial but gave in when Haya looked at them both longer than needed. He unlocked the door and twisted the knob, they heard Ayat's voice first.
"Ya Allah tera shukar, is jhanum sa nikli hun," Ayat stormed out of the place without giving a second look. (Thank god, I am out of this hell)
"Han tou mujhay bhi tumhare saath reh kar apna blood pressure brhane ka shouq nahi ha," (I don't want my blood pressure to get high in your company as well) Maaz called after her. Danial and Shahzain had already ran away like scared cats. Haya was left. She smiled stiffly.
"Nice to meet you Maaz bhai,"
Maaz left with the speed of light without saying two words.
The next night had settled and all three guys were under the roof of a huge haveli. the haveli Maaz had spent his lonely childhood in and lost his father in. He hated that place. He crashed the glass filled with wine on the floor.
"Uske liya kutton ki trha khawar ho rha tha," (I went all limits to find her)
"Tou mat hota," (So you shouldn't have) Shahzain said. "Waisay bhi tujhay kia tha," (Anyways why did you bother?)
"Aik tou pehle hi usne dimag kharab kardia upar se tum log har dou minute bad mera sar kha jate ho,"( She has already made me crazy and you both eat my brain as well) Maaz complained. "aur zada khush mat ho, kuch achay karname nahi kia tum logo na bhi," (And don't get too happy, you haven't done the best of deeds yourself)
"Ab jane bhi de na, gussa thuk,"(Let it go now, let the anger go) Danial proposed. Maaz gave him a seemingly annoyed look.
"I am not angry," Somehow his reply seemed genuine.
"Does that mean you didn't mind what we did?" Shahzain asked.
"I never said that," Maaz masked his expressions and picked up the keys to his car.
"Now where?" Danial asked.
"To blow off some steam," Maaz instantly answered and flashed out the door.

More doctors started to sit in the cafeteria who did the night shifts all they could do was give each other sympathetic smiles and look. Third day in a row. They all looked devastated and pathetic. Ayat wasn't necessarily pleased by whoever the person was to come, why is there a need to make people wait for you. It was already 11:00 and there was no trace of a person, they needed to be punctual because all she wanted was to jump in her bed and sleep.
Saman, a good friend of theirs came to sit beside them.
"Welcome to the sad gang," Haya greeted her.
"Oh, you see that?" Saman pointed out to her partially alive state. "This is what a rotten tomato mostly looks like,"
"I hate the wait," Ayat complained.
"Well. No more wait because the person has come. Finally. They are saying it is a politician,"
"A politician?" Ayat was curious. "Since when did they bother with the hospital staff, last time I checked they didn't even care if we had ventilators,"
"It isn't the politician who bought it, it is some other man behind it," Saman informed.
"Actually I heard this rumor too, I'll stick to the politician for now," Haya admitted.
"Well don't tell me we are going to have much more of these days, just look around yourself a cafeteria filled with Zombies," Ayat commented.
"Well, what can we say?" Saman said. "The politician was different. Handsome and tall. Not fat and corrupt looking,"
"Lucky us, but I am guessing he'd be corrupt," Haya said. "But do you seriously think it was the politician we have been waiting for, I though some president would drop by,"
"Same here, well let's see who com..." The water spewed out of Ayat's mouth going in perfect sprinkles around her as she saw the person in front of him. Shahzain was inspecting the hospital looking at the cafeteria foods. Her mouth was open. Haya shook her out of the dazed state.
"What?" Haya asked as she was facing the backside of what Ayat had encountered.
"Look behind you," Haya and Saman both looked back. Haya gasped back in shock. Saman glimpsed at him and then back at the girls who seemed like they had forgotten to breath.
"This is what I was talking about. Isn't he good looking?" Saman mentioned casually looking at the rocks in front of her who couldn't tear their eyes away from the man.
"He is," Haya stuttered. "He is,"
She hid her face behind her hand. She didn't know what to do.
It isn't the politician thought, there is some other man behind it.
Did that mean that Maaz... she brushed away the thought, as Shahzain caught her looking towards him. He cut the conversation short with the person he was talking to and walked towards their table. there was no way to escape she had to face him.
"Ayat," Shahzain said formally looking at her. Ayat rolled her eyes and looked away.
"You are still angry about last week?" He asked humbly approaching her. "I promise, it was Haya's idea,"
"Excuse me!" Haya stood up. "You are the one who was adamant on locking them in one room,"
Saman looked at those three and blinked thrice before saying.
"He knows you?!" Saman whisper yelled totally unaware what the door, room and last week was all about. Shahzain quietly greeted Saman and dismissed the bodyguards along him.
"Are you following me?" Ayat went straightforward cutting their banter.
"God forbid. No," Shahzain said.
"Then what are you here for?" Haya demanded bossily.
"Only if we knew you work here we wouldn't have," Shahzain scratched his neck in nervousness.
"Wouldn't have what?" Ayat stood up in curiosity.
"You wouldn't like it,"
"Just get it over with," Ayat said anger already coming through.
"Bought this property," Shahzain finished. Ayat didn't understand what was Maaz playing at now. She was only afraid one thing. He promised she'd get hurt. She didn't want to fall for the vicious game of the former footballer.
