Chapter 14: "Echoes in the abyss"

Love Left Me, But I StayedWords: 909

I fell not gently, but in a storm of despair,

Torn from the comfort of what was fair.

The ground betrayed me, the sky turned cold,

And in the silence, stories untold.

Shadows stretched where light had been,

A war within, yet nothing seen.

But in the hollow, a whisper grew,

A voice that said, 'This fall is you.'

For from the depths, a soul can soar,

And broken hearts hold the strongest core.

Author's Note*

I wanted to capture the moment when life feels like it has completely unraveled. I've been there—when the silence after chaos is deafening, and you're left questioning everything you thought you knew. This verse comes from a deeply personal place, where I learned that falling apart doesn't mean you're broken; it means you're being reshaped. The voice that emerges in the darkness is your own, stronger and more truthful than before. For me, the abyss wasn't the end—it was where I found myself.
